How to provide multi language to application?

Dear All,
I want to save some values as multilanguage.
There are my solutions:
my database table is:
language:
1. ID
2. Name
property:
1. ID //DBSequence
2. Code
propertyml:
1. Property_id
2. Language_id
3. Name
4. Description
my form:
[Create Insert button]
Code: inputText
Language: selectOneChoise
Name: inputText
Description: inputText
[save button]
But I'm facing problem.
How to save one moment "property" and "properyml" entity to database? Because when createinsert moment we don't have "ID of property table", i can't give property_id to propertyml table.
First i commit property entity to db, it is OK. But one moment, i haven't no idea.
I attached my application without sql script.
My project: http://www.4shared.com/file/_DkeiyY5/MultiLanguage.html

Hello,
You should first have an association between tour property and propertyml entities.
Then you need to create a VO With property entity.
Then add propertyml entity and check updatable
In attributes and the propertyml fields you want to file.
into you entity association, don't forget to check composition association and cascade update key attributes into relationship tab (*behavior*)
This will managed your created property id into your propertyml.
I hope this help.

  • Providing multi-language capability

    Hi everyone!
I am to develop a prototype that aims to store, display and sort data in multi-language. I've read a couple of documentations but I would appreciate it if you could suggest some other good articles hiding out there.
Aside from the concepts discussed in Java Internationalization, are there any other alternative ways in providing multi-language capabilities to an application?
    Thanks in advance!

I am using MSArial Unicode font for displaying unicode strings in msaccess 2000.Using chineese strings stored in properties file i am able to display the chinese language strings in swing tool tips, but data fetching from database and displaying in JList is giving the ????? problem. JDBC is screwing up the data stream, as the same using VB ADO/DAO connectivity works.
Do you have any idea of what alternative drivers for JDBC can I use?

  • Provide Multi Language Content in Knowledge Management // Class deprecated

    Hello,
I tried to implement the blog "Provide Multi Language Content in Knowledgle Management" by Thomas Kuri (BridingIT).
I have problems to import the the following class:
    import com.sapportals.portal.prt.service.usermanagement.IUserManagementService;
I always get the warning "The type IUserManagementService" is deprecated. I use the following jar file for that:
    j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.usermanagement\lib\com.sap.portal.usermanagementapi.jar
Is that the wrong jar file? Or am I doing something else wrong?
    Thanks for your help!!
    Kirsten

    Hi,
she's trying to implement the code example from this article:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/207ba610-08ac-2b10-1787-fc477da4b5bf
In this article, the deprecated class is used. Why? The code obviously is not written for EP7, but for EP6 with EP5 support. In the function: getEP5User is used to retrieve the EP5 user.
If you're not too experienced or just want to try something / PoC it's OK to just copy & paste some sample code. For using this code in an EP7 portal I would recommend to adapt the code.

  • How to make multi user drawing application

how to make multi user drawing application in as 3.0

I'd suggest using Flash Media Interactive Server if you wish to make this type of application and use Flash as the interface.  I can't give you the details on exactly how to implement it, but using Remote Shared Object and FMIS would serve as the basis.  I believe that the package comes with examples of Shared Objects that can serve as a simple basis from which to proceed.  After that you might want to see if you can find an available whiteboard app that can be leveraged to do as you wish.
I apologize in advance if using this type of solution is a non-starter, I've been using FMIS locally and have plans to eventually implement something similar to this type of drawing app as well.

  • How to install multi language in Portal?

    Hi,
Can someone give me the directions in how to install multi
language in Portal? I found the "langinst.cmd" file under
    ORACLE_HOME\portal30\admin\plsql, also another
    file "langinst.sql" under ORACLE_HOME\portal30
    \admin\plsql\nlsres.
I am not quite sure how I can do that, which file I should use.
And once I installed the multi language, can I just go into
portal to create a new content area and using the multi language?
Thanks for any comment in advance!
    Kelly.

    Hi Kelly
You need to identify parameters for this file and run file. Its
langinst.cmd for WINNT and langinst.csh for UNIX.
    1.     From the dos prompt , go to the following directory on
    your server.
         Oracle/iSuites/portal30/admin/plsql/
    2.     Set the Oracle_Home to = oracle/iSuites/
    3.     Run the command
    langinst.csh -s portal30 -p portal30 -o
    PORTAL30_SSO -d PORTAL30_SSO -c oid -l ar -available
    s - schema
    p - password
    o - < login server - in your case it may be portal30_SSO >
    d - <password- maybe portal30_sso>
    c - connect string
l - language (which is set to ar )
ar is arabic which i ve set
    Good Luck

  • Multi-Language Planning application - How to build?

    Hello,
I might need to create a multi-language application for English, Spanish, and French users. I understand that installation localization will support multi-language user interface. However I need pointers on how to go about creating an app with minimal maintenance.
    How do deal with following?
-> Member names: This can be handled through alias tables.
-> Web forms : Should we create similar forms in different languages?
-> Reports: Similar reports in different languages?
-> Business Rules / Calcs: how display names in different langugaes?
    Thanks,
    Amit

You only want a single WindowedApplication component in an
AIR application. For the other windows, use the Window component.
You can then create this window object in response to the user's
    menu selection. See
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/flex/quickstart/launching_windows.html
    for examples of opening windows.

  • How to enable multi-language support in JAVA

i want to make an application whose language will be URDU but how to enablw urdu or any non-english language characters in java.plz help.i am an SCJP.

The partial answer is that you use fonts that can display those characters. But you may also have to address how to enter them from the keyboard, how to store them in databases, how to transmit them via HTTP... depending on your actual requirements.
Start with the "Internationalization" tutorial that is referenced here: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/

  • Provide Multi Language Content in Knowledge Management blank page

    Hi Team,
I have followed the document above from Thomas Kuri, but the result was an empty page with "jj" as text without errors.
My case (SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.0):
    1) I have two folders: "/documents/myCompany/de" with documents written in German and "/documents/myCompany/en" for English written documents
    2) User can choose another language by click at the "English" or "German" link on the Masthead
    3) Dependent on the choosed language, the right document should be shown in the iView.
I already have tryied these ways:
    1) Create a JSP which includes the right KM document
    2) Create a JSP with IFRAME and define the SRC as given in Thomas Kurt's document
    3) Lookup an existing KM documents iView and set the "path" property in runtime
    Thanks.

Edited by: Cengiz Türkoglu on Jan 24, 2010 3:23 PM

    Hi Kirsten,
yes I have found another way. Follow the steps below:
    1) Create a folder in KM (e. g. "MyCompany")
    2) Create two HTML files within the folder (e. g. "mydoc_de.html", "mydoc_en.html")
    3) Dependent on language, write something into this files (e. g. "mydoc_de.html" => "Dies ist das HTML-Dokument mit deutschsprachigem Inhalt", "mydoc_en.html" => "This is the HTML document with English written content")
    4) Start NWDS and create a new Portal Application Project
    5) In the project properties, define the JAR files you need for implementing the solution (bc.jar, com.sap.portal.ivs..jar, com.sap.portal.navigation..jar, com.sap.portal.usermanagementapi.jar, com.sap.security..jar, gl_*.jar). If on server side not available, you must copy/paste the missing JAR file in your projects lib folder
    6) Update portalapp.xml with the entry SharingPreference -> <application><application-config><property name="SharingPreference" value"..."/></aplication-config>
    7) Write your first class (it's a simple Java class) named "PortalKMUtil.java". In this class - that was my solution - I have three methods: a) getUsedLanguage() to read out users langauge, b) getDocContent() to read the documents content named "mycompany_" + USER_LANGUAGE + ".html" and c) getEP5User(). The last method transforms EP6 user into the EP5
    8) The second and last Java class in your project is an AbstractPortalComponent (I18NDocReader.java) with only three line of code. The responsibility of method doContent() is to call PortalKMUtil.getDocContent() with passing two parameters "request" and "mydoc". The return value of PortalKMUtil.getDocContent() - it is of type String - you can write in the response object
    9) On the Portal side, create a new iView and use your own (new created) AbstractPortalComponent as template
    10) Start testing in preview mode. Switch browser language if you can see the right content within the iview
If you need some sources, don't hesitate to write to me.

  • How to insert multi language data to oracle database

    Hi ,
Can any one suggest the steps involved in implementing storage/retrieval of data in the language otherthan english on the database?. I am using Oracle 9i database.
I want to write sql scripts to insert data to the database. How can i insert the data in the language otherthan english i.e hindi. ensuring storage and display of data is fine at the backend.
CHARACTERSET is set AL32UTF8 and need to insert the data in the NVARCHAR2 datatype enabled column.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Poornima

If you can write the text in Notepad, then enter the text and save the file with the encoding "Unicode big endian". Then, open the file in a hex editor. The first two bytes will be 0xFE and 0xFF (this is the Byte Order Mark). This code should be skipped for database storage as it is relevant to flat files only. What follows are two-byte character codes that you can put into UNISTR calls. The file with the word "Patra" will show up in the hex editor as:
    FE FF 09 2a 09 24 09 4d 09 30
If you can enter the characters in your HTML browser, you can use the very useful conversion page at http://rishida.net/tools/conversion/ (this is not an official endorsement from Oracle but my personal advice). Enter the characters into the "Characters" text area and click on the corresponding [Convert] button. The "Hexadecimal code points" field will tell you the codes that you need to prefix with backslash and put into the UNISTR call.
If you are unable to enter the characters on your workstation, then you can identify each letter in the text and look it up in the Unicode character database at http://www.unicode.org/Public/UNIDATA/Index.txt or http://www.unicode.org/Public/UNIDATA/NamesList.txt. The four-digit hexadecimal codes listed there are what you are looking for. Unfortunately, such lookup will not work for Chinese Han and Japanese Kanji characters as they have no names in Unicode.
Another method is to use files in another language-specific encoding and convert them to Unicode before loading them into the AL32UTF8 database.

  • Is there a single, multi-language translation application available?

I am looking for a single application that allows you translate between the major European languages (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portugese).
The best example I can give is the Franklin Translator I had on my Palm TREO. It was one app, it allowed you to enter a word in English and translate it into French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Portugese, or go between any of the languages (i.e. French to German, etc.). It was a very useful application for people that travel in Europe frequently. I supplemented it with SmallTalk which contained useful phrases for travel, hotel, dining, etc. and I was set for survial in Europe.
I have searched the App Store, the Franklin site, and paid for and downloaded numerous applications, but none seem to meet the criteria. After purchasing the Jourist Phrasebook, I saw that it allowed me to select a language to translate from, so I was hoping that as you added Jourist languages, it would be accessible froma single interface, but it is all individual applications. I also looked at the Ultralingua product.
The web-based tools are not effective alternatives as you'll blow through your international data plan in one day when traveling.
Any help, insights, or experience is appreciated!

I just opened up Free Translator and it had English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portugese

  • Multi-Language Flex Application

Hi there, I have to buil a Flex 2 Application, in two
    Language English and Spanish,
I dont want to write my code two times, can some give an
    advice to make it easy?
    Please !

    OK, aboquin:
    Go here,

where you will find the links to learn all you ever wanted to know
but didn’t want to ask about i18n/l10n and Flex 2.
I don’t think Flex 3 could be more
‘unstable’ than Flex 2 – just cruise through
these forums. I have moved a few projects to Flex 3 (including the
ones that I’m working on in 2-3 languages) and have not had
any problems. There are some cool things about Flex 3 that I am
just discovering: besides the Runtime Localization features, I like
the fact that you can use both versions 2 & 3 of the SDK, so
all the Flex 2 projects you may now have will still work as they
are – all you have to do is import them into FB3.
    For FB3, go here:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flex/flexbuilder3/,
where you will find everything you need for Flex 3, including a
good article/tutorial about building localized apps.

Hi everyone, I'm Taiwanese PHP developer, sorry for my poor English.

    Hi Yun Chen,
Not knowledgable on PHP programing, but as far as I know The BIG-5 is specific for traditional Chinese, so that's why you got garbled character for simplified Chinese.
As the Chinese character encoding wiki says, there're newer standards such as
    GB18030 and
Unicode which have separate code points for both simplified and traditional characters. I believe this may be a good starting for you to make the conversion work.
Regarding your description, this is not some specific question on SQL Server. I would suggest you post your question on a dedicated PHP forum. It is more appropriate and more experts will help you.
If you have any question, feel free to let me know.

  • How to design multi-languages site?

    Hi:
I try to store user profile in the database. Since chinese is double
    byte, and english is not.
Does anyone tell me what is advantage and disadvantage to choose

one for double byte user, one for english user?

    hello,
there are several ways to do it. i guess the most practical way is to actually use the XML customization feature that is available with reports or use translation hub, but since you stated that you are using 6i this is not an option as translation hub is only available from 9i onwards.
however the XML customziation approach would work for 6i as well. essentailly you create your report and make sure all your boilerplate text items have a uniqe name. then you can create a customization file for each language that then changes the content of each of the poilerpalte items. those can be applied at runtime or in batch.
as for the scheduling, you would need to either pass in a parameter naming the customization file or simply run the correct language version of the report.
    thanks,
    ph.

  • Does iPlanet portal server provide multi language support?

    HI There,
You should be able to set up multiple languages based on the user locale. You can have different templates for each locale within your custom template dir. By convention the following is the order when the portal server checks for templates:
1.<dir>_<locale> (the localized, cust. directory first)
    2.<dir> (non-localized, cust. directory)
    3.default_<locale> (localized default directory)
    4.default (default directory)
Each locale can obviously support a different language.
    Hope this helps

  • Best practice for developing multi language Website

    Hi all
I want to develop my website in multiple languages and I know that I can put all the msg string in the resource bundle or in the database, however, I think this makes the interface of the web becomes very difficult to develop because I can't see anything in the HTML editor. Another solution is to use XSL that I believe HTML editors is able to display the tagname or some description of the XSL tag but I am not sure about that because I haven't used it before.
Have any expert web developers find a better solution or do you guys think XSL is the best solutions? Any suggestions are very welcome. Thank You!
    From
    Edmond

being not familiar with xsl, I say go for resources. If you define your own tag to display text, it isnt that hard to understand, e.g.
<translate id="hello.world"/>. That at least is how I make multi language website.
