How to remove cover over RAM compartment on a Pavillion g7 1260us

This is my first HP laptop. The Dells I have owned were pretty straightforward when it came to removing the cover over the RAM compartment. This HP has me freakin' stumped. I remove the battery and the only two screws I see holding on the very LARGE L-shaped cover (covers maybe 40% of the underside of this machine). Once the screws are out I cannot go further. Can only pry a corner of the cover up at the battery comparment end of it. There are no "pry slots" and no obvious way to work the thing loose. I don't want to get too physical as I do not want to break the cover. The machine is only a month old! Not that I would want to bust it if it were an older machine.
I need guidance from someone who has added RAM to their Pavillion g7 to tell me, step by step, how to get the bottom off this darned thing. I know what to do with the RAM once I am in. It is the getting it that is holding up the operation.

Well I did finally get the cover off. It was a matter of half-closing my eyes, getting my finger under the corner of the cover at the battery compartment and slowly pulling up harder and harder. Once one of the retaining tabs finally released I could peek under the cover and see the other tab locations. I worked my finger along and pulled up near each tab and the cover finally succumbed to my persistence.
Once in, adding the extra RAM card took maybe a minute. And replacing that cover is WAY easier/faster than getting the darned thing off!

I tryed that several times with no luck at all. i also made a new folder and moved about 30 icons to that folder.After some time all icons automaticly was going back to the programfolder exept 3 icons. enclosing som picture to ilustrate.

Lenovo Flex 2 14: How to remove the compartment cover?

I've got the new Lenovo Flex 2 14 with a 500 gb HHD. Now I want to upgrade to a ssd.
The problem is that the hardware maintenance manual does not specify how to remove the compartment cover in case of the flex 2 14, which has no optical drive like the flex 2 15.
I removed the screws that secure the compartment cover, but there is no way to remove the cover. Does anyone had the same problem and found a solution?
I'd be very grateful for any tips!

In addition to the screws around the compartment cover, have you also removed the screws underneath the keyboard?

Now, I need to remove some, as they are taking up too much space. I cannot figure out how to remove them from the phone. I tried to uncheck boxes and sync again, but I get a message that there is no room on the iphone. I've read as many articles as I can find, but still cannot manage this. Thanks for any help.

I installed 9 over 8 and now I have both versions on my Mac. I called Apple to ask how to remove 8, since it's taking up room.
They said, assuming that you didn't change ANY default folders when you installed 8 and 9, then simply throw away version 8 icons for Logic Pro, Logic Node and MainStage from the Applications folder. Don't throw any other things away from any other folders, as Logic 9 has overwritten the original files in those folders.

Yes, as has been said in many threads here already, if you don't want to run the old versions, just delete the old application bundles.
However, it makes sense to keep them (for a while at least), in case you get an oddities showing up and need to revert to the previous version. It's not like they take up a huge amount of disk space...

The procedure is detailed starting on Page 67 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.
Note: I don't work for HP, but looking at the degree of disassembly required, I would say the procedure may well void the conditions of warranty.

If you are talking about the Newest models, the 21.5" model, there really isn't any way to Upgrade the RAM. The screen is glued to the case.
Take a browse over to iFixIt.com and see the review of the newest model. Very bad repair rating.

There is no much to explain. At the bottom side in the middle there is placed memory cover (fixed with two screws). Remove the cover and you will see 2 slots there. I dont know how much memory has you there but as Stefan said you can use max 2 GB of RAM (2x PC2700 1024MB - PA3313U-1M1G). I'd like to expand the RAM on my iMac G4 800. I read a few discussions and am not quite sure what I can do. Here is what I have and what I want to do:
Have: I have a iMac G4 800 with 512 in the J22 slot and 256 in the J20 slot. I am assuming the J20 slot is the one I can make changes to. Is that right?
Want: I'd like to add a 1 GB DRAM and make my memory 1.5 GB. I realize there is some debate about whether this machine can handle over 1 GB of main memory. So, can I do that?

I'm afraid there is no debate: 1GB is the maximum on the 800MHz iMac.
Personally I don't believe that going from 768MB to 1GB is cost effective on this older Mac given that you will have to throw out a 256MB module.
On my iMac G4 J20 is the internal "Factory" slot which is difficult to access; this notation may be different on the 800MHz model.
Some tips to improve performance:
Quit Safari often; it suffers serious memory leaks that Apple doesn't seem in a hurry to fix and will gobble up your RAM.
Keep your hard disk nice and empty. Once you fill your hard disk above the 85% level you'll start to get fragmentation and the available space for virtual memory is not there.
Use a system maintenance application like MacJanitor (link).
Quit applications when you're not using them.
Have a look in Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor. How much Free and Inactive RAM do you have? If the processor regularly being tasked to 100%? How many Page Outs do you have?
