How to Set COMMIT intervals in ODI

Iam getting around 3 Million records from the source,
In my IKM I have an option for selecting commit interval for 1000 rows. This may reduce my performance.
Could you please provide any thoughts, how to increase the COMMIT interval to 10000 rows or more.

It is not possible to select a different interval. Typically, 1000 rows is suitable and gives you good performances.
If you are looking for better performances, I would recommend to play around the Array Fetch/Batch Update parameters to improve the transfer speed across systems.

How to set timer intervals for object + and a motion for entering stage
Hi, I am making a simple game but I have a couple problems/queries.
1) My game is a touch an object and you get a point game, currently the objects appear randomly over the screen, however I am trying to get it to slide into the screen similar to the Fruit Ninja game, but not limited to entering from one side, does anyone know how to set this?
2) As I mentioned above my objects appear randomly, I have set a timer when I change the timer from 800 to another number, it just makes all the objects on the screen last for 800 milliseconds all at the same time then disappear and appear somewhere else on the screen for another 800 milliseconds and it repeats, what I am trying to do is make them come at different intervals, for example:
Object 1 - constantly appears, so when the 800 millisecond is over, it comes back on a different part of the stage
Object 2 - I want it to appear every 5 seconds, so when the 800 millisecond is over it will come back on the stage in 5 seconds, but not instantly like Object 1
But I have no idea how to do this :/ anyone have the code needed for me to do this?
Sorry for the long questions, I only asked because I really am stuck, I have been trying to do this for over 2 weeks now.

[/Code]The only thing that affects TopLink is the increment by, as increasing this is what allows TopLink to reduce the number of times it needs to go to the database to get additional numbers. Ie, an increment value of 1 means TopLink needs to go the database after each insert; an increment value of 50 allows it to insert 50 times before having to get a value from the sequence. The cache on the sequence object in the database affect the database access times. While it may improve the access times when the sequence number is obtained from the database, but I believe the network access to obtain the sequence is the greater concern and slow down for most applications. It all depends on the application usage and design though - an increment (and application cache) of 50 numbers seems to be the best default.
I cannot say what effect the cache vs nocache settings will have on your application, as it will depend on the database load. Only performance testing and tuning will truly be able to tell you whats best for your application.

How to set commit interval after n rows when generating insert statements?
Hi
I'm trying to generate a sql insert script with a few million rows using SQL Developer 1.5.4.
I can generate insert scripts ok, but can't see anywhere to set the commit interval.
In the preferences screen under migration I see you can set the commit interval under data move options, but I assume this is something different.
I know we could use sql loader, but this insert is part of deployment package which has a series of sql scripts that we need to run together. So I don't want to run a series of sql scripts, then run sql loader, and then go back to sql scripts.
Am i missing something, or is this just not possible with SQL Developer?

PeteUnfortunately, SQL Developer doesn't cover all of the SQL*Plus commands. There is a preference in SQL Developer to switch on autocommit in the SQL worksheet (Tools > Preferences > Database > Worksheet Parameters), but that is presumably every record, rather than every 100 as you are trying to do.
There is a document on SQL Developer's SQL*Plus support (here), but that doesn't list autocommit in either the supported or unsupported sections.

How to set the priority for Commit Server?
Hi all,
I want to know how to set up the priority for committing documents.
I'm having two different odc applications and i want to commit documents belongs to one application (URGENT) as soon as it has complete the indexing. (I'm running commit server every second for this (URGENT) application).
But once the commit server start to commit batches belongs to one application it continues until finishes, and then only it switch to the URGENT application even though indexed documents are there.I have tested with batch priority, Batch status fields in commit server.
What is exactly happen in setting batch priority ?
How do i switch commit serve to run urgent batches (which is belongs to another application) as soon as indexed??
I can use ODC or ODDC.

How to set the number of seconds a servlet is allowed to run
I use JSP to generate a report, but it will take about 10 minutes to search.
IE Client screen displays an error message what is "Cannot find out your page" after 8 minutes. How to set the number of seconds a servlet is allowed to run.It's not a matter of how long the servlet is running... it's the browser timing out because the servlet hasn't responded to its request.
You have several options:
1) "Browser Pinging"
Your servlet sends some small data which can be either seen or unseen (html comments, hidden chars, etc) by the user at short intervals while your report is running. When the report is finished, the browser will not have timed out because it has been "snacking" on those small bits of data which tell the browser its original request was both heard and being handled. I don't think there is any timeout in IE as long as it receives data continually (or at least before its own timeout mark over and over again...)
2) Multithreaded processing
This would probably be a better approach. Have the report run in a separate thread running on the server. You'd want to store a reference to this executing report in the user's session. Instead of making the browser wait for the report to be finished, have the servlet check the user's session to see if a report exists and is running. If one does not exist, create one and start its execution. If one does exist, and is still running, print a "please wait" type of message OR an animation, etc... along with some javascript which will reload the page every few seconds. If the page reloads and the servlet sees that the report is finished, it can then display it to the user.

when you enter 10kb file, the database will only use 10kb to store the file (depending on block size etc)
if you want to modify the blob size, you may do like this:

How to set password entered by user in the custom self registration app?

I am trying to create a customized self registration page on the portal logon page using Webdynpro JAVA application. Now the problem I am facing is that I am not able to identify how to set the initial password for the user in the portal that is entered by the user while registering through the application.
I am using the object as:

How to set a default "from" field on outgoing Mail message
i read through the last few pages of this support forum and googled my topic but i havent found a suitable solution.
in Mail v 3 (3.4) there is a "From:" field in any outgoing mail. very useful for those of us with multiple non-accounts and/or .Mac aliases. i generally set a specific outgoing mail server (so that field is removed from outgoing email).
my problem is how to set a default outgoing email address so that my recipients always get from a certain (eg work) email address when i am at work. at work, anything i send, i want to show my work email without always having to manually select the "FROM" field in the outgoing email.
( aside: i had read that Mail version 3 was supposed to auto-select any reply so that the reply would come from the same email i orginally sent as. this does not work on my mac.)
This problem is exacerbated as Mail auto-rotates between my 4 email accounts/aliases (which are all listed (correctly) in the FROM field. it would be great if this list could be fixed with a default FROM address.
eg i send an email from my work email address (FROM: [email protected]) the next email i send will be rotated through my list of .mac aliases. i.e. the next email i send will not be from [email protected], but from [email protected] the next time it might move on to [email protected] or it might revert to [email protected]
any thoughts on how to fix?
i have tried deleting the home/library/preferences/com.apple.mail.plist. that is fine, but any .mac aliases (which i do use, but i dont want to be listed in the "FROM" field) are listed in the "FROM" field, and are auto-switched through my Mail again.
i looked through Rules and Automator, but no obvious help there. any thoughts?Did you try Preferences > Accounts > Account Information and entering these other email aliases in the Email Address: field, separated by commas? That would give you a pop-down menu in the New Message window letting you choose which alias to use when sending an email.
If you go to Preferences > Composing, there should be a pop-down menu near the middle of that window labeled "Send new mail from:" which will let you choose any email address you have entered in the Account Information field mentioned above, or "Account of last viewed mailbox" as the default.

SCMA - How to set automatic refresh
So doing the financial close is cumbersome enough without having to refresh the Schedule Manager every 10 seconds! I know in RZ20 you can set refresh intervals for monitors, but I have no idea if SCMA is in there or not. Could anyone direct me as to how to set up SCMA to refresh automatically after a certain number of seconds?

Depending on the type of mail account, yes or no. Go into Settings > Accounts and edit the email account in question. If, on the main screen and/or the Advanced screen, you see a field for "Sync Timeframe", then you can control it. If you do not see that field, then you cannot control it.

How to set Oracle Data Integrator Timeout paramter value as unlimited
Hi
Can any one help me how to set Oracle Data Integrator Timeout (ODI menu>User Paramter>Oracle Data Integrator Timeout > paramter value as unlimited.
By default it is 30 and i want to change it as unlimited.
I am connecting linux box through windows using citrix and opened ODI and start the scenario execution (my scenario execution in loop and it will execute continuesly) after execution starts I an logout from citrix (I am not closing ODI) and after some time like 50 min my odi execution is stoped due to timeout.
my ODI execution should continue in my absence that to unlimited.
Please help me it is urgent

Is it work for unlimited in linux box because I have given operator dispplay limit(0=no limit) as 1000000 and I am unable to see the execution session details on Operator>session list
later i have changed to 10000 and click on ok and just refreshed and it is working fine
If I give mensioned below it will not impact on ODI ?
windows it is working but I have doubt on linux version

i am getting fixed value in backing_bean.this value is not coming form VO.how to set this value in doDML.because i want to save this fixed value(this value changing in backing_bean from UIpage) into database.
actually i am using fixed list box values(these are not from VO) in UIPage and after submitting i am getting this vaue in backing_bean and some updatable table is displaying in UIpage.after filling some values in the updatable table and i am pressing commit button then i have to set this value into one table in databse.
all updated values are saving because i am using ADF table.now i have to save this list value also in one of the column in this table.
How to set this value into doDML?
please help me.
Thanks,Have you thought of creating a "transient" attribute in your EO or VO, that stores the fixed list box value? Then in the doDML method you could grab this attribute's value and update the other EO attribute you're interested in.
Alternatively in the transient attributes setter in the EO, you could write the code to update the other EO attribute.
