Import 5508 Controller Config from NME-AIR-WLC25?
Greetings!
For 3 years now, I've been using an NME-AIR-WLC25 controller with an ever-increasing number of AP's (reaching the 25 limit a few months ago). As part of a new construction project, I'm adding 5 more AP's onto my network. As a result, I purchased a 5508 controller with a 50AP license to get me started.
My question is simple-- is it possible to import the WLC25's configuration to the 5508? I have a feeling the answer is no, but I figure it can't hurt to ask, and if I'm lucky it will save me quite a bit of time configuring this new controller.Yes, I'm running 7.0.116.0 on the WLC25 today, so that sounds promising.
I've already downloaded the config file from the WLC25, and I did notice it looked pretty basic command-line, so I was certainly hoping that to be the case.
If the 5508 firmware is newer (I haven't even unboxed it yet), do you expect I'd run into trouble importing the old config, or should I version match first, import, then upgrade to latest?
Any other gotchas I should look out for in doing this? -
How to setup iPad air with apple id?
Our setup - Mac Pro 2009 model at home. My wife and I each with our own iphone. We both share the same Apple ID in order to use the same purchased music, apps, etc.
She just got an Ipad air yesterday and we're trying to setup imessage on the ipad. If she enters in my email address associated with our shared apple ID - message sent by her appear from me. So we added her email address as an additional email - now messages from her come under her name and also under the phone number associated with the apple id.
what is the solution to have imessages from her Ipad come from her?is it aol id for apple as make sure you've selected that. other wise contact apple as get them to sort it,

Will a NME-AIR-WLC25-K9 bolt onto existing infrastructure?
Interested in facilitiating the ability for the receptionist (or anyone for that matter) to be able to create a day pass for guest wireless access. The idea being that the guest would receive a pass that allows them access to a site's <20 access points for a predetermined amount of time, in this case the business day providing a path to an dedicated guest Internet circuit.
1) Is this NM able to be added to the existing operating environment without completely taking over? in other words can it be added to perform it's function for guest wireless but ignore the current configuration (with limits obviously) and not have issues with changes being made to the APs via other mechanisms?
2) can these NMs be added to an enterprise autonomously at individual sites, in other words in an enterprise filled with APs can there be a few of these that are only responsible for their respective sites/subnets without any conflict?
The VLAN path would be (for example) 1242->3560->4506->3845->I, so I'm guessing that all Cisco means there wouldn't be an issue there, but I'm mentioning it just in case of device limitations
All input feedback welcome; thanks in advance.Yes, I'm running 7.0.116.0 on the WLC25 today, so that sounds promising.

WLAN Clients not browsing on Cisco Wireless Controller WLC NME-AIR-WLC12-K9
HiI have a question and i need a solution and expert help.I have done a deployment which involves Security (ASA5540), Routing/voice gateway/wlc NME-AIR-WLC12-k9) and Switching (Cisco3845-ccme/k9)Below is the list of equipment used:1. Cisco ASA 5540 - which is connected at the edge to the ISP router
2. Core Switch WS-C4948E as core and DHCP Server for all VLANs
3. Access/Distribution Switches WS-C3560G-48PS-S connected as trunk to the core switch
4. Router/Voice Gateway/WLC Cisco3845-CCME/K9 - This is the voice gateway and also the WLC
5. Wireless APs AIR-LAP1242AG-E-K9 (12 qty)Here is the deployment scenario:1. G0/0 of the ASA is connected to a 7200 router from the ISP (Public IP Add)
2. G0/1 of the ASA is connected to gig 1/3 on the Core Switch on VLAN 2 which is the management VLAN (Local IP 10.1.1.2)
3. Port 3 of the Core switch is on vlan 2 connected to ASA - Management IP of Core Switch is 10.1.1.1. Core Switch is the DHCP Server for all VLANS on the network.
4. All the Access/Distribution switches are configured with IP Addresses on VLAN 2
5. Telephony Services is configured on the router and DHCP Pool for Access Points and Wireless Clients is running on the router.
6. Two DHCP pools were created on the router for APs and Wireless Clients.
7. G0/0 of the router is configured on the same network that issues dhcp ip to the AP and is connected to gig 1/1 on the core switch
8 G0/1 of the router is configured as the voice port for the IP Telephony Services and is connected to G 1/2 on the core switch1. Clients receiving DHCP IP on the Core Switch can communicate with all vlans and can browse to the Internet.
2. IP Telephony Services is running well.
3. Client on wireless can get IP from the DHCP on the router but cannot browse.I have pings from the router to the core switch and firewall, but clients connected to the wireless
cannot ping other vlans on the core switch and vice versa. The port connecting the router to the core switch is an Access Port, i have changed to to trunk but still no changes. My biggest problem now is how to make the clients on the wireless communicate with other clients on the network and be able to browse to the Internet.Below is the configs on the router and core switch.Router ConfigNimc_Voice_Router#sh run

Please i need somebody to help meI wouldn't configure an ip address on the service engine subinterface.
Try setting up a vlan interface on the router with that ip address and the subinterface will be linked to the vlan interface through the encapsulation command. A vlan interface will better work as a gateway for the wireless clients

You cannot use ActiveSync for that, but there are SharePoint clients for the iPhone. Windows Mobile 7 natively supports SharePoint with SharePoint Workspace Mobile, part of Microsoft Office Mobile. Android and BlackBerry might also have some apps.

How to setup three SharePoint sites on one server?
Hello,
How to setup three SharePoint sites on one server? I have three sites like:
http://site1
http://site2
http://site3
And need to have them running up on one server. I recall some changes need to be done to the host file, but not sure. Can you advise on what to change?
Thanks,
Paul

How to setup multiple base station under one network?
How to setup multiple base station under one network? I have 6 rooms but one airport base station makes really difficult to get good signal from every rooms. I wonder if I can setup multiple airport base stations talking to each other under the same network to build up the signal strength will help solve this problem. But, is it possible? How?
One route would be to utilize a "roaming" network. In a roaming network, you would connect multiple AirPort Extreme Base Stations (AEBS) to the same Ethernet. Of course, this would require that your home is already wired for Ethernet.

How to Setup SSL on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1..2)
Hi All,
Can anybody tell me How to setup the SSL on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2).
I have all the required documents like
1. Oracle Application Server Portal Server Configuration Guide.
2. Oracle Application Server Web Cache Configuration Guide.
3. Oracle Application Server SSO Administration Guide.
I tried to follow all this documents but still i am not able to set SSL for Oracle Portal Server. The Portal Configuration Guide, available on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/appserver1012.html does provide some very specific information on how to set up OracleAS Portal.
Section 6.3.2.1 Configuring SSL for OracleAS Portal describes various configurations, such as:
SSL to OracleAS Single Sign-On
SSL to OracleAS Web Cache
SSL Throughout OracleAS Portal
External SSL with Non-SSL Within Oracle Application Server
For larger enterprise configurations, you can refer to the Enterprise Deployment Guide.
Can you give a bit more background on what you are trying to set up? Which scenario, what sort of hardware, software versions, and so on.

How to setup a static IP for a wireless printer
This problem has been ongoing for several versions of OS X and the last five printers I've had and I'm finally over messing with it. For some reson, when using a wireless printer with OS X this is a repetetive problem, and I think if I configured the printer to a static IP address instead of using DHCP, it might work better. At least once a week, if not more often, I'll print something and get the ubiquitous Dock error of "Printer is not connected". The printer is still in Preferences, but if I delete it, then it doesn't show up as it should for selection.
The only way to fix this is reboot, and then the printer shows up again in Preferences. I select it and all is well again...until a few days pass and the same thing happens again. Using an HP LaserJet P1102w, still a current model, but it doesn't matter which printer I use. I also have an Epson Artisan 725 and the same thing happens with it about once a week. Also, this happens from both my Mac and my wife's Mac, so it's not an issue with just my machine.
I've searched for documentation on how to setup a static IP address for a wireless printer with the Airport Extreme, but all I find are tutorials on how to do it with an ethernet hard-wired printer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You could set up your router to do manual assignment of IP address instead of using DHCP, but that is a PITA, because then you'd have to manually set up IP for all your devices.
If you have AirPOrt Extreme, you could do this:
In your Apple TV, go to the Settings >> About and write down the MAC address of your ATV
Start up the AiPort Admin Utility
Go to Network tab
click + in the DHCP reservations
Choose an IP you want for your ATV & Enter the MAC address
From now on, this IP address will be reserved to the MAC address and only your ATV will be able to get it, no other device will.
It is not a static IP in a true sense, but behaves just like one.
Works great for me...
If you don't have a AP Extreme, I'm sure other routers will allow you do reservations too. -
How do i get air play to work from my macbook to apple tv
How do i get air play to work from my macbook to apple tv? It does work with some programs like itunes but I can't get it to work with safari.
apple tv does not work in safari. there is no web browsing capabilities on the apple tv..
however what you are probably referring to is mirroring? iPad 2 and iPhone 4s have mirroring capabilities, so what you have on the screen is exactly what would appear in the apple tv..
on ipad for example...ignore the settings page. Instead, go to the iPod controls. Double-press your home button to see the multitasking bar, showing all your recent apps. Swipe your finger from right to left for the mirroring icon; you'll see the AirPlay icon. Tap on that, select your Apple TV and toggle the mirror button to 'on'. -
