How to source a database .env file?

I know there is envshell.cmd under APPL_TOP so when I run it create envrionment for Application tier.
But I do not see envshell.cmd under RDBMS_HOME, so how can I source database .env file?

As you know the database environment file will be under $RDBMS_ORACLE_HOME, Just run the file using windows command syntax. But in unix,it is . <SID>_HOSTNAME.env file.

How we restore the database dmp file in Oracle10g express edition

please provide me answers as soon as possible...my database is fresh and i want to restore the dmp file in my database, that dmp file is exported by oracle 10g database on other machine.

there is no impdb or expdb command. There is an imp (for import) and exp (for export).
I assume you want to replace the existing database with the one on your laptop.
A much better and more efficient way to do this would be to backup the database on your home machine and then restore it to your office database.
but before you do anything, backup the database you are copying/importing to (backup option is available on the windows menu or its a batch or shell script in the appropriate directory)

2) trying to connect oracle using the command sqlplus -s username/password
showing error SQLPLUS: not found
Do i need to go any path where oracle is install? iF yes, how to find out that? or any other step to connect? Please help me by giving the sequence of steps...

Would you please tell me which one is the apps env file under ...\apps\apps_st\appl? I have seen many like:
APPSVIS_home.cmd, envshellVIS_home.cmd, VIS_home.cmd. Which one I should use? What are they?

Hi,
But some one told me to use envshellvis_p23g.cmd. I am confused.You have to run envshell<CONTEXT_NAME>.cmd file and this file will call other environment files (cmd files) under %APPL_TOP% (you could simply view the context of this file and see what other scripts it calls).

How to get the source code in PAR file

Hi All,
I used the PAR migration tool to migrate from PAR to EAR file. When I imported the EAR into NWDS 7.3, I was just able to see the structure and jsp files and could not find the java source code files. I would requires the java source code to make modifications so that deprecated APIs can be replaced and to also make the code compatible with JDK 1.6.
I think the original 7.0 PAR file itself does not contain the source code. I decided to use the "Include source code" option when exporting the 7.0 PAR.
I have the portal application DC project in my NWDS 7.0. However, when I try to export the PAR file using Export --> PAR File -- > Next... I am unable to select any project from the list. The list appears blank with disabled Next & Finish buttons.
I also noticed that in the portal DC application structure, there is a .sda file under /gen/default/deploy. Also there is no PAR folder under /gen/default/public.
How do I include the source in the PAR file so that I can edit the same after migrating to EAR format ?

DC and PAR/EAR stuff are different formats, SC/DC is an archive type used by NWDI, if I got it right.
How do I go about generating the PAR file (with source) ?
In fact through including the seources while creating the PAR/EAR in NWDS, but: no need to do that, you can also depack SDA (rename it to zip). If you wanna just see the Java sources you will find them there, otherwise decompile as Vijay already sad.

How to recover the database when some of the archive log file get deleted.

I am facing a problem with Oracle database, which is related to archivelogs.
Our development database is running in archivelog mode, but we don't have backups scheduled and have no recovery catalog.
When the database was in running condition, disk got full, so some archivelogs were deleted manually.
After this they restarted the DB, and now DB is not coming up. Errors are as follows:

Hi,
Archive log files are the copies of redolog files.As redo log files are circularly overwritten,oracle generates archive log file of the corresponding redo logfiles being overwritten.So if you have a backup that dates back to 10 am in the morning and if your database creashed at 3 pm,you cannot use the redo log files alone as they have incomplete information.To completely recover the database upto 3 pm,you need archive log files generated between 10 am to 3 pm. In your case since you are missing one archive log file,you cannot perform complete recovery and hence would suffer data loss.

here u can specify any name of ur wish

For Oracle version from 9i the steps are :
Perform Cold Backup of the Production database
1. Note down the datafile, controlfile and redologfile locations on proddb
2. Shutdown the production database Ensure clean shutdown.
3. Copy the database files (datafiles, logfiles, controlfiles and parameter file) into the clone destination.
4. Modify the parameter CONTROL_FILES in the pfile for clonedb to reflect
the new path of the control files.
1. Mount the database and rename the datafiles and redolog files.
export ORACLE_SID=clonedb
DB02> sqlplus / as sysdba
DB02> startup mount
DB02> alter database rename file '/u01/<path_to_proddb_files>/<filename>' to '/u01/<path_to_clonedb_files>/<filename>'
2. Rename the database with the dbnewid (nid) utility
3. Edit the pfile and update the new database name
Modify parameter DB_NAME to reflect the new database name.
also ensure you make necessary changes to the environment for ORACLE_SID, ORACLE_HOME
as needed.
4. Open the clone database.
