How to store output in memory id for performance

Hi All,
There is a customized report where output is huge and unable to download the output file to PC generated through background job.
Is there any option to store the output file in memory id similar to SAve with ID functionality of SQVI - Query Quick Viewer.
Thanks
Prat

Hi Prat,
The standard report BALVEX01 has all the steps neccessary for using ALV extracts. may be you can copy the program and use some other table instead of sflight and test it. usage of extracts is quite simple:
1. Include vex01top will give you the selection screen elements needed for extracts
2. REUSE_ALV_EXTRACT_AT_SELSCREEN can be used for validation of the extract fields
3. likewise REUSE_ALV_EXTRACT_AT_F4_P_EX1 is for f4 help on extract fields
4. the major part is REUSE_ALV_EXTRACT_SAVE which saves the data to the extract with the name as mentioned on the selection screen & REUSE_ALV_EXTRACT_LOAD returns the data that is saved in the extract previously.
5. if the user uses the same name for save the old extract data will be over written. but before that system will genrate a warning message.
if you look at the standard report with the brief i think you should be able to get the information you need.
cheers, Prabhu

    You can't store the sq01 output into internal table.
    Once you create the query it will generate the abap program, in that program you can see the contents.

  • How to avoid the double memory assignment for an array which I connected to the shift register?

    Hi,
    I need to read a big block of data into an array. When I stop the program and then restart, I hope  the program to use the previously load arrary instead of reloading it. So I put the initiat Data loading in a for loop (N =1) and connect the array to a shift Register. The problem here is it assigns memory twice,  for the initiator data loading and shift register. Is there any way to limit the memory assaignment to 1 since I only need one copy.
    Thanks.

    Your current code is way too confusing, so I assume that the full code makes more sense. The program is unusable because the main FOR loop gets locked in an inner loop that consumes all CPU doing nothing.
    I think that branching the main array into the (1) case structure and (2) inner while loop costs you an extra allocation. Here's a more reasonable way to do things. It elimiates the buffer allocation going into the case structure.

  • How to store values in session variables for use later

    I am trying to read user input from a form, lookup some values from a database,
    store the combined data into session to retrieve later in the subsequent pages
    in a pageflow application. Could someone guide me as to how exactly to do this?
    The documentation doesn't seem to be of much help.
    Thanks,

    Krishna,
         If you will be using the data within the course of the same page flow
    or nested page flows then you should store the data in the page flow
    itself. Simply declaring variables in the .jpf will do this. The page
    flow is stored in the session for you and it is deleted when the user
    exits the page flow. This is good because it keeps down session size.
         If you have data that you want to use across page flows then you will
    need to store in the session or globalApp.
         Here is a link to "Using Data Binding in Page Flows" it has an example
    of storing data into the session and it goes into the pros and cons of
    using each data binding scope.

  • How to store beyond the range value for a given data type!!!

    Hi all,
    I want to know.Is it possible to create a new data type like int,float in java. which can store any number without any range restrictions.As you know the range of byte data type is -128 - + 127.I don't want any range restrictions.The data type should be able to grow dynamically.
    Regards!!
    Tameshwar Sahu

    The only solution I can think of is to use java objects, Im not sure youll be able to create a new primitive for java !!
    Youd have to put together Integers, posibly in a vector depending on how HUGE a number youd like to create.
    If you reached the max of one, add another to the vector. and then continue with the next.. The problem with this of course is the fact that math operations, will be a bit of a challenge to code. also actuall representation of the value would be a bit tricky as well !! There are however ways to go about this, you just have to think about it a little.

  • How to prevent Output to be generated for Return Purchase Order.

    The system uses standard Output Type NEU for message. And condition record maintained for generating output (print/email) while saving.

  • How to store output data in JCOP scripts?

    Hello!
    I want to create JCOP script files that can use the output data from one call as input data to the next. Is this possible? If yes, how do I do it?
    like:
    /send command
    ->outputdata 9000
    /send command+outputdata
    Thanks in advance!

    I modified the test script from the JCOP Tools user guide. Additionally you can use the substring and length modifier to use only a part of the response.
    /mode echo off
    /mode trace off
    # reset the card and select the applet
    /atr
    /select |dennycrane
    if ${response} != '9000'
       /echo "Denny not in the house."

    can content (ie: rail system map in Ireland) found on internet be saved on ipad and retrieved when internet not available?

    I use iBooks to store and organize my PDFs. You can get iBooks free from the App Store.
    If your are viewing a PDF in Safari you can tap the PDF and get the option to "Open in iBooks." once you open the PDF in iBooks you can create different collections and store related items together.
    Besides getting PDFs from Fari you can receive them in emails. Tap to get the open in iBooks choice.
    If the PDFs are on the computer you normally sync with you can copy them into the Book section of iTunes on your computer so that the next time you sync they will be copied to your iPad. Once on your iPad you can move them into Collections that you might have created.

  • How to preload sound into memory to improve performance?

    Hello all
    I have an application where it needs to play 4 different short wave files on some events. The wave files are small (less then 1 sec each) so they can be preloaded into memory. But I don't really know how to do that.. This is my current code... Performance is really important here, so the faster users can hear the sounds, the better...
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.sound.sampled.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    public class PlaySound implements ActionListener
         private Clip clip = null;

              if (clip != null)
                   clip.stop();
                   clip = null;
              loadClip(name);
              clip.start();
         private void loadClip(String fnm)
              try
                   AudioInputStream stream = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(new File(fnm + ".wav"));
                   AudioFormat format = stream.getFormat();
                   DataLine.Info info = new DataLine.Info(Clip.class, format);
                   if (!AudioSystem.isLineSupported(info))
                        JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "Unsupported sound line", "Warning!", JOptionPane.WARNING_MESSAGE);
                   else
                        clip = (Clip) AudioSystem.getLine(info);
                        clip.open(stream);
                        stream.close();
              catch (Exception e)
                   JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "loadClip E: " + e.toString(), "Warning!", JOptionPane.WARNING_MESSAGE);
         public static void main(String[] args)
              play("a wav file name");
    }     I would appreciate it if someone can point out how I can preload them to improve performance... Thanks in advance!

    The message above should be:
    OMG, me dumb you smart Florian...
    Thank you for your suggestion... It's not the best OR anything close to what I thought it would be, it's certainly one way to do it and better then what I've got now...

  • How/What can we monitor in DB02 for performance testing?

    We are conducting a performance test/load before golive of HCM in SAP.
    I am looking at DB02 but have NO idea of what to monitor for? there is so MUCH
    Any suggestions, would certainly be appreciated asap
    Thank you so much!
    maria

    Well, rather than trying to explain in the forum, I suggest you download the document "The SAP DBA Cockpit for Microsoft SQL Server" from:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/1062428c-f1df-2910-b08f-c322feddcd10?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    This will explain everything you need to know about DB02 transaction for MS SQL server. You can read through it find out what all monitoring can be done.
    You can check the following Areas:
    Performance (ST04)
    Space (DB02)
    Configuration = Some ST04 detail screens plus new ones
    Diagnostics = Some ST04 and DB02 detail screens plus new ones
    Frankly, Space and performance are the main areas.
    Refer to the guide and this should solve all your doubts.
