How to switch New TAB/New Window in click right menu link ? Firefox 4

Hi there,
I just installed Firefox4. I was near perfect although they switch Open in New Tab/Window position.
I fixed yet when clicking right on a link using userChrome.css following settings :
<pre><nowiki>
#context-openlink {
-moz-box-ordinal-group: 1 !important;
#contentAreaContextMenu > * {
-moz-box-ordinal-group: 2;
}</nowiki></pre>
Anyway i have still the same when right clicking on a bookmark/menu url - it show :
Open
Open in new Tab
Open in new Window
New bookmark...
New folder...
Anybody have an idea to set option in userChrome.ss 'cause atm i'm out.
Thanks in advance,
Golkran

Try this:
Open your userChrome.css
<br>
Then, insert this code:
&#35;contentAreaContextMenu > #context-openlink { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 1 !important; }
&#35;contentAreaContextMenu > * { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 2 !important; }
&#35;placesContext_open { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 0 !important; }
&#35;placesContext> menuitem[id="placesContext_open"] { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 0 !important; }
&#35;placesContext> menuitem[id="placesContext_open:newwindow"] { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 2 !important; }
&#35;placesContext> menuitem[id="placesContext_open:newtab"] { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 3 !important; }
&#35;placesContext> * { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 3 !important; }
Then restart Firefox.
When I right click on a bookmark, I can see this order:
Open
<br>
Open in new window
<br>
Open in new tab
such as in Firefox 3.
I also installed the Menu Editor add-on to change the order of this menu, but it works only with link within a page, not for bookmarks.
With the previous code in userChrome.css file, it works also with right click on a bookmark.
I hope this solution will be useful for many users, because I found more difficult to solve the problem.
For Firefox Community: where can we find syntax such as the above?
For example, for "placesContext", "placesContext_open:newtab" and so on?
I tryed many combinations of parameters, before find the solution that solve the problem.
Best regards.

    Firefox sent an email to me to confirm that I had asked the above question. The email had a link to click. When I clicked it from Firefox, nothing happened. Then I opened IE, signed into Comcast, opened the email, clicked the link, and it brought me here.

  • I can't get Firefox to open a new tab each time I click on a link or favorite. It keeps loading onto the current tab.

    I went to Tools>Options>Tabs and entered a check mark next to the first entry, "Open New Windows in a New Tab Instead" but it still does not open a new tab each time I click on a link or one of my favorites. It used to way back in earlier versions of Firefox but hasn't for the past few iterations...am I doing something wrong or do I need to activate something else within Firefox?

    That option only controls pages that would open in a new window based on the code on the website page you are visiting.
    Firefox's default is to open a link or a Bookmark in the currently selected tab.
    You have some options to have links and/or Bookmarks open in a new tab:
    *middle-click the link or Bookmark (middle-click = press the mouse scroll wheel)
    *CTRL+left-click the link or Bookmark
    *right-click the link or Bookmark and choose "Open in New Tab"
    *install one of the following and set the options to automatically open links or Bookmarks in a new tab:
    **'''''Tab Utilities Lite''''': https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-utilities-lite/
    **'''''Tab Utilities''''' (a few more options than the "Lite" version): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-utilities/

  • How to open a new pop-up window on click of a link using OAFunctions

    Hi ,
    I have a requirement to open a new pop-window on click of the responsibility name(functions available under responsibilities). The current URL /link is driven using OAFunctions.
    Any idea, how can i open a new window while still keeping the parent window as it is?
    Regards
    Puja

    This can be achieved, you need to first create the javascript function which will open the popup and add that to the HomePage through and then call that function during onLoad of the HomePage. Here is a code sample,
    1. Extend the page level controller and write a new controller
    2. Write the following code in processRequest before calling super.
    StringBuffer popupScript = new StringBuffer("function customPopUp() { ");
    popupScript.append("newWindow = window.open(theURL,'newWindow','toolbar=no,menubar=no,resizable=no,scrollbars=no,status=no,location=no,width=300,height=500);}");
    pageContext.putJavaScriptFunction("customPopUp", new String(popupScript));
    OABodyBean bodyBean = pageContext.getRootWebBean();
    bodyBean.setOnLoad("customPopUp");
    3. Use personalization to replace the existing controller with your extended controller and the popup should be launched whenever you enter the homepage.

  • How do I stop firefox from going to a new tab inmediately after I click on a link? I have checked my options settings and that option is not clicked. Is there anything else I can do to fix this?

    It started happening today, and I've tried just about everything I can thing off. Clearing cookies, removing the program and installing it again., restarting my computed. Please help

    This issue can be caused by the GoodSearch Toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)
    See:

  • When I click a link it just doesn't open. In a new tab or window the same link connects instantly.

    On occasion when I click links in Firefox nothing happens. The connection doesn't seem to be made, I can click repeatedly, and still it doesn't follow the link. Then when I open a new tab, or window, and paste the same link, it goes instantly. Someone mentioned that this may be a Firefox addon problem. Is there any solution to this non-connecting problem I seem to be having?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Has been occuring for ages

    Looking at your installed extensions, I would be guessing either the Free Download Manager plugin or Skype extension (last is unlikely as it's deactivated, but you never know..).
    You can test if it's an add-on problem by starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] - if there is no longer an issue in Firefox Safe Mode, it is almost certain that one of the add-ons are at fault.

  • How to open up new tab or window in 5800 browser?

    hey, just wondering how you can open up a new tab or window while browsing without exiting the current one.
    Sometimes when i click a link, a new window opens, and a little '2' appears at the top of the browsing screen indicating that 2 pages are open, and i know you can flip through the pages by clicking the 'three lined button' and then 'switch win', but im asking how can you just open a new page without exiting a current one?

  • Problems using right click to open in new Tab or Window. Will not work. How do you solve this. Have v5.0 installed.

    I have the latest version of Firefox installed. Version 5.0.
    When searching on Google and use right-click to open in new tab or window. Keep getting blank tab.
    Can somebody advise how to solve this.
    Thank you.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
    You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

    How can I set home page for a new tab? how can i get firefox to open the home page every time i open a new tab in Windows vista home basic??
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

    Firefox can have multiple home pages if you wish. Each home page that will open when starting Firefox is separated by the "|" character.
    See: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
    To have new tabs open a specific web site, add one of the following extensions:

  • Open in new tab or window doesn't work. How can I fix this?

    I just upgraded to 36.01. When I right click on a link the menu of options is long and confusing. When I select open in a new tab or new window, it does nothing. What can I do to reduce the options list and how to fix the open new tab or window option?

    Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
    If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
    Try a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
    *Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop<br>https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
    If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
    *Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox
    Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
    If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

  • ADF EBS Integration - How to open the ADF page in new tab or window

    Hi,
        We are building ADF custom applications and want to integrate them with EBS R12 (12.1.3) through Responsibilities and Menus.
    We have achieved session sharing and launching the Custom ADF app from EBS menu. The problem is, the Custom ADF page opens in the same page.
    Is there anyway to open the ADF application in new tab or window while launching from EBS Menu ?
    Highly appreciate your help on this.

  • How do I set Firefox to open items in the same window instead of a new tab or window?

    I want to be able to open items (such as click on the results of a search) and not have it open in a new tab or window, just open in the same window (as the search results).

    See:
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.link.open_newwindow
    *1: current tab; 2:new window; 3:new tab;
    For links opened via JavaScript you can look at this pref:
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction
    You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar.
    You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

  • How do I open a new tab/new URL from a plugin's sidebar?

    I have created a plugin with a sidebar. I would like to be able to change the URL of the current tab in the sidebar's window or open a new tab, given that I click a button in the sidebar (or an event is triggered in the sidebar). I am currently using the following Javascript code to go to a new URL:
    content.location = newURL;
    However, I have other buttons in the sidebar that open new (small) windows. If I first click one of these buttons to open a new window, then the above code fails; it changes the URL of the tab in THAT NEW WINDOW, not in the window of the sidebar. How do I change this?
    This also seems to be complicated by the fact that the sidebar document does not have a parent. Any tips are appreciated!

    Hi fireferret817,
    Thank you for your question, however development questions are best answered in stackoverflow.com or the mozllazine.com forums.
    If there are any differences made when you change the behavior of opening up a new url this option can be found in the Preferences/Options > Tab menu.

    Hi Yashpal,
    Please test it with custom tile and specify the Target URL instead of Semantic Object flag in the Navigation setting.
    Specify the app "#" + Semantic Object + "-" action after the FioriLaunchpad.html.
    https://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/ui2/ushell/shells/abap/FioriLaunchpad.html#SalesOrder-track
    You will loose some navigation functions like app to app navigation with this.
