How to update BT Home Hub 3 manually.

This is a tutorial guide on how to upgrade the firmware on the HH3 manually. If your HH3 won't update you can manually update it assuming you have the right files. You go to 192.168.1.254/firmware_upgrade you may also need to login.

That is a pretty big assumption. Do you have any files for 3b for example?

  • Manual Firmware Update for Home Hub 2?

Due to a seperate problem mentioned on another thread, I am having to use my Home Hub 2 as an additional wireless AP with my Home Hub 3 as primary router.
My HH2 is on an outdated firmware version but doesn't get updated as it is not directly connected to the ADSL connection, only via ethernet to my HH3.
Is there a way I can apply the lastest firmware to my HH2 without having to use it as my primary router for a period of time?

Hi unfortunately no the only way is with them on-line

im trying to update my iphone to the new software. i couldnt do it cuz i need to download itunes 10.7,i cant download itunes 10.7 cuz i need MAC OS X higher than 10.4(which is what i have now) i just want to update my iphone! HELP!!!!

    1) Make sure your computer meets Snow Leopard technical specifications - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575  This mostly means making sure it is an Intel Mac (yours is) and has at least 1GB RAM (more is recommended).  To check RAM, go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then  "About This Mac". Now continue to "More Info...".  It should say you have at least 1GB of "memory".
    2) Apple no longer carries 10.6 in its stores or online. Telephone Apple to purchase a Snow Leopard disc. In the USA: (800) 676-2775 (contact information for other countries: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57)
Alternatively you can buy from online retailers but anticipate paying much more than the original price which is the price still charged by Apple
    3) Backing up your computer before upgrading is always a good idea.
    4) After installing from the DVD, update your Snow Leopard installation using Software Update or manually downloading and installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v.1.1 - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399

  • How to update GRPO baseref field manually

    Dear All,
We are creating PO using DTW option. Minimum line items in PO is 500. While posting GRPO by using Copy from option, it is very difficult for us to find the line items in the wizard. We also have partial receipts against PO.
We want a option that while posting GRPO, system should automatically allocate the open PO as base ref based on the PO date. Or is there any other method available to simplify this process.
Please suggest us the simplified process because it takes more time to enter one GRPO.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ravi.

    Ravi......
I can understand your problem very well.
As I suggested you, you can manage and make it simpler so that you can know which line you have to select.
    For this follow this process.
Create UDF as DocNum, LineNum at Row Level.
Now Apply the following FMS in Purchase Order Form as
    For DocNum Field
    Select $[OPOR.DocNum.0]
    For LineNum Field
    Select $[POR1.LineNum.0]
Now when you apply these FMS in PO row level its value gets stored which you can access in the screen of Wizard during Copy From.....
But all you need to enable those fields through Form Settings......
    Hope this will help you......

  • Home hub 3 latest update

After latest update to home hub 3 event log shows alot of firewall activity is this normal or is there some other problem.

The event log on my hub is now 6 pages log - it used to be a max of 3. The hub resynched less than 2 days ago so the log runs from that time. The log categories may have changed and the firewall entries that are reported are different.
Somewhat bizzarely the hub home network page says no wireless devices connected so my laptop doesn't exist even though the IP address is within the hub range.

  • Flush Home Hub 3 Type B

    Hi there,
Can anyone tell me how to flush a Home Hub 3 Type B so that it updates the information in the device list especially the device names? It's just I have been updating the device names on our home network and want this information to be updated in the list so that device names match. Your help would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards,

Hi. I've noticed my bt setup hub 3 type B( Modem + open reach box) cuts out after about 30minutes watching tv on demand and about 5 minutes when I watch something from my mac book air via AirPlay. Can a new modem fix this? Also can I replace both boxes with one, or do I have to keep the bt open reach box?
    Thanks for any advice
What makes you think it is the modem that is causing this problem?
If it is the modem cutting out this could be because it is overheating. Make sure that it is either wall mounted or that it is placed in such a way that air can circulate and that nothing is sitting on it.
How do you know it is not the Homehub that is dropping the connection. How are you connecting to the router, is it by wireless or ethernet?

  • Home network name already exists in Home Hub's dat...

    Hello,
How do I delete this database as it's causing so much trouble/problems by assigning multiple names to same static IP address. How do I connect to the database and delete all the record or create new static address assignment. Each time i tried to rename it back, i keep getting the error "Home network name already exists in Home Hub's database." Remote desktop is now connecting to different machine due to this issue
    Thanks

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I have some computers with static IP physically assigned to them (not via home hub but on physically on the computer itself), when I go to Hub manager, advanced settings and home network, the device name with static IP are mapped to wrong IP, if i click on the name and change it, I then get errorr about the database. I am not talking about or refering to DHCP/DHCP table. My problem is with static IP I physically assigned to some devices but coming up on Home Network with a diffrent name mapped to assigned IP on those computer. Really I should be able to change the name to the right one and click on save.
I have some server with static IP and when I RDP (using netbios name) into them, they're connecting to wrong system, checking the hub gave me visibility that those system are mapped to those IP of connected system
    Example:
System A - IP 10.10.10.10 (physically assigned on the machine)
System B - IP 10.10.10.11 (Physically assigned on the machine)
RDP to System A, you get system B desktop, checked Home HUB, system A is mapped to system B IP (not sure if I'm making sense here)
Please forget about DHCP, those are all fine and not really worry about those one
My question is: How do I clear Home Hub database as described in the error, is this possible

  • How to get the latest firmware for BT Home Hub-3 &...

I have had this new BT Home Hub3 activated last night.
To get connected wireless to my Mac Book Air and iPod Touch, I had to refresh the Wireless Channel in my BT Home Hub settings. The Hub has selected the Channel 11 automatically that works well for my home wireless connection.
This morning, my Home Hub has reverted back to Channel 6 and my wireless would not work. I had to go back to the settings in the Home Hub-3 to "Refresh" to select the best Channel and it has chosen Channel 11 again and all works well.
My question is how could I get the Home Hub-3 to remember the selected channel without me in the morning to refresh the setting on a daily basis?[I have tried by selecting the "Apply" and a green circle with a tick to denote that the change had taken place]
Home Hub-3 current firmware Version 4.7.5.1.83.8.45 [Type A] and I noticed a new one available and How could I update mine to the latest?
    Regards
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

if you select advance settings and go back to the wireless page, you will be able to see channel selection, likely to be on Automatic (smart wireless); here you can manually select channel 11 and it will stay there.

  • How do I set up my new tc to work with my home hub 2?

Hi. This is my first time in this community, so hope I'm doing this right!  I have a bt home hub2 and have just purchased a 2tb time capsule to go with my brand new iMac. Please help me to set up the tc to work with the bt home hub. I want to use the tc wireless capability and think I will have to set up a new network and switch off bt wireless, but I'm not sure. Bit of a novice at this kind of thing so any help you can give in nice simple steps would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In UK BT generally use PPPoA authentication only so you will have to keep using the home hub as the main router. Put the Time Capsule.. TC.. in bridge mode. To do this go to the airport utility, on menu selection go to internet, and make sure it is set to ethernet for method of connection, and in connection sharing, select bridge. Then select update.. it will probably list some issues like password needing changing and access via wan etc .. almost all of which you can simply ignore.. as you are not using it in router mode.
The TC will save the setting and restart.. it will now exist as a wireless access point and switch on the network. The WAN is swapped to LAN, so there is no WAN port as such but it is still convenient to use WAN port marked <...> ethernet between home hub and the TC. Then setup wireless as you like. You can turn off the wireless in home hub, and just use the TC.. or use both, on different channels. That is no big problem. Set the security for the wireless is important and I would also manually set wireless channels and use different name for the 2.4ghz and 5ghz wireless. But just start and learn what you need to as you go along. Getting the basics working should be fairly easy. Some of the more complex stuff you just need to read carefully the instructions..

  • Bt Home Hub 5 new update 4.7.5.1.83.8.204

Hi i just noticed my home hub 5 was upgraded to version 4.7.5.1.83.8.204. i noticed the speeds went up a bit and wifi fixed a bit. i also noticed the icons changed in the home network. but one major thing is ipv 6 was enabled on the home hub 5 but global ip was not. When is t going to turn on ipv6 on there network it is pointless in updating the router with that enabled if you are not going to turn it on on your network. When will you turn it on.

    Hi thomasmulhall,
The external network has not yet been configured for IPv6 on a all customer basis. Therefore it is pointless to enable Ipv6 for the external BTW/BTConsumer broadband network if it has not been configured to lease IPv6 addresses.

  • How to connect a BT Home Hub V3.0 Type B wirelessl...

On my network I have a BT Home Hub (version 3.0 Type B) as the main router. I also have an old BT Home Hub (version 1.5) lying around. The router is located in the study and I hope to set up the spare home hub as a wireless repeater in the lounge next to the study. This would allow me to give a Sony TV access to the internet via an Ethernet cable connected from the TV to the wireless repeater.(By the way the Sony Wi-Fi dongle costs £70 and the reviews on it are awful.) Any thoughts on how to do this? Some clear concise instructions would be very useful.

  • Defective Home Hub 5 - how to get a replacement

In addition to all my trouble with BT TV in combination with Infinity 3 FTTP (https://community.bt.com/t5/YouView-box/No-BT-TV-with-Infinity-3-4/td-p/1110464), I also received a faulty Home Hub 5. THe internet connection drops every few minutes and it is completely unusable. As soon as I connect my Home Hub 4 with the same cables, the connection is perfectly stable.
I contacted BT by e-mail and after several useless exchanges telling me that it could have external reasons or the wiring could be the problem (no it can't, as it is working with the HH4), I was asked to provide a time I am at home and reachable, so that someone can call me and check the HH5 connection. This Saturday morning I got a call and was told that they cannot help me as I have FTTP (what a surprise, it is visible in my account and I mentioned having Infinity 3) and they have to transfer me to the Fiber team. The forwarded call got lost after no one picked up and I received this e-mail:
"As per the conversation we had over the phone I have transferred your call to the FTTP desk, as we are from the copper line desk we cannot proceed further to deal this issue. You can also try reaching them at 0800 800 151 (12pm to 8pm Mon - Fri). Please do write back to us for further queries." I.e. I got forwarded to a team that was not even available today.
    So to summarise:
    - It is completely obvious that my Home Hub 5 (I paid £50 for) is faulty and just needs to be replaced
    - Instead BT is wasting my time again and again giving me completely random reasons why it might not work
    - While I mentioned it multiple times and it has to be visible in my account, I apparently was contacted by the wrong team for days
    - While BT offers Infinity 3/4 FTTP they don't seem to have any idea how to support / handle it. They cannot give me BT TV, they cannot even give me any kind of support with a faulty router
It is just absolutely incredible ...

Doesn't help you but why did you buy a HH5 if your HH4 was working OK?
Try a factory reset of the homehub by pressing a pin
into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds.
lf that doen't help recontact BT sales where I presume you got the HH5 from and inform them its faulty and you want it replaced or your money back.

  • How to set up time capsule with BT home hub 4.0 & Openreach

    Idiots guide needed.
My TimeCapsule (year old model) had been running well from my BT Openreach box (without using the Home Hub 4.0) but recently had issues with connection dropping - BT said they've sorted out their end and can't see any remaining issues and can't offer me any more support if I'm not using the Home Hub 4.0
I reset the TC to run straight from the Openreach Box  still have issues with wi-fi dropping in and out (both on ethernet and wi-fi).
    Can I:....
    1)     set up Time Capsule running from BT Home Hub 4.0 which itself runs from BT Openreach white box (thus continuing to get support from BT)
or should i go back to
    2)      Time Capsule running straight from BT Openreach Box
Can some one post an idiots guide to either option?
Other stuff that may be important.
Macbook air running Yosemite (mid 2011 model)
    Apple TV
    Airportexpress
    Time Capsule
    2 x iphone 4s
    Kids PC
Ethernet and wifi for above - I generally run everything hard wired via ethernet.

The easiest and sure way is to use bridge on the TC as the method of connection. The TC then becomes a device in your network and gets its IP from the main router that I presume BT supply.
    Method is,
    1. Plug the TC WAN port into the BT supplied modem by ethernet.
    2. Plug the computer you are using for the setup into the TC by ethernet.
    3. Run the airport utility .. go to internet tab on the top menu..
In the bottom option, Connection Sharing choose off (bridged mode)
    4. Go to the wireless page and setup wireless connection as you like it.. using whichever band you want. And make sure security is set to the highest setting, wpa2 personal. Put in a decent wireless passkey.
    5. Press the update and fix whatever else the TC will show as needing fixing.. usually security stuff.
    6. You can then disconnect the ethernet and connect by wireless if you want. Any port on the TC will now be a LAN port, including WAN.
This is assuming BT supply a wireless router with built in vdsl/other type of modem. If so you normally will not be able to bridge the modem, unless BT are using pppoe authentication which they haven't in the past.
If you really need to use the TC as a router then you will need to work out an alternative method. You can double NAT by placing the TC in the DMZ of the BT router if that is an option. It is not without issues in general.
