How to upload in ASCII format

I need to learn how to upload a .pl to the cgi-bin in ASCII
format. Is there a way to get Dreamweaver8 to do this
automatically?

It should happen automatically. Have you tried?
What was the result?
If the Perl file doesn't work when uploaded- what exactly are
the error
messages? Much more likely to be a problem is saving a Perl
file with
windows linebreaks and uploading it to a Linux server.

I'm using encryption technique in my application(oracle formas 6i). character stream convert to the ascii format and add some numeric value and again convert to the character format

when we create a program in se38 and save it in a zxxxx package then it will create a transport request. The Content of TR i mean is not the Program name or the object list in the TR. The content i mean here is the abap code written in the program. which will be stored as a file in the server. when we open this file it will give the SAP format. Which i want to view in ASCII format.

Hi,
In 7 th step of LSMW we need to specify the file ie flat file.
In this step you describe all files to be used in the following steps:
· Your legacy data on the PC and/or R/3 server
· The file for the read data
· The file for the converted data.
As your legacy data is on the PC: ie your excel file that is tab delimited or comma delimited.
here give ur file name, description , click data from one src structure, then delimiter is tabulator if so, in file structure click both check boxes if in ur flat file ur first row is column, file type is record end indicator, code page ASCII and conitnue that's it.

Dear All,
I want to send a big report via de broadcaster to an email recipient.
The problem is that the recipient wants the email in ASCII format.
Does anybody know how to fix this.
I am thinking of a javascript in the webtemplate that converts my report into ASCII format..

You can the report in ASCII and save it as a text file using the browser save as option. Add an item in the content area of
type file and upload this text file. Clicking on the this item will display this ascii report.

    I know how to upload datas in Text format through BDC...Suppose even when datas are in .xls format,I saved that file as Text(tab delimited) format...then file become text format and it can be easily uploaded....

Loading Flat file in ASCII format

    We are loading data from flat file in ASCII Format . Kindly let me know what are the prerequisites we need to maintain when we load data in ASCII Format .

Hi Raghu,
I always load in delimited ASCII. True ASCII format has the advantage of being the fastest way to enter data to BW. But you have to make sure, that the values you import are perfect aligned. So you have to fill in blanks to get the values and characteristics aligned. Delimited ASCII separates by a separator (usually a tabulator or a ";").
Example:
ASCII

Delimited ASCII:

Depending on system you may also be careful how you name your files. In Unix you have to be careful in using Upper/Lower case. Win and Unix systems use different ways to access directories. You have to keep this in mind, especially if you wish to use a function to find the filenames you wish to import.
Also because of Unix or Windows systems you should remember that Unix just need a CR to separate lines, while Windows needs CR/LF. So if you try to import Windows files in Unix systems you will get interesting results. Look at the files you wish to import with transaction AL11. If you see some interesting black cubes at the end of line, you have a windows file you try to load in unix.

I am new to strategy management ,PAS Model I have created successfully based on requirement given by our business unit.
Business unit (FMCG product dealer) have 5 region , and 2 accounts under which we have multiple stores ,
I have sales data in excel sheet by store monthly(actual & target)
I have created an Link to excel sheet which has following format
Time     Name of the store     sales_act     sales_target
Jan-09     Store1 region 1 account1      290     300
Feb-09     Store1 region 1 account1      320     350
Please suggest how to upload excel data into Actual and traget variables (suggest me IDQL commands).

For loading the data from an excel sheet , using a procedure is very handy.If possible , create a separate procedure for loading the targets. I am giving you a rought transcript of a procedure which loads data from an excel sheet. Please make the appropriate changes where ever necessary :

How to upload the Pdf Document?

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement to design the screen using Java Webdynpro, where I have to give a option of uploading PDF form (which can be maximum of 10 mb size each) .it can be 2 or 3 files( maximum) per commit statement.
Also I need to have to validation to validate the document whether its a Pdf formatted or not? If not I have to raise the information Message saying that"Upload the PDF format file only".
and also need to design one more field in the (Java Webdynpro screen below the above described field) which need to have the history of the attachment with button to remove the selected attachments?
how to acheive this requirement Please advice

To upload a document in WD you can use the FileUpload UI element

I have to display images in my webpage, from a specific folder that should keep on changing every 10 sec.. ...
how to upload these image files to my page with timing..means afterr 10 sec ,the another image in the same folder has to be dis[play.
I am storing images ina folder as .jpg/.gif format. (thro Java Program).
Plz tell me the way of how to do this?

These image files reside on the client? If so the client is going to have to initiate the upload. Think of the security problems if they didn't?
