How to use CreatePopUpId in LOV ?
Hi experts,
Please tell me how to use the createpopupId in LOV?
I used the createpopupId attribute in InputListOfValues.
I have passed the PopUp id as a parameter in createPopupId.. I am getting a small icon in LOV..
I just tried it and i dont how to proceed after that, please tell how to do that..

Basically, you create your own af:popup that handles creating a new record for the LOV; you provide the id of that popup as the createPopupId, and ADF will render a "create" button or link for you as described in the documentation. When the user clicks the "create" button or link, your popup will be shown.

We are trying to populate a prompt programmatically.
Our program is a Web Services Consumer.
As an example we use Island Resorts Marketing
The cascading LOV for City is
Country -> Region -> City
The City object is key-aware to the customer table
The query is
Customer | Revenue
(where) City = [prompt]
In order to make the key-awareness work, we must select the value (rowIndex) from the LOV
When we run our program below, the LOV for City is not populated, as expected since we must first select the Country, then the Region.
The code snippet below shows that the LOV for Country is populated. We have no idea how to go from there.
Any hint will be immensely appreciated.
Let us know if anything is unclear in the code.

How to use input box LOV in query panel (search region)
Hi,
We are having JDeveloper version 11.1.2.4.0
In one of the JSF page, we are showing some data (absences).
Requirement is to add search region at the top so that user can filter the data, based on search parameters like Business Group, Job etc.
The search parameters are inter-dependent e.g. Job is dependent on Business Group. So when user selects some particular Business Group, Job search field should show jobs for that Business Group only.
This works fine we use Choice List for both Business Group and Job.
However since there are huge number of jobs, Job choice list makes page rendering very slow.
So we tried to use Input box with LOV for Job.
But now when job is selected in the LOV popup and returned to main page, job search field shows job id instead of job name.
Please note that our base VO (AbsencesVO) contains JobId attribute. We have added List of Values on JobId, which fetches Job Name through JobVO1 view accessor.
How to make Job LOV field show selected Job Name instead of ID? Kindly advise.

Timo, the link mentioned by you talks about showing IDs (DepartmentId, ManagerId etc.) in the search region. I need to show names in the form of Input box LOV.
Bangaram, as per your suggestion I tried using transient JobName attribute. However now when I select any value in the Job LOV popup and return to main page, it shows first Job Name in the Job Name search field.
Also when I click 'Search' button in Search panel, it shows error - Attempt to set a parameter name that does not occur in the SQL: BindJobName
Please note that I have added both JobName and JobId in the List configuration as you suggested.
In View criteria, I have removed previous item (condition) on JobId and added condition on JobName.(This is required because JobId condition shows JobId search field)
I also tried making JobName dependent on JobId..still same behaviour.
Kindly advise.

How we use the rights on LOV to filter.What you need to do is to edit the LOV sql (assuming it is custom folder) and insert there some
kind of security mechanism.
Also you can create dependencies in the parameters so that if you will select on the "Region" parameter the value of "New York" when opening the values for "Departments" you will get only the relevant departments.
This can be done in the parameters definition, you can choose there to limit the results according to another condition. (note that it might create some performance issues)

How to use multi select in a query report
I defined a lov. This lov retuns name and a id. I want to use the result of this multi select in my query.
I always get invalid number when I choose two items of the select. When I debug I see that the return value of the multi select is 1:2. How can I change the seperator : in , I tried the following but this does't work.

...that post shows you how to throw the selected values into a pl/sql table and step through them as needed. it also showed how to use an instr to parse through the string if you want to go that route. you could use that same instr logic right in your sql query. so let's say your lov for your multi-select item (P1_MY_MULTISELECT, we'll call it) was defined as...

...and your user selected KING, FORD, and JONES. :P1_MY_MULTISELECT would store those values as...

...you could then write a query to return the selected enames with something like...

Each drive mounts as a separate volume. There is no convenient way to make them look like one contiguous volume.*
Franky, with an hdd and a ssd I would recommend you put your home dir on the hdd and leave the ssd for the OS and your key applications. It's relatively easy to do and I think better than moving only portions of your stuff.

I'm using Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.3.2 and I'm tried to define more than one multiple selection parameters inside the data template;
Inside a simple SQL queries they work perfectly....but inside the data template I have errors.

As you see, I tried to have only one p_where_clause (with more than one parameter inside)....but it doesn't work...
Using only the first parameter (based on deptno (which is number), the p_where_clause is: p_where_clause := 'where (deptno in (' || replace (p_dep_2_param, '''') || '))';
it works perfectly....
Now I don't know if the problem is the datatype, but I noticed that with a single parameter (deptno is number), the lexical refence (inside the data template) works.....with a varchar parameter it doesn't work....
So my questions are these:
1) how can I define the p_where_clause (inside the package) with a single varchar parameter (for example, the department location name)
2) how can I define the p_where_clause using more than one parameter (for example, the department location name and the department name) not number.

the missing thing in your example is the fact, that if only one value is selected, the parameter has exact this value like BOSTON. If you choose more than one value, the parameter includes the *'*, so that it looks like *'BOSTON','NEW YORK'*. So you need to check in the package, if there's a *,* in the parameter or not. If yes there's more than one value, if not it's only one value or it's null.
So change your package to (you need to expand your variables)

How to create inputtext cascanding LOV
hi how can one refresh cascanding lov my use case is i have <af:selectOneChoice which list the name of provience and i have <af:inputText which list city using <af:autoSuggestBehavior base on the provience i selected and i have subub in <af:inputText listing surbub using <af:autoSuggestBehavior it list based on the city i have select ,at the moment when i select provience and go to city it list only one value in the list but if i type 2 letters of exisisting cityit list, even if there is more than one values in database,the subub also list the same values ,and another thing is if i change the selection of provience and go and select another province and what to select another city and anothe subub it list the previous city name and previous suburb name it does not change according to new provience selection.the first city i choose when the page load its the only one displaying all the time,even if i restart the application,my problem is my <af:inputText does not list more than one values it always list one value if is city it only list one city if its subub it only list one subub,how can i refresh two inputtext so it can display values according to currently provience selected lov and display all values not only the first one selected .am in jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0
Here's the scenario
1. i have 3 views witch are ProvienceVO,CityVo,SububVo they where created from theire entity
2. ProvienceVO it list the provience name
3. CityVo it list cityname and citycode,it got view criteria which got cityname and provience they all use operator start with,i did not use parameter in the query,i only use parameter in my view criteria
4. i got sububVO it list subub name it releate to cityvo using citycode,i also have view criteria which pass parameter subub and use operator startwith
5.in my application module i got two method which list the two views cityvo,subub based on the provience selected
6 in my bean class i got a method which listen which city,subub is selected it also pass the currently selected provience to city
7. I have wired all the LOVs correctly and it is working properly in ADF BC tester.
for example where it does not work
1 select provience in the list,but when i go to my inputtext it does not list values according to first lov selection.
2 select provience in the first list, but when i what to make selection in second lov i only get one values even if there is more values from database,this happen in city lov
3. select provience in the first list,select city,but when i come to select subub inputtext it only list one values it does not change even if i try to search other surbub it always return same surbubname value
4.if i type n in the inputtext it does not list available name Which start with n e.g for new york it only find new york if i type new than it will display new york ,after i type atleast 3 letters

3.26.4.6. Restrict Absence Type LOV
Prior to this release, all absence types created using Oracle HRMS are displayed to users in Self-Service HR. With this release, implementers can update ""a package"" to restrict the absence types that are displayed to users based on the business requirements. This feature ensures that employees enter only those absences for which they are eligible, and managers do not have to verify the validity of the absence type of employee requests.Apologies for the delay here.
The package in question is hr_absence_restricted. You replace the Package Body of this package so that the function absences_restricted returns a comma-separated array of Absence Type ids that SHOULD NOT be displayed.
For example,
RETURN '123, 456, 789'
Would prevent Absence Type Ids 123, 456 and 789 from appearing in the user's List of Values. This is supposed to be described in the following Oracle Article but it's not published:

Hi,
I have created a page in which I have two different LOVs. My requirement is to default some value in the First LOV i.e. "ALL"
and the second LOV which is dependent on the first LOV will gets populated with the values based on the first one on the page load itself.
Both the LOVs have "autoSubmit" and "partialTriggers"realtion between them.
The problem I am facing is that I am able to set some default value to the first LOV with value as "ALL" by using "setSubmiitedValue" on LOV from backing bean on the page load but the second LOV popup (dependent LOV) is coming blank on page load.
But if i select same value "ALL" form the first LOV popup after page load then second LOV popup gets populated with values based on first LOV
Please provide some urgent help that how to default any LOV with some value and based on that second LOV gets populated on the page load itself.
