How to write validation

Hi all,
As per my client requirement I have to write one validation like if postings should not happen more than the 2 days ago of current date.
Eg if Posting date is 20.05.2011
system should not allow postings less than 2 days of 20.05.2011 means which allow upto 19.05.2011 and 18.05.2011.
please give any suggestions how to write validation for it

Please tell me how to solve my query.
In Cash Journal
If the posting date is 20.05.2011 and system should not allow postings before 17.05.2011. which means posting should happen (current posting date and posting date 20.05.2011 minus 2days earlier the posting date) only.
Present validations are BKPF-BUDAT = BKPF-CPUDT for this I want to add 2 more days.
Please guide how to do validation in this case.

when i click on submit button, without selecting any one of those radiobuttons ,
it shud display error message, this errormessage i have written in iwdmessage.
it shud show this error message, instead of displaying nullpointer exception.
how to write validation for this.

you can find some information about the creation of calculated columns in the HANA Modeling Guide (http://help.sap.com/hana/SAP_HANA_Modeling_Guide_for_SAP_HANA_Studio_en.pdf).
Within chapter 6.2.1 (Create Analytic Views) you can see under point 7 some basics and also a simple example. The same is also valid for Calculation Views.
Chapter 8.9 (Using Functions in Expressions) describes the different available functions.
You also can use the integrated search in the HANA Studio by clicking the "?" button in the button left corner. Then you get some links in the side panel with related information.
In general you can write your expression manually or you can just drag and drop the functions, elements, operators into the editor window. For example if you drag and drop the "if" function into the editor window you get "if(intarg,arg2,arg3)" inserted. The arguments can be replaced manually or also by drag and drop.
It is also worse to use the "Validate Syntax" button on top of the editor window. It gives you directly a feedback if your expression syntax is correct. If not you get some helpful information about the problem (ok, sometimes it is a little bit confusing because of the cryptic error message format ).

The easiest method I have found is to use a database to store the users details along with a flag indicating whether they are a trainee or an instructor. Upon logging in, you can use a bean to connect to the database and retrieve these values, then it is a simple matter of a jsp:forward tag to re-direct to the applicable page for trainee or instructor ...

How to apply validation rule for View Object (VO) attributes?

How to add Validation Rules to VO attributes, just like EO Business Rules?
I got 2 problem with that:
1. VO can join multiple tables, and the attribute's validation rules may reference to the fields from multiple entities.
2. Since the EO Validation Rules only execute before the data actually write to entity (Commit operation). But user may need to input data from multiple pages with only 1 commit.
I am using JDeveloper 11g with ADF BC.

Just something to point out, the EO validation doesn't fire on a commit (if you mean commit as in the database/AppModule commit). You can also access VO information from the EO validation rules by using view accessors.

We are recent users of CRM onDemand, we would like to write some workflow rules but cannot seem to find any information on how to do this. The help section is limited in answers, and some of the questions here are also not specific to what we would like to do.
Does anyone have any advice on books, web sites, etc. on where to find the knowledge we need on how to write the workflow rules and use SQL and expressions in CRM on Demand?

For your first case:
1. You cannot create a workflow in r15 for activity but in R16 you can
Create new to create a workflow
Name: Auto email send
record type: activity
trigger: when new record saved
rules: put your rules by clicking on the fx icon i.e this is where you are entering the rule saying the owner is different from the person who is creating the activity or the delegated field is filled (another way of looking at it)
then save the workflow
In the actions section
choose the action "Create Email Notification"
In the To: Section choose "Relative User on Record" and Choose "Activity Owner"
Save it. Make sure both the workflow and activity are marked active.
2. In your second scenario:
How do you expect to create an account and automatically populate the Sales rep's name - not sure
But you can create an opportunity and auto fill with the Account Owner's name by using this in the field validation (you do not need the workflow), you can use the FieldValueJoin function.

The attribute "after" of "set" can hold a single valid name like

or
a collection of valid names seperated by coma like <set after = "A,B,C">
how to write DTD for the "after" attibute such that it will contain a single valid name or collection of names?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that DTD doesn't support that. You're probably better off declaring the name attribute to be of type PCDATA and tokenizing the value manually in code.
