Hi,
I want to deploy EJB to jserver. The EJB use JNDI jdbc2.0 datasource to access database. But there only are some sujects how to use JNDI jdbc datasoure in client application in oracle8i 8.1.6 jdbc 2.0 document, no in Jserver. Which one could tell me how to use JNDI jdbc datasoure in Oracle 8.1.6 Jserver.

The command above about creating a group only works for the root site of the site collection, because the scope of the user group is site collection level, these groups

How to use JNDI lookup

I am creating a POC for my project.Its using ATG and spring frameworks using RAD 6.first I have created ATG sample project in that same EAR file i created sample Spring project.Both are running in the same EAR.
I want to use spring classes from ATG components to use those methods.that is i should pass parameters to spring project methods and i should get the return value after executing those methods.
I heard that using JNDI look up I can get spring project class objects using that I can invoke spring project methods.
My requirement is two projects will be running in the same EAR.But one project will not be having information about other projects.both are independent from other.Using JNDI look up i need to invoke Spring project methods.
Please anyone help me how to do this.

How to use jndi datasource on Weblogic instead of adding a DB data source

Hi All,
version: 11.1.1.4
I am trying to figure out how in my ADF applications I can use an existing jndi datasource out on our weblogic servers instead of having to bury the Database db source in my adf applications. Like SOA I would like to reference the DB directly during design so I can pull in entities and build view objects, but when I deploy I want it to reference the jndi datasource out on the weblogic server.
Is this possible? If so I am not sure how to configure it like I would a DB adapter in SOA.

If you use ADF in the model layer (application modules) you can configure them to use JNDI Datasources. Just right click on the application module and select 'Configurations...'. In the next dialog you see all the configurations currently available (one named xxxxxlocal and one named xxxxxshared at least). Select the local and hit the edit button. This open the DB connect dialog where you can change the connection from JDBC URL to JDBC Datasource (JNDI). Save your work and when you now start the app it will use the JNDI name.

Hi,
Why do you want to use LDAP for Hard disk monitoring..???
U can do this by creating a MD5 checksum for all the files existing in some
perticular
directory and every hour or any configurable period u can recalculate the
checksum
to find out the change in the content.
I guess all u need is to get the code for "updatedb" utility of Linux and
instrument it for ur needs..

Hello ,
You need to go through the JNDI tutorial which you can access at the sun's site. It will explain all the things you need.
By the way all you want to use JNDI datasource is JNDI class library and some naming or directory service provider, which also you can download from sun.

Help how to look up ejb3 deployed in ear using jndi

I'm trying to use jndi to look up ejb3 depoyed in ear-file. The structure of ear file is like: taas.ear\app.jar , the "app.jar" is where the ejbs are deployed.
If i write code:
jndiContext.lookup("ServiceProviderDaoImpl/local");There will be exception:
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ServiceProviderDaoImpl not boundHowever, if i deploy the ejbs directly in a app.jar which is not in a ear-file, then same same code will work fine.
I cannot figure out how to write the correct code to look up the ejbs.
I use jboss 5.0.1GA.

Usually the lookup name is:
earname/ServiceProviderDao/local
Replace "earname" with the name of your ear of course, without the '.ear' extension.
Use the JBoss JMX console and then the jndiView service to see under what names your EJBs are bound (under "global namespace" I think the label was).

Using JNDI to access config file located outsite j2ee app

Hi I'm wanting to store a config file for my J2ee app, somewhere on a tomcat server possibly inside the
conf/ directory so that I can update this config file without having to redeploy the j2ee app every time a change is made.
I've been told I can use JNDI to access this file, but I can't seem to find any examples or documentation on how I can do this.
I'm new to JNDI and would appreciate any help, or suggestions.

2. Can I somehow set the context to look into the conf directory of Tomcat without hard coding the path, as the path could change or be different on different machines??

Hi Kiran,
Looking at the code you sent and the error, it looks like you should be casting the ds object to a javax.sql.DataSource object not a weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.RmiDataSource object.

Querying deleted objects container in Active Directory using JNDI

I am trying to query deleted objects container using JNDI which fails with error 64.
Has anyone seen this or knows how to query AD using binary data in JNDI.
Seems to me there is some problem with the search base.

Setting up LDAP Server to lookup Connection Factories using JNDI

Can someone let me know how to setup LDAP server within 10G to lookup connection factories using JNDI?
I read through the Advanced Queuing User Guide and Reference document where this is mentioned and it says use the Database Configuration Assistant to do this but I could not find how.
When I install 10G is LDAP server automatically setup? How do I get to it?

That is correct. I was indeed able to use the app server (10g) to give the LDAP user permission to access the objects, then used sql commands to register the objects inside the LDAP.
However, I am finding NOTHING about actually creating a unique connection factory that can be registered in the LDAP. I find reference to registering Queues/Topics/Factories inside the LDAP, but nothing about actually creating the factories.
In fact, here

it's listed that you cannot use sql to create a connectionfactory... not to mention the create java commands for factories look strikingly similar to the queue/topic GET commands, and not the create commands. You can add an alias for that factory using sql, but can't actually create the factory using sql... ???
