HP Photosmart D5360 Printer stopped working with MAC once upgrade to SL?

We have a networked (not wireless printer) HP Photosmart D5360 Printer, and it connected to a Windows PC, Under Leopard we were able to print via Network sharing the printer, however since we have updated to Snow Leopard we can no longer see or print to the printer... Even though all the Windows computers (PC's) can see it and print. Nothing has changed on the network, it just simply isn't being seen by SL on our Mac's anymore...
We can see the workgroup and the computer, but it says it can't connect to the computer (a windows PC) anymore for some reason when while using Leopard we had no issues...
Suggestions? Obviously an easy fix would be to get an Airport Express adapter and plug the printer in that way thus making it a wireless printer, however we would like to get it work without spending the $100 for the Airport Express if possible.

NASCAR3D,
I don't know if this will help, but if it doesn't we'll work through the issues.
Step 1: Make sure the printer drivers on your Windows box are up to date. This step is important, since a driver mismatch could be the cause of your problem.
Step 2: Open the Print & Fax System Preference, right click on your printer, and select "Reset printing system..."
Step 3: Click the + button an the bottom of the now empty list, when the add printer window opens up, press the Windows button in the toolbar. Select your printer, and make sure the Print Using is NOT set to Generic PostScript. It should auto select your printer from the list. If not, make sure you pick it manually.
If it still doesn't work let me know and we'll see what we can do.
Just trying to help.

  • Hp f4580 printer stopped working with Microsoft Surface RT 2

Have just bought a Surface RT2 (Windows 8.1 RT is the operating system).  It recognised my HP Deskjet F4580 all in one printer fine at first, but now does not.  First it showed it as off line, so I followed Microsoft advice and removed the device from my tablet in order to re-install it, but now it can't find the device.
    Things I have tried:
1.I have checked that the printer is in fact on-line by successfully printing with wifi from another laptop.
    2. I have connected the printer with the USB cable.  The printer is recognised, but when I try to print to it, it asks me which file I want to print to, and doesn't print. Correction.  I have just tried again with an USB connection  and this time (about 6 hours later) it worked with USB connection, but still won't work on the network.
    3.  I have checked the printer's compatibility with the tablet.  The Microsoft website shows limited compatibility, suggesting that it should print, but probably won't scan.
    4.  I have rebooted the tablet, the printer and my wireless access point/router
I suspect that one of the many Microsoft auto updates may have something to do with this, but I can't find any way of restoring to an earlier restore point.  I read somewhere that 8.1RT does not have the system restore facility.
Any ideas about how to make this excellent printer work with my new device?

Hi dikahn, welcome to the HP Forums. Windows RT has a refresh option. If your printer is working USB but not on the network, then it is probably not an OS issue. It is a networking issue of some nature. Check the IP Address of the printer. It should not start with 169 or 0. If it starts with 192 (most often), then it has been given an IP by your router. The next thing to do is to see if you can communicate to the printer from your tablet, by opening a web browser (preferably Chrome) and typing in the printer's IP address. If it sees a settings page (Embedded Web Server) then there is communication. If not, then it is likely a firewall, or router setting causing it. Make sure the printer is on the exact same network as the tablet. If you have a dual band router (2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz) then they must be both on the 2.4. Try power cycling all devices and retrying the install. Refer to this for the install information:
Install the Printer Software in Windows RT or Windows 8 on a Tablet
Let me know how it turns out.

  • My Epson printer stopped working with Firefox today. It does test pages, will work on Notebook, and will work with IE. Up until today it worked with Firefox. Why can't I print anything from the internet with Firefox?

Up until today, I did everything with Firefox. Then I was on Paypal and went to print a shipping label and the printer would not work. I went to troubleshoot page and it printed a test page. I uninstalled my printer and then re-installed it. Still would not work from an internet page. I did a system restore. Still didn't work. Called Epson. They say it's a Firefox problem because it works on Notebook and test pages. I installed IE and the printer works. What happened and how can I get it back working with Firefox?

I have the same problem, I cannot print PayPal shipping label off of Firefox. I did the about.config entry and have seen that the print.print_printer does not exist at all in the list of entries. I use Vista 32. I use an Epson 545 wirelessly.
    Can anyone help?

  • Re: Wireless printing stops working with Home Hub ...

I have had to fix a few clients home networks and was perturbed to find there is a pattern between the new home hubs and existing wireless printers.
I too found no logical reason why the connection would drop or go twilight zone. I searched after fixing a couple of these sites and found no conclusive methods from the more senior site members posting suggestions.
I agree that it is a bug with the HH firmware or a setting that you should be able to tweak is not available to band-aid over the underlying issue.
My working method was to manually set the channel in the router from the auto setting. Pinging and communications seem to flow both ways and the printers work straight away once the settings have been applied.
I would love to see a proper response from a BT representative as with some areas of the U.K there is only BT as an option (for broadband) and by ultimately having a HH router that behaves in this fashion is just poor. I think BT need to recognise the issue and investigate from some customers home networks to understand the issue.
Any update that sheds some light on this is welcome!

I have a HH1 with a mixture of hard wired and wireless connections. The hard wired ones all have static IP addresses, however I do not use the DHCP server on the home hub, as that is a function of one of my wireless access points.
My printer is connected by USB to my server, but I never have any issues communication between wireless devices, and  Ethernet connected ones.
Did you delete the printer from the home hub DHCP table, before giving it a static IP address, to avoid any conflict?
Maybe its an issue with the HH5? You will have to see if anyone else is having problems.

I can print with Qimage and stuff, but not from Lightroom anymore. I've rebooted the PC, restarted the printer, and nothing. Now it's gonna take me twice as long to print the wedding pics.... grrrrr

  • CRT Display stopped working with Mac Mini

After over a year, my 7-year old ViewSonic CRT display went dark while working on my 1-year old Mac Mini (PowerPC). I replaced the DVI-VGA adapter and it worked perfectly---for a week---and then did the same thing: the screen went dark and the power light went red on the monitor. Both times this happened I hooked up an older generic monitor to see if my ViewSonic had died, and it put up a message stating that "both signals" were missing.
Why was the adapter only a temporary fix? Do older CRTs have the habit of frying these adapters or is it something else?
Mini Mac   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

The older monitors that did not come with vga plugs were sometimes computer specific Example. a compac monitor would not work with an ibm. You should get at least a monitor that has vga  plug. I had a gateway plugged into my mac mini. Some one will most likey say I'm wrong , but I did try the compac with an ibm. no screen. Older pc monitors with vga plug are pretty cheap right now,. Got mine from goodwill for $6.00

  • My photosmart B110 will not work with MAC OS 10.9.3

Hello, let me start by saying I have a mac with os 10.9.3. and a photosmart B110. I got the low on all inks  I refilled black because that is mainly what I need. Got a error message wrong cartridge. Checked HP website tried  reset printer system. After trying to print, got the printhead has failed message. What to do?

Hello charlottedk, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are having cartridge and printhead problems.  I would like to try and assist.
I would suggest performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend following the steps in this document on an 'Incompatible Print Cartridge' or 'Print Cartridge Problem' Message Displays on the Computer or P...

  • Printer stopped working with Firefox but works fine with Safari. We have a MacBook Pro OS 10.5.8.

Our R380 Printer has been working perfectly with Firefox in printing web pages and email. However, now it will not even attempt to print web pages or email. It's like it doesn't even know that a printer is connected.
But when I launch Safari, the printer works great both in printing web pages and email.
How do I get it to start printing in Firefox again?

Define "access the cloud". I can access my iCloud.com account on my 5 year old iMac at work running OS X 10.4.11 Tiger. I can download and upload Word documents and Pages documents in the iWorks section of my iCloud.com account.
What do you want to access in "the cloud"?
Snow Leopard would be your next system upgrade and you should be OK with the CS3 applications, and Office 2008. I cannot confirm that the other applications will work.
This is quite old, but take a look or Google the other applications to see if they are compatible with SL.

  • Model BEFW11S4 wireless router just stopped working with Mac; still works with Windows

I have the above model Linksys wireless router, hard connected to a Windows XP Pro desktop unit. I also have a Windows XP Home laptop. My wife has a Mac PowerBook laptop. On Thursday last week her laptop started having trouble connecting to Internet. Problem is intermittent--sometimes can get on and sometimes now. When on it might connect to a web site normally or sometimes takes a long (as in loooooong) time connecting. My XP Home laptop continues to connect quickly and will move from one URL to another easily; no problems. She took the PowerBook to Panera and got on the Internet with no trouble. She was on for at least a half hour and suffered no outage or slow-downs. Came back home; got the same problems as before. Only thing that has changed is a big snow on Thursday, same day as the trouble started. The relationship is probably non-existent, but it's the only thing different from Wednesday (when working well) to Thursday (when started having trouble). Any thoughts? I naturally welcome any responses. Thanks, Michael Plog

Hello people. I'm having the same weird trouble: I'm having this BEFW11S4 to which I connect via another wireless AP and a switch a Windows XP PC and a MacBook Pro computer (both with Ethernet cable connected to the switch, to which the AP is connected). Both the above computers work seamlessly, but sometimes the other iMac I have in WLAN doesn't surf anymore. It can ping both MacBook Pro and Windows XP PC, but doesn't anymore ping the BEFW11S4. Wireless connection is crypted with WEP-64 bit key. When this is happening, also from the Windows XP PC I cannot get on the web interface of the BEFW11S4. It seems to be "locked" somehow. After unplugging the power and re-plugging it in, everything works again also on the iMac. Anybody managed to solve this issue? What version of Firware do you guys have? I have 1.50.13... regards.

  • Old Appletalk Printer Stopped Working With Snow Leopard

My old Apple 630 Pro Printer, which is connected to one of the Ethernet ports of my Time Capsule station, used to work perfectly through Appletalk... till I installed Snow Leopard. No more Appletalk in Snow Leopard, the printer is gone.
If I could find the IP address of the printer, I could probably add it this way. Does somebody know how to find the IP address of anything attached to the Station through Ethernet?
I know that this one is not easy, and thanks in advance for any info!

  • How do I set up my HP photosmart premium printer to work with lightroom 3.6

When I try to print from lightroom the above image is what I get. If I print via the HP desktop gadget the print is good and colors are fine. The scan of the image has brightened it up a bit.II have a Acer Aspire X3950 PC running windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).  The printer is a HP Photosmart Premium C310a. I Color profile is managed by printer.
    Please help!

When you have your printer do the color management you have to tell Lr that the color is <Managed by printer>.
    See screen shot:
Only one of the two can do the color management: either the printer or Lr. If both do it you get bad results. Same goes for Photoshop.
