HP Used to be a Top Name in Quality, No Longer True

Can you believe that HP lists on the hardware support page a CPU upgrade that is not compatible with the given mobo? HP used to be a trusted name. It is a sad day when, as a consumer, you have to do an HP employee's research for him.
Motherboard: Pegatron M2N78-LA
CPU Upgrade listed that is actually NOT COMPATIBLE with this motherboard: AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition, part number HD985ZXAJ4BGH.
This is such an outrage, especially since the first releases of the AMD 9750 had a flaw, and there is almost no room to upgrade. The most logical upgrade choice is the 9850. And now I read that people are trying to upload new BIOS versions to get this to work, and by doing that, they also lose an expensive motherboard.
Last HP I will ever buy. It's a shame too, because I just converted to HP from Dell after a decade of Dell loyalty. Thanks a lot HP for costing me time and money on this fix. Who cares, though, right? As long as it's not YOUR time that was wasted. As long as it was not YOUR money thrown away.

I see now that long questions are not going to be read and answered. Understandable. Since writing this I got help on one aspect of question and now have Airport Extreme visible through Airport Utility and it seems to work. However the wireless printer still does print. On the printer's screen, it recognizes my wireless network and connects. When I try to print from the MacBook, the usual printer icon comes up, but with Printer is Offline. Printer is Not Connected. So far, nothing in Apple or Brother help has given me answer to this problem. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Although we've tried to create separate I-tune accounts, our i-tunes playlists are getting wiped out when one of us deletes songs on our I-pod and it seems as though I-tunes is not distinguishing our distinct accounts and all i-pods are being synched to reflect the latest i-pod anyone makes on their respective account. It appears as though our distinct I-tune accounts are not being loaded on our lap-top when we sign in and unfortunately, when we're in I-tunes, there is nothing to indicate what account is on the screen. For all the glowing appraisals apple-related products usually receive, we are finding i-tunes and its interface with our respective i-pods to be a very, very frustrating experience.
Can anyone shed some light on this for a family of non-techies? Thx

You need to create separate Windows user accounts if you want to seperate the behaviour of iTunes for each user. That also means separate iTunes libraries for each user.
Windows is a multi-user operating system but you are not using it properly. iTunes is not a multi-user application. No application is. You can't expect it to treat different users differently when they are all using the same computer user account.

Carefully follow steps 1-9 outlined by wjosten in this post: https://discussions.apple.com/message/13356770#13356770. This will not, however, avoid wiping any non-purchased media from your phone (ripped CDs, etc.) as this is only synced one way: from your computer to your phone. You will have to either rebuild your iTunes library with this content and sync again to restore it to your phone, or purchase 3rd party software to copy it from your phone to iTunes prior to syncing (such as Touch Copy).

Timeouts while using LDAP and TNSNAMES for names resolving

I use an OID for Oracle Names resolving at the client-side.
I tested some errorcases because there are no HA-features implemented for the OID.
So i have an LDAP.ORA with the adress and the ports of the OID.
My SQLNET.ORA has this content:
NAMES.DEFAULT_DOMAIN = <my_company_domian>
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (LDAP, TNSNAMES)So actually there is no problem. But when i turn off the OID-Server there iss a timeout of about 20 second to resolve the name.
So my problem is not the resolving. I only want to know if there is a possibility to minimize the timeout to switch between LDAP-name-resolving to tnsnames.ora-name-resolving?

But your options are interesting. In the future i will have 2 OIDs and in the first time the TNSNAMES.ORA-names-resolving as backup.
I already can test this because i have a productive OID and one for test-purposes. So at the moment i have two OIDs listet in my LDAP.ORA.

2 OIDs+TNSNAMS or 1 OID+TNSNAMES in both cases your options could perhaps prevent the timeout. I'm not really a system administrator, but i can discuss it with my colleagues here.

I have a MAC computer with Sync. Was set up under sync Beta. I have an Android phone synced to it that was synced using the pair this device function. It works perfectly. I just got a new Android Tablet and am trying to add it to my sync and it does not seem to have the pair my device function. It insists I log into my sync account. So I try it and it tells me invalid userid/password. I verify and it is the exact email address userid that shows as being my sync account on the MAC. I verify the password on the MAC and it tests out fine. Try the tablet again and invalid.. So I try to reset my password on the tablet and am told my email address/account name does not exist. I just verified it AND Synced my MAC using it!! I have my recovery Key but there is no place to input it into the tablet. There is no place on tablet to enter the link device codes. How can my account be valid and in use on two devices but invalid and nonexistant on the new one? And How do I get the New one to sync with other two?

In the DTP select the file location as application server and give the logical file path. The actual file and logical path can be created using transaction "FILE" and "AL11".
Rest of the process is same as that of extraction from local file.

Why do the file extensions (.jpg .gif .png) no longer appear when I click on a previously saved image to use that image's file name (particularly important when saving a series of images using the same root name)?

I save a lot of images using firefox, often times from a large batch or series of images. It used to be that I would click on a previously saved image and the entire file name including the file extension (i.e. image_example.jpg) would appear in the "save as" line. Now when I click on a previously saved file, the file name appears without the file extension (i.e. image_example). Which means I have to manually type .jpg every time. For a large collection of images that I am hoping to use the same root file name and then add chronological numbers at the end, this has become incredibly frustrating, especially as it is a previously unnecessary task.
I am using a new Macbook Pro and maybe there's something Apple related to this...? It did not happen on my old PowerBook G4. I have file extensions turned on in System Preferences.
It should be noted that I have searched high and low and have even gone into the Apple Genius Bar where they were just confused as I was and of course ended by urging me to use Safari (shocker!) as it has all kinds of new extensions and bells and whistles. I seriously feel alone on an island with this dumb, hard to google problem. Thanks so much for any help anyone out there might have.

Thanks for your response Mylenium, however like I mentioned multiple times, I did change all of my trackpad/scrolling settings in system preferences. And if I wanted to use a normal mouse (or a tablet), I would've gotten an iMac instead of a MacBook Pro. I travel often and work all over the place, not always with access to a decently sized workspace that would be required for using a mouse or tablet.

Framemaker uses $filename for short file name, can we edit this to change appearance? We do not want the short file name of long filename to include the .fm extension can this be removed or modified to make this happen?

Thanks i think I got it working of a fashion.
Except the replace colour, does not seem to end up with the colour I picked using the picker tool. Its as though it hads not replaced the colour but blended in the desired colour with the old incorrect colour!
Buy trial and error picking not the right colour but close - which when mixed with the existing colour is close.

The scenario is:- say a blonded mainly tanned model a high cut [at the hips] corsette style basque, with an ultra low bra line.
Our dear model, has just come back from St Barts with a fabulous Tan, and equally striking bold Tan lines!.
So we have great tanned legs, then the 'porcelain white band' where her swimsuit was.
Likewise we have a tanned face, and arms, shoulders etc and a great tan on the top of the cleavage, then it stops, white band to the top of the ultralow cut bra line of the basque.
She must have lived in like the most conservative bikini on the planet [50's style], for 2 weeks!
Had she had a normal skimpy bikini on, no problem!
If i don't solve it, she will get fired!
Not a lack of interest in your post, but I was out, and tried to log in to this site; which I could do, on my iPad Air / 5 [whatever its the new one]. And tried to 'sign in' - but it just hung at the
"Join Adobe Community" adobe sign in splash screen! with he little whell spinning around continuously!!!

The function of the F keys at the top of my keyboard no longer work as they used to. The actions they do no longer correspond to the symbols that are printed on them. For example, the volume buttons no longer control volume and now change the display to full-screen instead, and the brightness buttons don't do anything at all.
This started today and I'm finding it very irritating. I checked in System Preferences and didn't find any obvious way to turn most of them back to what they used to do.
Help?

In System Preferences > Keyboard uncheck Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys.

Sender file adapter - Can I use *.xml for the file name

Hi Gurus,
I have some interfaces where I need to pick the file from a directory. The name of the file will have Datatime stamp as the naming convention. Can I use *.xml to pick up my files from this directory?
The help.sap.com documentation says that we can use this naming convention.

● File Name
Specify the name of the file that you want to process. The name can contain placeholders (*, ? (placeholders for exactly one character)) so that you can select a list of files for processing.

I tried using *.xml for my file name in the communication channel, XI is not picking up this file.
Please let me know if you have the solution.

I am using GuildFTP tool as my FTP server. In this tool, all the permissions were given for the file to pick up.
The status of the file is good.
Where in the file adapter configuration I have to select 'Read-only'?
The file adapter is working perfect with the exact name of the file.
