HT1212 I have followed all the instructions listed above, but I have not been successful with unlocking my iPod. It is currently disabled due to a forgotten passcode. Are there any additional options that I have to unlock my iPod touch?
Are there other alternatives to unlock my iPod touch and reset my passcode? I have followed all instructions posted and my iPod is still disabled. Can anyone provide recommendations on this matter?
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Files are kept as they are changed, so that would explain how you get different dates in your backup folder. The only backups that are saved and not overwritten are the ones done just prior to a restore. You do have the option to go back in time on a Windows computer, however depending on the last time you set a restore point in Windows, it could be back further than you are willing to go.

My phone randomly shut off. When I turned it back on it said it needed to restore, to plug it into itunes. When I did, and tried to restore it, it failed with a code 21. I have followed all the instructions, it still isn't working. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all that the steps told me to, I've updated everything in my computer. I don't know what else to do. My phone will just show the apple sign and the itunes plug in sign.

Welcome to the Support Communities! I'm not sure from your post what steps you have tried, but it sounds like you may need to use recovery mode to address the issue with your unresponsive iPod touch.

do you mean internet access ? if so, there are no additional charges. your Touch will either connect to the internet via your local network at home or via a wi-fi hotspot such as at starbucks.

Though the font on the desktop and email programs is fine (14 or 16 point), on the google sedarch pages or any websites that are accessed via Firefox, it is tiny. What's wrong? How can I make things more legible? I am working on a laptop and followed all the instructions given in DISPLAY.

I am trying to get home sharing to work on the applie tv and its not working after a Mac OS update. It has not worked for about a month and use to work fine. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Is Apple working on a fix for the problem? Is there a work around?

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

I am having trouble authorising my Mac Air to my Itunes account. I found a discussion explaining how to go go into 'Terminal', then adding a command. I have followed all those appropriate steps and when I try to enter my 'Password' when asked, my keyboard doesn't work. No key press can be activated at all when trying to enter my password in 'Terminal. And I am in the 'Administrator' user. Can anybody offer any suggestions?? taDoes the command that you're trying to enter in Terminal begin with the word 'sudo'?
If so, your keyboard is working fine. When you type your password after a sudo command, nothing is echoed to the screen for security reasons (not even the * that are normally registered in other user interfaces). However, the program is registering what you type.
Just type your password and press 'return' and the command will be executed (so long as you type it correctly; if you don't, you'll get an error message). -

I bought a new Ipod (5th generation). I am trying to sync it to my itunes. I tunes does not recognize my new ipod. It is registered. I was only able to download purchases I made from my old ipod. I cannot download my itunes library or any of the games I have purchased. I tried using the troubleshooting guide to no avail. The only thing I did not do was to uninstall and reinstall itunes. Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:

(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
