Yes, but you wouldn't have sold the backup copy of your old computer.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.

If you don't have an icloud account, then icloud is not the thing that's popping up a window.
If you are being asked to enter a password when accessing itunes, then the problem may be that you have purchased items (apps, songs, etc) on the device that were purchased using a different itunes account than the one you currently have defined on your device.
Purchased items are forever associated with the itunes account (the apple ID) that was used to make the purchase. If you change the ID on the device, you won't be able to update any of them. You'll have to purchase them again.

Those aren't apps; they're bookmarks to websites. Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? If all else fails, you can just re-do the shortcuts.

Thank you for your suggestion. I backup on itunes. I went to itunes, deleted syncing my contacts, then re-synced them. But the Facetime capability option continues to be there on most (not all, for some curious reason) of my contacts. I am not sure I posed my question correctly. I want to be able to FT with my family, so don't want to delete the FT capability totally from my iphone and ipad. But I don't want all these other iphone calls from various contacts to ring on my ipad as FT calls. I want a way to select with whom I have FT capabilities. Any further suggestions? Not Stupid! I should have been more specific. I'm still new to iphones. I changed my itunes password and ID at the itunes store my computer. I'm not having problems with my email. I'm having problems downloading and updating apps (probably music as well). After it asks for the password, a message comes up saying my itunes store password is incorrect. It works on line though. I have a Wireless G Broadband Router. I have moved, I also have a new laptop and don't have access to the old one any longer. To make it even more challenging I have packed away the old password and login information in a storage unit I can not access. Trying to get the router set up again so I can work and my husband can work. HELP!. I run the steps and it goes fine until the Step 4/4 which says plug the wirless router cord into the electrical outlet on the wall..then it says waiting for router. During this time my computer bounces from internet access to no internet access to internet access and back again. then says it failed. Says the it appears that the ethernet is not connected properly.

My Toolbar has a huge space for URLs, but a very tiny space for search items, question etc. It is very frustrating to use and I can't seem to find an easy way to adjust the space. My aging eyes like Safari better, but my brain prefers Firefox. Is there a solution?
