HT1491 Issue updating iPad apps

I am signed into iTunes on my iPad. When I go to update my apps, I get a dialogue box that states "cannot connect to iTunes store"
Thoughts? Thx.

You can update the app directly on teh iPad.
Open the App store app and tap Updates at lower right.
When I configured my iPad for the first time, the Sync Apps box remained unticked. Ticking it after using the iPad for a while will probably erase all my apps e associated data.
No.
Nothing happens until you click Apply or Sync.
Then, any apps already on the iPad will simply be updated and the data will remain intact on the iPad.
Just select Sync apps then tick the apps you want to sync and untick the apps you do not want to sync.
Then sync the iPad.

  • Ipadmini issues updating my apps

Im having some issues trying to update some apps in my ipadmini. I even change my password, signed out and try to login again but when i enter my appleid and password it keeps saying that it cant connect to the iTunes store. I update my iPad mini to iOS 7.0.2 a couple ofrece datos ago.

I dont know, it is not even visible in the purchase list!!! Meanwhile Apple Support suggested:
I understand that you are having difficulty updating your past purchased "Week Calendar" app. Ill be glad to help you with this.
I checked your account and I noticed that your original purchase for this app has already been refunded back in 06/26/2012. You may not be able to update it due to the refund.
I also understand that when you tried to repurchase it, it does not give you option to purchase it again. To help resolve the issue, please log out on your iTunes account and purchase it again while logged out. It will then prompt you to log in on your iTunes account and be able to purchase it successfully.
Interestingly, it was NOT refunded, but anyway maybe a system error, as not visible in my purchase list either.
NO problem, I would buy it again, but i CANT :-)))) as system says I have it, so I'm entitled for free update, then I press ok, and it says I cant.
    It is really ABSURD. :-))))

  • Ios7 cannot update ipad apps

Ever since the update, I cannot update my iPad apps. The message says that all the update notices are from the US store and I must go to the Canadian store to update. I have signed out and signed back in, checked my account, and nothing has changed. Very frustrating.

    Hi,
I had the same issue. All you need to do is to re-verify your credit card details on the your phone once again and that should do it.
    Change App Store
    1. Tap "Settings"
    2. Tap "iTunes & App Stores"
    3. Tap on your Apple ID
    4.Tap "View Apple ID"
    5. Enter your user name and password.
    6. Tap "Payment information."
    7. Re-confirm you credit card information
    8. Tap "Done".

  • HT4623 Cannot update iPad Apps- iPad 3

I've owned my iPad 3 since it was issued and now all of a sudden, it will not update my apps. It says I have 4 apps that need updates but the page is blank. I've checked everything in settings and have backed up to the iCloud. Everything else in iTunes is functioning. Any suggestions?  (I'm running the latest version of all software and have the 64GB iPad3)
    Thx!

Many discussions on this issue.  I contacted Apple.  Although they did not admit there is an issue, they gave me a couple work rounds (below) until they correct my issue.
What I am suggesting you do is update the apps directly on your computer, then connect your iOS device to sync the updates over automatically.
On your computer, follow these steps:
-Click View on the top menu bar
-Within the "View" drop down menu choose "Show sidebar"
-You will then notice under "Library" the category "Apps" and a number beside it (this number represents how many updates you have available to you)
-To switch to the Apps area in iTunes 11, select "Apps" from this Library menu. It'll show you a screen full of icons representing each of your apps in the library. Look on the lower right and you'll see two critical buttons ("#" updates available) and (Get More Apps)
-To update your apps, click the "updates available" button. You will then get a full screen view of every app that has an update available.
-You can now choose to update each app individually or choose the "Download All Free Updates" on the top right corner of the screen.
-Enter your password now and click "Get"
-Once the downloads are done, plug in your iPhone or iPad and it should sync automatically, updating all the apps on the device.
Another option is you can also try going into the App Store and go into the purchased page (As if downloading from iTunes in the Cloud), then you can click the "Update" buttons beside the applications requiring update.

  • Mac Mini Profile Manager installing/updating ipad Apps - HELP!

    Hi,
i am hoping someone might be able to help with the following.
we have a mac mini server to remote manage 25 ipads using profile manager.
this works well as we can lock, wipe and clear passcodes etc.and attach the policies without any trouble.
However we are trying to push out an app (version 1.4) to the devices and this is sort of working but not fully.
if the app is already installed with version 1.3 it doesnt update even though in profile manager, 'active tasks' it says successful.
if you go go into profile manager and select the device and select 'update info' this registers against the device but still shows as the old version.
if we delete the app from our test ipad and push it out via profile manager it goes in active tasks as successful then the ipad has a pop up message box saying the xxxxxx.ourdomain.co.uk would like to install the app, once this has been ok'd it  installs on the ipad ok, but when you select the app it tries to open then goes back to the screen again and never opens the app.
if you download the app direct from itunes it opens with out any trouble.
here is the process i am using.
    on the mac mini server.
    download the app via itunes
then in apps i drag the app on to the desktop, this creates the .ipa file
in profile manager, select the device, edit apps and browse to the .ipa and upload
select the uploaded app and 'add'
when you save this, then go to active tasks it gets pushed out to the device and reports as successful
then the app either doesnt update if old version is installed or installs if no app is installed but doesnt open
    any help welcome
    regards
    Gavin

    Gavin,
We've run into the same issue that you mentioned. My understanding of the Push App functionality of Profile Manager is this:
Pushing apps is designed to be used to deliver In-House developed apps over the air (OTA). Meaning, if your organization develops an app for use on its own devices, you can upload the .ipa to Profile Manager and push it out while bypassing any App Store interaction. The In-House .ipa would contain its own provisioning profile that would dictate who is allowed to run it.
When you download an app from the App Store, the .ipa that you get actually contains the AppleID that was used to purchase/download the app in the .plist. If you then push that app to a device that has never been used with that AppleID, the app will fail to launch as it cannot verify that you actually own the app.
Before we go any further: what I'm about to discuss isn't officially condoned or supported by Apple, which means it is inheritly risky and could be patched over at any time.
In order to bypass the issue, what has worked for us is to sign into the App Store on each iPad with the AppleID that is used to purchase the apps on your Mac Mini. You need to download at least one app to the iPad while logged in with that AppleID in order for the iPad to retain the AppleID after the iPad users log in again with their personal AppleID. After you have done that, users may once again log in with their own AppleID.
At this point, you can push an app to any of those devices that have been paired with your Mac Mini's AppleID at least once. The apps won't (immediately) crash.
Here's the catch: I'm told that the .ipa contains an "expiration date" of sorts. Once that date has elapsed, your iPad will attempt to extend the expiration date by connecting to the App Store to verify that the same AppleID that was used to download the app in the first place is still active on the device. If it is not, the app may once again crash when you attempt to run it. Now, this expiration date or timer is not disclosed, meaning, if this is really the case, you will have no idea when the apps will stop working. It could be weeks, or months, or years. A gamble, really. So, use that at your own risk.
Currently, there is no official method for pushing App Store apps Over-the-air with Profile Manager or any other Mobile Device Management platform.
Remember!: If you are even considering pushing apps in the manner mentioned above, you will still need to account for licensing. As an organization, you must have purchased the same number of copies of an app as you intend to install on your devices. This is a non-issue with free apps, but for auditing purposes, you'd best look into VPP or steer clear of pushing apps altogether.
I hope some of that helped clear up your question.
    Good luck!

  • Unable to update iPad Apps

Here's an interesting one.  I am trying to update my apps, but when I go in the App Store and click the "Updates" tab, I just get a blank white page.  The remainder of the App Store is operational, as is my iPad generally.  Any ideas?

Tis problem is on Apple's end and they need to fix it. Many people are having this problem for the last couple of days. According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
    1. Go to App Store
    2. Select Purchased
    3. Select All
    4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
    5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. This is a workaround only.

  • Issue with iPad: apps not working

Hi all. Also iPod and iPhone user, I just bought the iPad2. But, differently from the other ones I'm having big troubles with the Apps on iPad. The icon is getting on the screen after downloading, but no downloads ensue. Only thing I get is "waiting...", and I can't use any new App. Same story with updates of existing Apps. Once update is agreed upon, the App goes in the same kind of "limbo mode".
Who can help out and resolve this issue?!
    Many thanks already!
    Cheers
    Kristof

Finish the download in iTunes on your computer.
Launch iTunes and go to Store>Check for Available Downloads. If you have one available, go ahead and download it to the computer. Maybe that will open up the pipeline on the iPad. You can sync the app or update to the iPad. Or if it was an app clogging the download stream, you can download it again on the iPad without syncing via the purchased tab in the App store.
If that doesn't work, try a couple of basics.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • I'm told my Apple ID is disabled but given no reason why when I try to update iPad apps

So I go to update apps on my iPad and am told, "Your Apple ID is disabled".  No reason given, no notification of security issues to my email, nothing.  I've logged on to check out my Apple ID on both my computer and my iPad and the account says it's verified, with no further outstanding issue.  What is this problem, and how do I solve it?

    Hi..
Apple ID: "This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons" alert appears
Click the iforgot link on that support article to "reset" your Apple ID account even though you can login to iTunes on your computer and iPad.
    It's just a reset.

  • After updating ipad, apps not opening

hello, after updating my ipad to the newest version (5.0) none of my apps are opening. I did a reset but it still doesn't work
    ARGGGGGG
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Some people have reported luck in downloading something else.
Go to the app store, find a free app, download it and see if that allows your apps to run. Sometimes there's some sort of security glitch that downloading another app resets.

  • Update itune apps with already updated ipads apps

    Hi there,
I have updated apps on my iPad. When I get an alert to say that there is an update available, I do the update from my iPad. So at the moment, every single app on my ipad is on the latest version.
However, when I connect to iTunes on my windows PC, iTunes says that I have, at the moment, 48 apps that need updating. This is about 5 Gb of data.
    My questions please, are...
Why do I have to update again if iTunes backs up my ipad and therefore, I assume, the updated apps?
How can I get the updated apps from the iPad to iTunes without downloading again through iTunes updates?
    Thanks,
    Maz

    Hey there,
Thanks very much for that Chris.
    All sorted, updated, done...

  • Issue updating iPad operating system

I have been trying to update the operating system on my ipad but each time i do it crashes at the last stage, can anyone help?
It says the connection is timing out once it is 1% from complete!

If you are having problems downloading the iPad iOS update and you're getting a network timeout message, then have you tried temporarily turning off your firewall and antivirus software whilst the download is happening ? A number of people on here have been able to download successfully after doing so.

  • TS1702 trying to update  ipad apps it keeps saying you must switch to canadian store how do i do this?

how do you switch to canadian store?

Open iTunes Store. Locate your logged in email address, click on the Log Out link. Log in using your Apple ID for the Canadian Store.
Since you apparently purchased apps while logged into the Canadian store you must log into that store in order to update them.

  • Issues with updating my apps

I'm having issues updating my apps after I updated to the iOS 7. Everytime I try to update certain apps this message would pop up saying "Update unavailable with this apple ID" And I never used another apple ID other then my own ever since I got this phone. And believe me I tried everything. I signed out and back in. Turned off and turned on my phone. Even tried the reset thing. Nada. I finally resorted to deleting the app and hoping I can redownload it. Didn't work. The same message would pop up and I'm not even updating the stupid app. To make it worse.
