can change my desktop pic, by clicking "change my desktop, but I would like to understand what made it freeze up like that. All I get is that thing that looks like a piece of candy. From there, it does nothing. The rest of the system preferences work fine. It's like its caught in a loop of some kind. I would appreciate any help that I can get. Thanks.
Since you are still under the Apple warranty, please give Apple tech support a call (before your 90 day phone support expires, if you did not buy the APP yet...) If the problem is more than just a simple software glitch, they will be able to fix it right away for you...

It will be necessary for you to install Lightroom from an upgrade installer. An upgrade requires the original serial number from the version that you first purchased, as well as the serial number for the upgrade. The upgrade serial number, by itself, will not work.

I have thousands of songs dowloaded from my cds and purchased from itunes that will not play. It says file cannot be found. What happened and where are they?
When songs cannot be found, it's either because they have been moved from the original location that you told iTunes, renamed or deleted.
So have you:
renamed songs?
moved them to a different loaction on your computer since you imported them into itunes?
deleted them since you imported them?
stored you iTunes library on an external drive? If so, that drive needs to be on and ready every time before you start iTunes.
... or is another programme renaming or even moving them, such as Windows Media Player? (It has been known to if you let it.) Did you previously use Windows Media Player? -
I have a new ipad, it says I am connected to the internet but will not work. When I attempt to go to a web sight the green bar moves 1/2 inch and nothing.
I have a used linksys router that I got from work. I tried connecting with a older ipad and every thing works correctly. any ideas?Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

I'm Confused.... Does iCloud sync all my devices if I do not have Lion installed on my Mac?

Saying iCloud doesn't work unless I upgrade to Lion. I really don't want the Lion upgrade yet. Should I abandon iCloud until I upgrade to Lion?At it's heart Lion is OS X. Yes it has new features and like any product you may like some and not have a use for others. The IOS desktop look alike on Lion is called Mission Control, while I've played with it I have no need for it either and rarely if ever look at it. However for someone that has used OS X for several years it's not necessary, my guess is it's designed for those that want to transition from a IOS device to a Mac.
The success of any major upgrade is in the preparation. You have done one of the first steps to see your software is up-to-date. You may want to check with the apps you use frequently and see if they have updates too. I use a free tool called AppFresh that survey's all the apps on my computer and lets me know if updates are available. You can download AppFresh from Macupdate.com if you are interested. Next make sure your computer meets Lion System requirements which are:

2GB of RAM (I'd recommend 4GB or more)

1. I have an add on I wrote for my company and it loads and works great on previous versions of Firefox but just stopped working with Firefox 4. Now with the latest version it seems my c++ binary xp com component is not loading. I get this unhelpful error:
TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined
What do I have to do to get this working with both Firefox 4 and previous versions?
2. We have a shipping product that people install as part of that installation we install this add in. What is the correct way to install the addin to support multiple versions of firefox.

I have Windows 7 and just recently experienced a problem with itunes freezing up when I clicked on the "apps" tab which shows the apps that are loaded on my phone. Everything else in the itunes software seems to be working okay. The problem is in the part where you sync the newly purchased apps. The apps will all be blank that are downloaded and that part of the software crashes itunes or freezes up. I can get out of itunes okay after the freeze up, but it just stops me from syncing anything that I have newly added. If anyone has had this problem before or knows someone that has, please let me know how I can fix it. I have uninstalled and reloaded itunes 4 or 5 times, but the problem is still there. I might add that I have been using itunes and purchasing apps for 2 to 3 years without any problems. HELP.

I have had two previous work MacBooks that died and both were authorized, however, now I can't reauthorize my new laptop because I have reached my limit of 5 systems authorized when technically, I only have 3 authorized. Any suggestions?

i have a macbook pro running lion and cannot log on to my microsoft exchange server. Not a problem with my iphone and ipad are there any issues or fixes for this?
I found the following suggested fix, posted by a user on Barnes & Noble's site:
1. Create a folder in your Applications folder, call it: NOOKforMac
Once you've done this, copy the Nook app to this folder. This should allow the app to run on the 1st or possibly second attempt to launch it.
2. Once you're done using the app always quit it by clicking on the X (red in some cases) button of the application window (upper left hand corner)
This seems to have resolved the issue and my guess is that somehow the .dmg volume path is somewhere hard coded in the app configuration.
Elsewhere in that thread, the administrator advises calling Customer Service Team at 1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665) and choose option 2 for Digital Support.

Firefox never opens. It is trying but nothing seems to change, no matter how much time is allowed.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Double clicking is no longer opening my folders.
How can I adjust the double click speed in Mountain Lion to reduce the double clicking speed. The mouse system preferences does not seem to have a speed slider for double clicking. Only the tracking speed slider is visible.For 10.8.3, it's in System Preferences > Accessiblity > highlight Mouse & trackpad on the left. The Double click speed slider shows on the right. Moving it to the left gives you more time between clicks. Moving it right gives you less time.
