  • HT1947 Having trouble connecting Remote app to iTunes on Windows 8 system.  Cannot see devices in same network.  Is this a Windows issue?

    I have a Windows 8 system running iTunes 11.0.2.26 with an iPad 3rd gen. running Remote app.  All units on the same network and subnet.  When I bring up iTunes on the windows system, I cannot see any devices, i.e. my iPad.  I can ping all connected devices including the iPad from Windows 8 box.  Is this a Win8 issue talking to iTunes?  Can't seem to crack this nut...

    When I use Remote Desktop and use the Public IP of the router without the port number (49250), I am able to get into the server. However, when I try to use RDP with the [Public IP]:49250, it will not connect to the 192.168.0.30 workstation.
    Right now the router is program to forward port 49250 requests to the 0.30 workstation.
    I am going to work on the Inbound/Outbound Firewall settings today and see if this will resolve the issue.

    My iPod Nano is connected to the PC since I can see the Eject icon in the Top RHS of the window.
    Apple support tells me I should be able to see the Nano under Devices - I can neither see 'Devices' nor the Nano
    The is extremely fraustrating as I just want to dump a few podcasts to the nano and get on with life ...
    Where is the Devices list mentioned in the Help - all I see is music I've uploaded and tabs for the Store and Podcasts etc.
    Thgis is my second evening I've tried to get this going - I've re-installed iTunes, reset the nano (7th Generation), taken out all other USB peripherals apart from keyboard and mouse, restarted the PC.

         If you have a menu bar with buttons for file, edit, view, controls, etc., click on view and choose "show sidebar".  I was looking for the same thing until a couple of days ago when, working with an Apple tech on an unrelated song issue, he told me how to display that sidebar with the devices display.  I had to click on the little symbol, upper left corner, choose "show menu bar", which wasn't displayed up to then, and then what I just told you.  Hope that is what you're after.

    Hi. I am having problem with my iTouch 5th gen. I cannot see all my songs in my iTunes. I can see my applications and the likes but not my songs. I can still see that my iTouch still detects the songs but not the iTunes. Can someone please help me.Thanks

    I am going to assume you have put things back to the default arrangement you get when you install iTunes. That is, an iTunes folder in My Music and your iTunes Music folder in the iTunes folder.
    The simplest solution if you don't mind losing counts, ratings and playlists is as follows:
    Close iTunes.
    Drag iTunes Library .itl and iTunes Music library.xml out of the iTunes folder to your desktop.
    Open iTunes and an empty library is created.
    Go to Edit>>Preferences>>Advanced>>General and check that the locaton of the iTunes Music folder is correctly set.
    Now use File>>Add folder to library to add your iTunes Music folder.
    If you want to retain counts and ratings etc it would take some more investigation to try and work out exactly what happened. A good stating point would be an exact step by step explanation of what you did - including the exact name of any folders you moved and where you moved them to.

    I'm having serious problems with my iPod Touch 1st Gen.
    When starting apps, I get back to the start screen after 2-3 sec.
    Cannot sync with iTunes, nor reset device via iTunes.
    Is there any way to factory restet the device, by pressing and holding buttons?

    I don't know if your iPod 1st gen has this but my iPod 4th gen has this thing where you go to settings then general and at the bottom it says reset then click on reset all and earase everything

    If you have a retail Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6 DVD lying around, install it. If not, order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.

    problem solved removing the authorisation of the computer and re-authorizing. but now i cannot add to an existing playlist because it say to me that this songs are not icloud playlisted? Why.....Maybe this new version need a lot of fix!!

  • HT4623 I cannot see or install itunes on my iphone 4.

    I can see the itunes icon in greyed out in the Settings/General/Restrictions and it is off.  I cannot turn it on.  Any idea why itunes won't work?

    Try Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).

  • Users cannot see classes in itunes U

    I can log in as an administrator and all of our classes will show in itunes U. But is a student or faculty member tries to log in none of the classes appear. This has been working and there havne't been any changes her on campus with our servers.

    There was an "Authenticated@..." credential that was set to "No Access" at the top level of your site that was probably causing this. Since you are using identifier-based credentials that was going to cause no users to have access to the sub-section where all your courses are located. For identifier-based credentials to work that needs to be set to "Download". I changed that. Can you check to see if that had the desired effect?
