thanksif itunes can no longer pickup your ipod, and you cant even do anything to your ipod, your best option is to either call apple care, or just take it to the nearest apple shop. i had a similar problem, mines currently at apple care repairs and they might just end up giving me a replacement.

I am unable to synch my iPhone to my laptopI have tried to carry out software updates - I get a message saying that the updates could not be completed as I am not connected to the internet - despite being connected to the internet!

I just tried to buy Mountain Lion but I am getting this message, yes, even after I reboot: The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed.

When trying to download apps to my ipad, I get a message saying a secure connection could not be established and to check my date and time settings. Can someone tell me what this means and how to fix the problem?
It's a POP account. I decided to clean up my mailbox today after noticing the computer was real slow after USA Today started sending their daily top stories with new graphics. Also before I noticed the problem with mail deletion - two things happened. 1) I updated security sofware as prompted by Apple and 2) downloaded Mackeeper and went throught some preliminary scans but did not buy their package. Thanks forn nstaying with me.

Called in to Apple as my iphone 4 suddenly started showing grey lines across the right 3/4 of the screen. Apple help told me to backup and restore which I did. Once I restored I got a message saying that my iphone could not be identified????

Then, I tried to restore it several times on different computers, but always got the same message. I went to the apple store, and they basically suggested me to buy a new one. I bought a Zeppelin music player and iPod classic in December 2012, and all went well until I last synched the iPod with iTunes, and now I get a message saying that the iPod doesn't recognise the attached accessory when I try to connect it to the Zeppelin. I did recently update to the latest iTunes version-could this be the problem, and if so how do I cure it? All help appreciated.
It's still charging when you plug it in. That just means it won't play music out the speaker. If that's what you were looking to do, they have speakers for iPods.

iPod: Cannot restore or update in iTunes with error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439
It doesn't mention 1442, but the same troubleshooting applies.
It wouldn't hurt to also try another available USB port on your machine and another sync cable if possible.
Lastly, try restoring the iPod on another PC or Mac running iTunes.
If you know of somebody with a PC running Windows XP still, ask them if you can download the reset utility and use it to reset the Shuffle.
