How do I re-download previously downloaded movies on my computer
Unless you are in the US then you can't - films (and not all films) can currently only be re-downloaded in the US. Have you not got a backup copy of them on, for example, on an external drive ? If you have them on your iPad, then you should be able to copy them to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases.

Depending on the legitimacy of your downloads, certain sites may require you to install specific programs to run a specific file type that they host. If DivX doesn't work for you, then I would look deeper into the website to see if there's any additional software that may be of use to you there. -
i tried downloading an album - my itunes locked up, in purchases on itunes online it says it downloaded - how do i re-download to the same computer - can not find an option to do that?
Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the corrupt tracks from the music section of your iTunes library, close & then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unchecked. This seems to help with partial downloads...
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

What you can re-download will depend upon what country that you are in (music, films and/or tv shows can't be re-downloaded in all) and the type of item (audiobooks and ringtones are one-time only downloads) - the Purchased tabs in the iTunes and App Store apps, and in the ibookstore in the iBooks app, will show what you can re-download. If other items of the same type show there but a particular item doesn't (and it's still in the store) then you could check to see if anything is hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919

It's not currently possible to re-download audiobooks, you will need to re-sync them from your computer's iTunes. If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items. -

Whether you can redownload the film depends upon what country that you are in, whether the film is still in your country's store, and whether the studio allows redownloading. Does it show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage for redownloading ? If not, and if the film is still in your country's store, then is it hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919 ?
If you can't redownload it then you will need to copy it from your backup of your downloads/library that you should be keeping and maintaining. -

You can't find them in the Videos app, and you don't have a film age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that might be hiding them ? You should also be able to see what films are on your iPad via Settings > General > Usage > Videos (the Usage screen should list all of your apps with the amunt of storage that they are taking up).
For what support told you, iOS devices have a search screen which allows you to search for items on the device. On iOS 7 you pull down the centre of the iPad's screen (not from right at the top of the screen) and you should get a search field at the top of it - try typing the name of one of your films and see if that finds it (the swipe left ot right on your homescreen was how you accessed the search screen on previous versions of iOS).
If neither the Usage nor the search finds them then do they show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your iPad for re-downloading ? Or do you have copies of them on your computer or on your backup of your downloads that you can use to sync them back to your iPad ? -
