HT201272 Partially downloaded music

I downloaded previous music to a new laptop and a few songs stop after 10 seconds and move on to the next.  How can I re-download them again?

OK... I read in another question to delete the song and then it will allow you to re-download it and it WORKED!

If this has nothing to do with iTunes Match, then sync with iTunes and choose which albums, etc to sync or unsync.

when i re-download past purchases, most of them download at 128 kpbs.  when i originally purchased them, they downloaded at 256 kpbs.  why is this?

For the first part, if the album is still on your iPod then you won't be able to re-download it - you will need to delete it from your iPod first, and you can then try re-downloading it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store (assuming that you are in a country where you can re-download music).
For the second part, you should be able to copy it from your iPod or iPhone to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. Then make sure that you do take a backup of it - whilst content isn't (as far as I know) often removed from the store, as you've found out it can happen (and the same thing applies to apps, films etc.).

  • HT201272 Re-download music

I recently downloaded Greatest Hits 1961-1976 and the song Those Memories of You cuts out with about 12 seconds remaining.  I want to redownload it but whenever I go to 'purchased music' in the iTunes store, it says that the song is downloaded so there is no button to click to re-download it.  Any suggestions?

    Delete it then redownload it.

  • How can I delete partially downloaded music albums from my iPad 2?

I bought what I thought was an album from the ITunes store. Turned out to be a jumble of songs from several albums which went everywhere. I hate a mess like that so I decided to just delete all the songs. Now I am left with partial albums with no cover art and songs that don't even play. I can't delete them directly from my iPad and syncing with iTunes won't get rid of them either. Am I stuck with them?

If the iPad is on IOS 7, you will need the previous owner's Apple ID and Password to:
    1. Turn off Find My iPhone
    2. Erase device
    3. Reactivate device

  • HT201272 Partially downloaded songs.

I downloaded an album containing 14 songs. Four of them downloaded completely. How do I get the rest of the 10 other songs to complete?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • A music track I purchased only partially downloaded. I am unable to re-download it again as there is no option, so cannot get the full track I have purchased. Any ideas?

I purchased an 8 minute music track on itunes which only downloaded about 22 seconds. It does not give me the option to re-download what I purchased on itunes, only to play it - so it only re-plays the partially downloaded track. I know the full track is available as I managed to download it to my iphone but when i connected my iphone to itunes the one which was only partially downloaded saved in my music directory overwrote the full version I managed to get on my iphone so I'm back to square one again. Any ideas? Thanks

Delete the track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
That fixes the problem for many people. If problems with the track persist, go here:
    iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
    Regards.

  • HT201272 Before backing up my old iphone4 I traded it in for an iphone5. All of the apps I purchased I had no problem retrieving from itunes with no charge but I can't download music that I have already paid for that was not backed up w/out paying again.

All of the apps I purchased had no problem downloading to my new phone from itunes with no charge, but I can't download music that I have already paid for that was not backed up w/out paying again. How can I get these songs to my new phone without having to buy them again?

Whether you can re-download music depends upon what country that you are in (and whether it remains in the store). If you don't have a Music section in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone for re-downloading it, then do you not have you library on your computer's iTunes or on your backup of your downloads ? If not then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download

  • HT201272 problem with partial download onto my computer

I purchased a song in iTunes.  Got a partial download on my PC Windows computer, although iTunes CLAIMS there are 3:43 minutes, there is only 20 seconds of song.  The song was downloaded in full to my iPad and iPhone, but in my iTunes library, although it shows as 3:43, I only have a snippet.  There was a download error when I first got it.
How do i get the entire song on my computer, so I can move it to my first version iPod shuffle?

On the computer, delete the song from the iTunes library and then redownload a fresh copy on the computer. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

How do I download music from my iCloud when I deleted it from my site and "hid" it in my iCloud.

    Deleted it from what site?
Media should be stored on your computer.
What do you mean it is "hid" on iCloud?  There is no way to hide media although it is possible to hide purchases in the purchase history.

    Cdadd,
If by any chance you have made purchases with more than one account, you must check for past purchases separately for each account.
