I have a 1st gen iPhone that I just updated the software to 2.0.2
Now whenever I press the mail icon it goes to the mail app for about 4 seconds, does nothing, no loading of folders, old messages, nothing.

Sync your iPhone to iTunes, and see if that does the trick. Also you could try a Soft Reset with no Risk to Data. Holding down both the Sleep button and the Home button until the Apple logo appears and then waiting for the Reset to bring you iPhone back to the lock screen. Are you trying to add the email at Settings>Messages>Send and Receive from (2 Addresses) your iPhone number and your email address?

I need to transfer playlists from my old iphone into itunes so that I can then add them to my new iphone 6. However, none of the playlists on my iphone appear when I connect to my macbook. I have read other threads but have not found answer. help!

I am a group exercise instructor and rely heavily on my playlists. My old phone is an iphone 4s and I just bought an Iphone 6. I also have a macbook where I keep my itunes account, but I create all my playlists on my phone. I need to transfer those playlists from my old iphone into itunes in my computer so that I can then add them to my new iphone 6. However, none of the playlists on my iphone appear when I connect to my macbook. I have read other threads where the suggestion was to attach the old phone to itunes, find the phone in itunes and click the little arrow to the left to show the playlists. Then right click on the playlist and export it, saving it to the desktop, to then import it into itunes. However, in my case, the playlists do not show up when the phone is connected to itunes. I have clicked on the little arrow and all I get is "music", "purchased", etc., but none of my playlists. I'm sure some years back I probably deleted something in my itunes library and now none of my playlists show. Please help me. I would hate to have to recreate all of my playlists. Thank you!

I know it sounds weird, and that is the reason I posted my question. Because my case is not like all the ones I've found online and it's confusing. I added a screen capture of my itunes with my old iphone (the one that houses my playlists) connected to it.
My playlists "ARE" in my iphone 4s. They are still there even though they do not show up when I plug in to itunes in my computer.
When connecting my phone to itunes on my macbook, the playlists do not appear anywhere in itunes. I have found my connected iphone icon, I have clicked on the arrow next to it and it does pull up the standard lists that come with the iphone/itunes: Music, Movies, TV shows, books. That's it! below that is "Genius" and below "Geniuns" is "PLAYLISTS" but the only playlist of mine that shows there is one that I created several years back titled "90's music" and that one I created it on my computer, not my phone. Under "90's music" there are also other standard playlists that itunes automatically adds.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to get around this. I am starting to think that I am going to have to recreate these lists on my computer

Contact iTunes Customer support... it is not possible to bypass Activation Lock.

You should have no need to use the Old Sync account.
As long as device or devices are Firefox 29 or later (They should all be Firefox 30 now) you should use the New Sync.
You may use the same email address with both accounts.

Good afternoon. For over a week I can't get email on MY DASH. Can't see mail in my Gmail Viewer. Get a POP3 error ... can't connect to POP server. Thought it may be a Gmail interface issue so tried to get Hotmail and then Earthlink email in the Chumby email app. Both give same message POP3 Error , can't connect to pop3 server. I have done multiplr hard restarts / power off / "restore to normal operation" procedures. I have searched the discussions and community and can find no mention of POP server issues. Please help .... advise. I'm a disabled, but still working, senior citizen without a fancy, internet, cell phone and my Dash's ability to display my email is very important to me. Gmail uses IMAP. It's designed to keep all of your devices in sync. If you delete on one, it will be deleted on all of them. However, deleted means that it's in the trash. You could always retrieve it when you're using your Mac. Or, just create a folder that you move things to to deal with later.

Thanks. I can change the forwarding settings in Gmail to be either POP or IMAP. That is quite simple. I just looked at those settings on the Gmail server and, to my surprise, both are enabled. In order for outlook client on my computer to receive IMAP emails I have to change the email account settings in my current outlook from POP to IMAP. I don't need to be using the Exchange version of Outlook to receive IMAP. I guess I'll do a little research tomorrow on Exchange so i can figure out what, if anything, it might do for me.
I glanced at the link you sent me and it looks like it might be very helpful - another project for tomorrow.
BTW: I hit "This Solved my Question" by accident. I meant only to "like' your response so you would get some benefit from the help you've given me so far. I hope I haven't discouraged others from taking a shot at helping me. In attempting to solve these problems I have gone to settings-phone-upgrade and it states that the upgrade is available-select to continue-(which I do)- it checks -please wait and it then states that update not available - try later.

For specifically fixing the Bluetooth, un-pair your phone with the car, and go through the process of repairing the two.
In general, the KK update requires many of us (different phones) to perform a Factory Data Reset after we back up our personal content (pictures, music, movies, or other downloaded files) to a PC or MAC. This will result in you having to do a bit of work to setup icons for the programs you use, and maybe putting in the specifics again for email accounts and other specialized apps. So if you are going to do this sort of thing... copy important information/settings down on paper.

Can't connect to AFP server via Finder sidebar

Suddenly I can't connect to my server from the sidebar.
Guest access works. But my default user login returns "Connect failed".
I can connect via 'Connect to...' and type in the IP adres.
I can connect via iPad with a file sharing app (like ezShare)
The console returns:

Try this:
Uncheck Remote Management
Check Screen sharing
Add user(s)
When finished check the remote management again.
It has something to do with updating / resetting the cache files...
It worked for me.

IOS 4 : removing the "can't connect to mail server" messages

Ok, since the new Mail in iOS 4 have a "global inbox", everytime i open the app without being connected on the internet, it send me 5 "can't connect to mail server" message. So i have to click "OK" five times before being able to use the app. It does that even when WiFi is set to off.
Am i the only one ? Is there a setting for that ? Do I have to wait for iOS 4.1 ? Does god really exist ?

Your email provider has servers. There are no Thunderbird servers. Thunderbird is email client software that runs on your computer.
Contact your email provider about server issues.
