  • What is the best way to clean the iPad mini screen?

What is the best way, recommended by Apple to clean the Ipad Mini screen (ie: type of paper or cloth and what solution) ?

It's a damp soft cloth. Like a microfiber cloth you'd see for eyeglass cleaning. Damp, not wet, and just water, no chemicals.
Unless your screen is really grungy, simply wiping away the fingerprints should help.

  • What are all the ways to clean the ipad smart cover?

XML file may be generated from database table with
    1. XML SQL Utility.
    2. JDBC 4.0 API. A JDBC 4.0 driver is not yet available and the 'XML' data type is implemented by only SQL Server and IBM DB2.
    3. Hibernate 3.1

    Hibernate 3.1 is the recommended.

  • Does anyone know if there is a way to connect the iPad 4 to a canopus box and use it for capturing video live?, Does anyone know if there is a way to connect the iPad 4 to a canopus box and use it for capturing video live?

I am the Video Coordinator at Samford University and have found the quality of video capture on the iPad 4 AMAZING, however I need to convert all my files through a canopus in order to Capture and Cut live like I do with a regular video camera. I can get the tripod and mount for the iPad, I was just wondering if anybody knows exactly how/if there is a way to connect to the canopus from an iPad.
Look forward to hearing what you guys and girls say.

I'm a bit vague about what it is you wish to accomplish. Are you trying to capture video through an external box? If so, that's not posssible with any of the Canopus boxes I'm familar with. In fact I don't know of any external video capture solution that works with an iPad, though I can't state definitively that none exist.  I really don't think an iPad would be well suited for this even if it's possible. I'd strongly suggest you look into a MacBook Air or one of the current MacBook Pros. Those are far better suited for on-the-fly video capture and editing.
If that's not what you mean, please post back and explain further what it is you wish to accomplish.
    Regards.

  • Best way to clean the Retina screen from smudges?

The new retina screen is wonderful, but I got finger prints on the sides and top, just from opening and closing it. It happens even when I'm finicky. Any trick to that? But more importantly: what's the best way to clean it again. Thanks for any info!

Note to self - never touch Courcoul's Macbook screen and  windshield of his Count Dracula 3 Series.  To avoid high voltage prodding.

  • Recommended way to clean the screen MBP Retina?

Can anybody recommend a product or house hold remedy?  I have two different solutions designed for this purpose but they leave the screen smudgy/foggy/cloudy.  It's not that noticeable when you view it straight on but even the slightest angle can show it, especially when the content on the screen is dark.
    I have tried
    RQC LCD SCREEN CLEANING KIT
Suitable for: Laptop screen, digital camera, PDA, Plasma screen, LCD screen, CD/DVD media, mobiles, etc.  (or so it says)
    Also tried:
AF Screen-Clene  from AF Computer Cleaning Products (AF International, Kingsbury Park, Midland Road, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE11 0AN, UK)
(GB): Highly effective non-smearing pump action (NOT!) cleaner for use on monitor screens, anti-glare filters and glass surfaces of photocopiers and overhead projectors.  Spray onto lint-free cloths such as AF Safetiss or Safecloths and wipe surface.  Not suitable for mesh filters.  Contains no alcohol.  Anti-static, non-flammable.  Biodegradable.  1 litre refill available - order code SCS01L.  Keep out of reach of children.
    www.af-net.com
Looks alot more legit but produces the same bad results.
Both also produce bad results on my thunderbolt.
Strangley both seem to work at least OK (definitely a lot better) on MacBook Air and on other screens from other manufactures like Philips or Dell, etc.
Can anybody recommend that right stuff to restore my screens to a factory condition.  They are clean now but when viewed from an angle they are cloudy.   I don't think they are permenently damaged because cleaning them again moves the clouds around.
I'd post in the thunderbolt forum but nobody seem sto read that at all.  Never had a post answered in the thunderbolt category.  I am having the same exact issues with the built in screen on the Retina.
    Thanks.

I use this with great success:
    http://www.windex.com/en-US/Products/Pages/electronic-cleaner-and-wipes.aspx
I spray it on a small microfiber cloth and wipe of with a large microfiber cloth (12" x 15").  The display looks like it came out of the box.
THIS IS NOT ORDINARY WINDEX GLASS CLEANER!
    Ciao.

  • Cleaning the iPad Screen

*Microfiber cloth* works great, it requires only a light touch and cleans off all the fingerprints quickly and easily.
I tried eye glass cleaning cloth, liquid cleaner and tissues. The microfiber is 100 times better.

Absolute best way to clean the iPad screen is dry, with the 3M Scotch Brite High Performance Cleaning Cloth. The cloth costs $3-4, but it is a woven microfiber that pulls fingerprints and dust off like nothing else. I've tried a number of different cloths, including those that came with my HD TV, etc. The 3M flat makes 'em feel like using a paper towel (NOT recommended...). And when it gets dirty? Toss it in the washing machine.
I actually went and bought a couple spares - one for the house, one for my briefcase, and one for the office - just so I'd always have the right cloth handy. The iPad is a great device; I'd prefer it not be a great fingerprint display as well.

  • Does anyone know a way to use the iPad with the smart board and have the smart board be interactive?

Have amny teachers who would like to use ipad apps on the smart board. However as there is no USB port there is no way to connect the ipad to the smart board and have it be interactive.

You need some EQ, whether its on a mixer in between the mic and the mac or in software is up to you. Start at the Blue Microphone forums.
And the closer you get to the mic the more enhancement of the lower tones will happen, leave lipstick on it for Marlene Dietrich

  • My music is completely messed up: many songs shortened to 3:01, many songs in different versions. Should I delete all and reimport all my purchases? Or is there a more elgant way of cleaning the media center?

I think you should just rebuild your library.
Clear it out, then drag all the song files back in. You'll lose your ratings and playcounts, etc but I don't see what else you can do.

  • Is there a way to clean the javascript cache of files in layouts folder?

Is there a way to clean the javascript cache of files in layouts folder?
If I deploy a new version of the solution after some changes in javascript file which is deployed to the layouts folder the old version is used. The only fix I have found so far is to change the URL of the javascript file with some fake querystring like
"?v=2". But this requires another deployment. So I am asking for an alternative approach.

    hi Nikolay,
there is no clean solution for your problem. Browsers cache files by url, you can avoid caching appending in query string unique value per deployment. For example
_layouts/my_js_file.js?v=<current date> - will be refreshed from cache when day changes
_layouts/my_js_file.js?v=<GUID> - if guid is generated on every request, this file should never cache
_layouts/my_js_file.js?v=<product version> - more preferable solution, browser will update cache on every new version that was deployed
Actually, ScriptLink should take care about this, internally it has a method that appends unique id into query string based on js file content, if content changed, hash is also changed and new unique id is generated.

  • Effective way to clean the dust out of your Macbook Pro?

Lately the fan on my Macbook Pro has been running a lot much more often & it has been making a lot more noise; mainly because it is clogged with a lot of dust.
Is there an effective way to cleaning it out? If so, how? Be detailed as possible.

I generally don't recommend those who haven't done it before to remove the bottom cover and administer self-repair.
Qtips and tiny paintbrushes is what we used at the laptop repair place to remove the caked on junk on the fan blades.
If a fan was removed by a authorized repairman to be cleaned, compressed air is used then Qtips with isoproply is used for a complete cleaning.
Its important to have your Apple store remove the caked on gunk on the blades causes stress to the fan hub and bearings which rapidly leads to the destruction of the fan, and if dead would cause your laptop to overheat.  A leads to B leads to C.

  • Safest Way to Clean the Vents

    Hi,
Just curious, whats the safest way to clean the vent on the Macbook 13".
I've been told to just use compressed air, but is there a certain method to do it?
Is there a danger of "overspin", in regards to the fan on the inside (being that we can't hold the fan down while we're cleaning it)?
I've also been told to use a static free vacuum.
Which way is the safest, or most recommended?

I use canned air because it allows the dust to be blown back out the vent. I start a† one side with the extension tube that comes with the can and then run it across the length of the vent. I ave never had a problem with the fan. I don't do it for a long period on the fans area.
A vacuum will not yield the same results. You will clean the vent and a small area inside the vent. A vacuum works best when you can get inside and do it properly.

  • Is there a way of connecting the ipad to the smart board in the classroom, so that the smartboard is the control, and the ipad is displaying what is on the smartboard? This is to help a visually impaired child see what is on the smartboard.,

Is there a way of connecting the ipad to the smart board in the classroom, so that the smartboard is the control, and the ipad is displaying what is on the smartboard? This is to help a visually impaired child see what is on the smartboard.

    Absolutely!
Install Splashtop2 on the PC and enable it to be controlled or ran from iPad or Reflection to simply allow iPad to serve as PC unwired monitor. With Splashtop and an Apple TV connected, you use the smartboard as usual, yet the PC and iPad can see the same content. The impaired child can even interact with the Smart Board via the iPad as if he were writing directly on the big screen. Erasing functions can be done by touching the Smart Board manual controls. Several variables are in play that cause this lack of functionality:
Apple won't permit PC software that infringes its proprietary apps.
Smart Board companies refuse to develop iPad apps because they feel threatened and are being replaced by iPads
School districts think Apple TV is meant for copyright infringement and could expose them to safe harbor lawsuits
Network administrators make it impossible to login Apple TVs because they don't want the streaming occurring
Classrooms are not able to keep up with the technology of using the iPad
Clicker companies refuse to play with iPad because they see it as a potential threat to their core business clients
Apple is not working as hard as it could to exploit its capabilities in education, thus losing money in iPad sales
The bottom line is that we educators and technology developers are hurting our childern with petty conflicts.
