Your MBP is actually a mid-2010, not a 2008. That's what the 6,2 model indicates. There's an issue with the graphics module on that machine. There was a program in place to replace the motherboard within 3 years of purchase, but you're probably outside of that. Some folks have supposedly gotten theirs changed outside of that period, so you can try.

What you can do to use it is download gfxstatus from http:gfx.io and force the graphics to Intel. That would affect your work with Final Cut, but at least you might be able to use the machine.

This is because I have a copy of Protools I want to run on it and it has to be 10.6.1 or 10.6.2
    Help I'm desperate!!

The 2010 MBPs came installed with either 10.6.3, or 10.6.4 later in their lifespan. Earlier versions of the OS may not have the correct drivers for the Mac's hardware.
Ultimately, you might be better off upgrading your copy of Pro Tools, or updating the Mac to Yosemite and running Logic Pro X.

I have an Apple Trackpad that shows that it is connected with Bluetooth but it is not responding. I've tried restarting the computer, disconnecting and reconnecting and also turning the trackpad on and off but it simply does not respond. Does anyone have any idea on what is going on here?

There are reports of similar behavour but generally it is due to battery connections.   Is the indicator light working steadily or does it blink or even not function.   Here is the Apple document dealing with some of the problems.

Is your machine within the guarantee period or under Apple care.   If so, return it to any apple retailer for examination and possible replacement.

  • MacBook Pro 15 inch 2007 Model,No system

    Hello guys!
I've got an MacBook Pro 15 inch 2007 model, and i totally formated the hard drive on a normal laptop with windows system ( without making a backup before ) and now when i start the MacBook with the new formated hard drive in,says me to insert a bootable drive... The problem is that i don't have anymore the original cd of Mac Os to reinstall it,and now i don't know what really to do. How can i install the mac os x 10.4.11 or 10.4.9 again without a cd ? with an external hard drive maybe but how ? Please help !

10.2 will not work with any MacBook Pro.
    10.6 retail looks like:
And is only available through certain stores through the EU via a link such as:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
using the correct two letter code in place of us:
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/open/country_selector
    http://www.apple.com/usergroups/
may help you find a group of Apple users who travel who could bring you back the right disc.
I have already looked up Greece, and unfortunately they don't have an Apple Store to buy it from.

  • My MacBook Pro will not open any application or program that requires internet, even though I am connected to the web.

My MacBook Pro will not open any app or program that requires Internet, even though I am connected to the web. I recently installed Norton AntiVirus and think it may have changed a setting that I couldn't find. I uninstalled Norton and it didn't help. Every time I open Safari, iTunes or any other program that tries to connect to the Internet, it crashes. Strangely enough, Skype still works, but nothing else.
    I have OSx 10.6.8.
I have tried erasing plists, and all the standard troubleshooting, ie resetting modem, restarting computer, reloading Safari from disk.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I uninstalled Norton and it didn't help.
To properly uninstall Norton software follow these instructions - Locate Symantic Solutions folder inside the Applications folder at the root level of your HD, launch the Symantec Uninstaller application, select the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate, Norton AntiVirus & Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect entries and click the Uninstall button.
Confirm your decision when prompted and then enter your administrator password in the space provided.
Retart your computer & Norton should be gone for good.
If the above does not work, download a copy of Symantec’s RemoveSymantecMacFiles removal utility.  This utility will launch Terminal & remove the Norton components.
