HT2837 Firewire ports on the front and back...

The Firewire ports on the front and back... do they share bandwidth, or are they distinct and separate cards such that I can get (theoretical) 400Mb off of either, 800 total?

2008, A1186, MacPro 2.8 Quad.
Has both FW400 and 800 on the front and back.
Question still stands though. Are the ports on the front sharing bandwidth with the ones on the back?

First, try to reset the device by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not work, set it up as new device again, explained in this article:

If still no luck, get it serviced, the issue might not be software related.

How can I keep the front and back of a photo together in a single image?

I'm running PSE 8 on XP with SP3.
I'm getting ready to upgrade to PSE 9.
My cousin just sent me 24 old family photos.
On the back of each photo is a lot of information.
Who is in the picture, where it was taken, what the event was, etc.
What I'd like to be able to do is to scan these images in and somehow keep the front and the back of
each photo together in a single image. That way I can post them to a photo web site and people
can look at the image and read what it is.
I have a Lexmark Pro 205 printer/scanner.

I worked on one of the pictures with your Mom and Dad. These scans are quite good and there is a lot of information in them. One can spend a lot of time fixing them up - good project!
Here is what I did:
Duplicated background layer
Applied Brightness/contrast adjustment layer, worked the sliders
Merged down
Sampled sky with eye dropper tool, opened blank layer at top of stack, used brush tool to cover a few of the spots in the sky (?dust)
Merged down
Accessed Smart brush tool, selected black & white in drop down, selected high contrast b&w, covered the sky with that
Selected Yellow filter, and covered the ground
Merged down
Opened a blank layer at top of stack and added a couple of clouds
Applied Photofilter adjustment layer, warming filter LBA, adjusted density
Sharpened slightly with unsharp mask
Merged visible
Applied stroke
On review, the spots in the sky need additional work - they show up more on-line than in PSE. Can be fixed in step #4.

Possible to change the front and back speaker volume ?

Hello, as it says in the topic, i was wondering if it is possible to change the volume of the front and the back speakers (the same way it is possible to change the volume of the center speaker).
If anyone could tell me wether this is possible at all i would largely appreciate.

The older Mac Pros had a separate board for the front panel connectors. Looking at pictures of the 2009 Mac Pro back-plane board I can't see any soldered on connectors. Based on the link below for an older Mac Pro it looks like it could be as easy as making a cable to replace the front panel board USB cable with one that could connect to a USB PCIe card (when they are available for Macs).

Edit: Assuming that there is no additional circuitry on the front panel board that has to be USB3 compliant.
Edit (again): I missed the fact that USB3 uses a different connector so you would have to replace the entire board with one that has USB3 connectors on it. It is unlikely Apple or even a third party would make one.

While those numbers seem low its important to remember what the ipad cameras are for. They are not for taking photos. Who wants to hold up a huge ipad to take photos anyway when the chances are we all own a camera phone with much higher resolution or better yet, a real camera.
The cameras are designed for video. The front camera is good enough for facetime only while the rear can handle 720p video. Again, enough for a video call but thats about it.

Apple doesn't replace glass in the store. They replace the iPhone with a refurbished one.

Help! I just fixed my iPhone 4s (the front and back screen and charging unit) but my iphone won't turn on! the only thing that happens is when its plugged into a charger the apple logo comes and goes. I havent turned my iPhone on since the summer btw.

Take it back to whoever "fixed" it, or buy a new phone. Apple won't touch it now.

How to export in pdf format a book including the front and back covers?

I am trying to save in pdf format a book created in lightroom but unfortunately the saved file contains only the internal pages but not the covers. Is maybe there any setting to do?

Not directly from Lightroom unfortunately. I am assuming you want the pdf as the final output to send to people instead of a physical book from a commercial printing company. To achieve this you can fairly easily combine the pdfs outside of Lightroom. On the Mac, you can do this in Preview where you simply drag the page thumbnails between pdf documents. On a PC you need to use a program like Acrobat.

If you Google "iPhone 3gs parts" you will be able to find vendors that sell front and back panels. So, I would say it is possible to replace the front and back panels. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself unless you are experienced in this type of work.
