HT5312 I have forgotten my security questions and my rescue email does not appear to be one that I own. Is there anyway I can change my rescue email in this situation?
I noticed a week or two ago that somebody had downloaded something on my apple account and it was not me and it was not on any device I own. I changed my password but now I cannot buy anything since whenever I try to, it makes me confirm my identity by answering my security questions. I think I know the answers to these questions but I can never get it right, so I suspect that they were changed. I also noticed that my rescue email is not my own. I want to reset my security questions, and in order to do that I need to have access to my rescue email. I want to change my rescue email but in order to do that I need to answer my security questions. What can I do in this situation?
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

I followed these instrcutions and it is very frsutrating seeing as I have to answer my security questions to reset them ? When i cannot remember them. I already scheduled a call with Apple. The closest time available was Friday but I wantto see if i can fix it beforethen.
i know how you feel. im about to just give up and call apple support. it will be a lot faster than sitting around. Im sorry i wasnt much help.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Start here (change country if necessary) and navigate to 'Password and Security', reset your security questions using the link provided, you will receive an email to your rescue address, it has been reported that the email can take a while to arrive. Use the link in the email and reset your security questions.
If that doesn't help, you don't receive a reset email or you don't have a rescue address, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support. -

If you don't have access to your rescue email account then you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset (you won't be able to change it until you can answer 2 of your questions)

I am very frustrated as I have forgotten my security questions and need to clear them out. I have all of my other information on the account.
If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset (we are fellow users here on these forums).
