HT5622 my apple id and icloud id is different. My icloud is a old email address that dont even exist anymore. I dont even know the password to . Need to get it the same as my apple id.

My e-mail address apple id is different from my icloud e-mail address. The icloud address is an old one that doesn't even exist anymore.  I want to make my icloud e-mail to match my apple or itunes e-mail.

Hi Kim,
The password for your iCloud account and your Apple ID are one in the same, as the iCloud email account is an alias for your Apple ID as well.
After you set up your @icloud.com email address, you can use it to sign in to iCloud. You can also sign in using the Apple ID you used to create your iCloud account.
iCloud: Set up an @icloud.com email address
Cheers,

  • HT5312 I set up an icloud on an old email address that I can't access anymore. So I created a new account as I couldn't remember the security question answers for the old account. My iphone links to the old account. How do I change it to the new one?

When I set up the icloud I was using my then email address. My email address has now changed.
I tried to access under the old email address to change it to a new email address but I couldn't remember the security questions and as I can't access the old email address, I can't change it. So to solve the problem I set up a new account under the new email address. The only problem is my iphone is still asking for the old email address password which doesn't work.
How do I connect my iphone to the new account as it wont let me delete the old account on the iphone without the password (which as mentioned above doesn't work)?

    Content and Apple IDs -
Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

  • TS4036 Accessing iCloud account from old email address that's no longer active

HELP!  My iPhone 5 screen died and Apple cannot repair it.  The phone still works and it is under warranty but I am having difficulty getting my calendar, notes and contact info.  I was able to download the pictures on to my PC at home using iTunes but not the data. When I go to iCloud I get a message telling me to go to a message sent to the original email account used when I purchased my first apple product (laptop) but I no longer have access to that email account.  I have set up other iCloud accounts since then but seem to going in circles trying to find this very important data.  Before I return the damaged phone for replacement I want to make sure I have exhausted every resource.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
Note: this will only work if the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID).

  • HT201269 how do i switch off icloud if i dont know my password and its linked to an old email address that does not exist

i am trying to reset my iphone for my son to us but its asking for an old password for the icloud that i dont know and its linked to an old email account still for some reason and i no longer have it active

Then you're going to have to contact Apple and speak to someone in account security, because there is no way to bypass the activation lock.

  • Tried to restore from backup but it's asking for my iCloud password for an email address that doesn't exist anymore. What do I do?

I had my phone replaced today and have tried to restore from the backup I made this morning. It didn't restore properly so I wanted to try again but I can't as it asks for my iCloud password for a non-existant email account. I changed my iCloud email about 6 months ago but my phone still thinks that is the correct email and I can't change it, can't reset my phone, can't do anything. What do I do?

The fact that the email address doesn't exist anymore doesn't matter. As far as the Apple ID is concerned, the email address is just a user name. As long as you know the password you used, it should be fine.

  • Just got an iPad. Have had an iPhone. Phone was set up with an email address that is not good anymore, how do I charge the email address on account?

So my apple ID is my old email and I need to change it to my new email. I longer have access to the old email account.
I want to set up an iCloud and it wants to send confirmation to my email.
    Please help me out here

Fastest solution is to unfortunately create a new apple ID. If you create one directly off your iPad you'll be able to create an apple ID with an apple account ( [email protected] ), maximizing iCloud's potential devices
Otherwise going in the support section of the apple website you can send an email to apple support to escalate an investigation and help you retrieve your information but they may take more than 24 hours

  • Apple is sending a password reset to an email address that does not exist. How do I update the email? Can't find it in my account.

Why is Apple sending an email to an address I can't find in my account??

Apple will not send you password reset requests in an email. It is likely a phishing email trying to get your personal or security information. Ignore the request and send the email to trash. Do not provide any personal or security information in response to the email. Do not click on any links in the email.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID, verify the changes, enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone".
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, verify it once again, delete the iCloud account from your device and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • Whenever I update my iPhone software, it asks me to sign in to iCloud with an old email address.  My other devices all have the correct address.  How can I get the correct address for my iPhone?  The only Apple ID that works for logging in is my new one.

Whenever I update my iPhone software, it asks me to sign in to iCloud with an old email address.  My other devices all have the correct address.  How can I get the correct address for my iPhone?  The only Apple ID that works for logging in is my new one.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    You cannot merge accounts.
You need to sign into the old account on your computer.

Restart your Mac and immediately hold down the Shift key when you hear the startup chime to boot into Safe Mode. Keep holding the Shift key until you see a progress bar towards the bottom of the screen. You can let go of the Shift key at that point.
OS X asks you to log in (you will get this screen on a Safe Mode boot even if your Mac is set to automatically log in). Let the Mac finish booting to the desktop and then restart normally. This will clear Font Book's database and the cache files of the user account you logged into in Safe Mode.
Next, close all running applications. From an administrator account, open the Terminal app and enter the following command. You can also copy/paste it from here into the Terminal window:
    sudo atsutil databases -remove
Terminal will then ask for your admin password. As you type, it will not show anything, so be sure to enter it correctly.
This removes all font cache files. Both for the system and the current user font cache files. After running the command, close Terminal and immediately restart your Mac.

No, "My Number" was not listed in my Phone menu, I had to manually type it it.  Is there a way for that number to automatically be listed in that "My Number" spot?  Would that maybe have something to do with my phone number not being listed as an option in the "Send and Receive" spot under messaging???

  • How to remove the old email address that was hacked from my iCloud account when iCloud won't let me?

How to remove the old email address that was hacked from my iCloud account when iCloud won't let me?
Pretty much the the email that I used (but didn't verify) to create my iCloud account was hacked and now I can't remove it from my iCloud account due to the iCloud password also being changed by the same person and the fact I had "Find my iPhone" app on my phone also??? I had to change my iTunes email as well but that was far easier so yeah :S.
Please help. I live in NZ, out in the country, so reception is rare and so is getting into the nearest town that has an Apple Store.
    Thanks

If you truly change your existing Apple ID's email address to a new email address, follow these instructions: iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud
If you created a whole new Apple Account because you couldn't access the old one after being hacked, you will need to contact the Apple Account Security Team. Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security
