HT6114 how to reinstall OS X Mavericks

I had deleted some stuff contained in Library.
Now some of items like imessage is gone.
Also when I reintall Mrcro Soft office, it cannot be opened.
So how to reinstall to full fuction of OS X Mavericks 10.9.2
Please help.

Office 2004 and earlier don't work on 10.9.2.
If you can't afford an upgrade, see these alternative solutions:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/25349815
Other programs not directly compatible with 10.9.2 are ones that require Rosetta as this tip explains:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6271
To find missing applications that belonged to Mavericks without redownloading it, extract them using http://www.charlessoft.com/ Pacifist after downloading and saving the installer to a separate location from the download for Mavericks itself.
Running the 10.9.2 combo update will ensure you have the latest version
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1726
once you have extracted the software with Pacifist.

  • How to reinstall Mountain Lion after Mavericks OS has been installed without using the time machine?

Hi, I upgraded to Maverics a few weeks ago, and since than my computer has been very slow. It NEVER happened before. Now, I want to go back to Mountain Lion, but I didn't back up my computer with the time machine. I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me how to reinstall Mountain Lion again over Maverics? Thanks a lot for your help!

You will need either a bootable flash drive with Mountain Lion to install, if you have one, or reinstall Snow Leopard if your computer can boot Snow Leopard. Or you can use Internet Recovery to reinstall the original version of OS X that came with the computer. In any event you will have to repartition and reformat the drive.
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion on a New HDD/SDD
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your external hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

I am trying to reinstall OS X mavericks on my mac air... i keep getting a message that this option is temporarily unavailable... why?! help please!

How are you trying to install? Are you booted into in recovery mode, or trying to download from the app store?
Perhaps Apple's servers are not working correctly, or perhaps your internet connection isn't allowing the download etc.
Apple's servers had issues a few days ago, but I think it has improved now? When did you last try?

  • GarageBand '11 (6.0.5) How to reinstall MagicGB & Apple Loop Package?

    Alright,
Up until the newest update to OSX Mavericks (10.9) I was able to use Magic Garageband & Apple Loops Library with the free added content that it prompted me the first time I used it, which was about 1.5 gigs of content it downloaded directly from Apple. Now since the clean install of the new OS on both my late 2012 Mac Book Pro and late 2012 Mac Mini (both are drive free versions so they came with no discs), I no longer have either of these features in GarageBand '11 (6.0.5).
Does anyone know how to reinstall/download them?
Garage band used to download them automatically the first time I started up the software but now Magic Garageband has nothing in it and I get a popup anytime I open a new project saying "Please reinstall the Apple Loop Package".
Is anyone else having this isssue?
How would I go about fixing it?
    Thanks in Advance,

The saved effects are stored in your User Library - you need to uninstall it.
Quit GarageBand, if it is running.
Open your User Library and open the folder
    ~/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Plug-In Settings/Compressor/
Remove the setting you just created and saved from the "Compressor" folder.
Restart your Computer. (Don't skip this step - it is necessary in Mavericks).
Your User library is hidden by default since MacOS X 10.7.  Lion.
Select the "Home" folder icon (the little house)  in the Finder's sidebar and press the key combination ⌘J to open the "view options".
    Enable "Show Library Folder".

  • How to reinstall OSX10.9.2 on a late 2013 MacPro

Yesterday I wanted to reformat my hard drive and reinstall OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 to my brand new late 2013 Mac Pro. Upon looking through the forum I didn't find any straight and clear instructions on how to do this so I called AppleCare support and found the process surprisingly quick and easy, and not much different from previous procedures.
Apple told me that the not-so-well-known Internet recovery procedure is not really necessary (unless you have a specific technical reason to do so) and that I should use the following procedure which is easier and quicker.
So in case anyone out there is in the same position as I was last night, here are the simple steps to do a clean install (format your hard drive), and install OS X Mavericks 10.9.2.
You will need an Internet connection only. You do not need to use a USB key or any other disk. For this procedure. If you have other external hard drives attached to your system you don't need to disconnect them, but just make sure you don't accidentally erase them in the disk utility function. Also make sure you don't install the operating system to the wrong drive!
    The procedure is as follows:
    1. Make the obvious backups of any data you wish to keep to an external drive.
    2. Restart your MacBook Pro then immediately press command + R - keep this pressed until you see the OS X utilities menu
    3. From the OS X utilities menu, select Disk Utility
    4. Inside Disk Utility, select the Erase tab
    5. Now select your main hard drive (from the left hand side column of drives) that you wish to erase an format, then specify format (Mac OS Extended Journaled) and disc volume name (I would suggest Macintosh HD) then press the Erase button
    6. Once this has completed, Quit Disk Utility
    7. You should now be back in the OS X utilities menu (where you started) - Now select Reinstall OS X Mavericks
    8. Follow the on-screen prompts as usual
    That's it!!
You've now got a squeakyclean hard drive with a brand-new copy of OS X Mavericks!
This procedure was given to me by the AppleCare support team.

Save and store and installer package and make your own full clean reinstaller on any device, partition etc so you don't have to rely on internet and downloading (again) and can install easily on multiple disk drives or Macs for that matter.
How to make your own bootable OS X 10.9 Mavericks USB install drive
    http://arstechnica.com/apple/2013/10/how-to-make-your-own-bootable-os-x-10-9-mav ericks-usb-install-drive/
"If you use Internet Recovery to reinstall OS X, it installs the version of OS X that originally came with your computer."
And you may not want to do that, and have a full 10.9.x latest build instead.

  • HT201364 How Do i OS X Mavericks on Version 10.6.8?

How Do i OS X Mavericks on Version 10.6.8?

First, do the following, then download it for free from the App Store onto your computer.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Before you click on the Install button you might wish to do this, although it is not an installation requirement:
Make Your Own Mavericks, Mountain/Lion Installer
After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
Use DiskMaker X to put your installer clone onto the USB flash drive.
Make your own Mavericks flash drive installer using the Mavericks tool:
You can also create a Mavericks flash drive installer via the Terminal. Mavericks has its own built-in installer maker you use via the Terminal:
You will need a freshly partitioned and formatted USB flash drive with at least 8GBs. Leave the name of the flash drive at the system default, "Untitled." Do not change this name. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Copy this command line after the prompt in the Terminal's window:
    sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed to the screen so be careful to enter it correctly. Press RETURN, again.
Wait for the process to complete which will take quite some time.

  • How to reinstall pre-installed iWorks after hard drive replaced?

iWork was pre-installed on my iMac (July 2010) 3.2 gHz i3 running OS10.6.8. The original hard drive was recalled by Apple and replaced. I backed up all data to Crash Plan prior to the change out. When I tried to open any of the iWorks programs I received the following error message:
I checked my install discs and application install discs, but iWork does not show up there. How can reinstall these programs?

Thanks, mate, but the computer did not come with any iWork DVD. It only had the OS install disc and the Application restore disc, neither of which contain iWork. The error message reads: "Pages cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Pages works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X. Clic Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."
I sent a report to Apple. This message repeats for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. My original receipt shows the iWork app was paid for.

how to reinstall windows 8 on bootcamp macbook pro, without losing anything on OS (Apple) side

Start Bootcamp Assistant then select the option to remove Windows and return your drive to a single partition. Once Windows is removed start Bootcamp Assistant again and select the option to install Windows. Follow the Bootcamp instructions for installing Windows.
This process will not cause lose of OSx data or applications if done correctly. But as allways, create a good backup of your data because things sometimes go wrong or instructions are not followed causing data lose.

  • My hard drive crashed and I want to reinstall my personal itunes on another computer but I need to deauthorize my the original computer and I don't know how to reinstall.  Can someone help me please?

My hard drive crashed and I restored my computer with my daughter's hard drive (her battery was dead) and I want to install my personal itunes on the new hard drive.  I was unable to deauthorize the original computer and I do not know how to reinstall my personal itunes.  Can someone help me with this?
    Thank you.

Without a backup of your "crashed" HD you will have to download your iTunes purchases again. Make sure your restored computer is running the latest version of iTunes.
Here is the procedure for your reference.
On your restored computer, launch iTunes. Click on iTunes Store on the left
On the right you will see this
"Sign in" using the Apple ID used to purchase your songs, then click on "Purchased" (with the orange blob)
On the summary page that appears select the tab "Not on This Computer" on the right.
On the list that appears, select what you want and then click the "Download" button.
When you want to play your newly downloaded music, you will have to "authorize" it. Don't worry about the lost HD until enough of your computers crash that you reach the limit of 5. Then you can "deauthorize all" and re-authorize as necessary.
