  • HTML emails are blank in OSX Mail - but they show up fine in Entourage!

I send emails to a subscriber list through a third-party system.
The problem is what OSX Mail does with my HTML emails! OSX Mail users get emails that appear to be totally blank. On further inspection, though, the emails are not blank at all—all the information is there if you go to View>Message>Previous Alternative. In "Raw Text", the entire message shows up, including the plain text alternative which was sent along with the HTML, and which was SUPPOSED to show up if the HTML did not.
Notably, I've tested these same messages using Entourage to receive them on my Mac, and the messages show up exactly as they should. Is Apple aware of this problem????

Since in general OS X Mail receives html just, there must be something about the format used by your 3rd party sender which it does not like. To make Apple aware of the problem, use the feedback channel and send them the raw source which does not display.

    Hi,
I'm having trouble creating an html email that works accross

  • HTML Email Problem

    Hello,
I am creating an HTML email. I sent the email to someone who
opened it with Entourage on a mac - it looked great. Then I sent it
to some people who use Microsoft Outlook - it had some issues - the
main div tag was extending all the way to the right of the window,
but I had set the div to a fixed width of 600px. Also the image
maps that I had created for external links were now not over the
locations I had put them on (they had shifted out of place)
As I said, no problems in Entourage - it displayed and
functioned exactly how I intended. But in Microsoft Outlook, I had
    the above issues.
Any help would be much appreciated. I can send you the email
so that you can see what I am talking about.
If this is not the right place to post concerning HTML
emails, I would appreciate some guidance as to where I should go.
    Thanks
    Kit

  • HTML emails show up as code only, no formatting

    Hi All,
I am trying to learn how to send out HTML Newsletters for my clients. I have no trouble creating the design and layout (in GoLive), but when I cut and paste the code into Mail, it just shows up as code. I have uploaded my graphics to a server and have resolved my URLs to that server, so that's not the issue. It just seems to be something here. I've also tried it in Netscape Mail and Entourage, no good. I receive HTML email form others just fine. Ideas?
    Thanks for your help,
    MarkE

You can't cut and paste HTML code in the body of a message since the Mail.app does not include an HTML composer.
Save your GoLive document and open the document with Safari.
At the menu bar, go to File and select Mail Contents of This Page.
The rendered GoLive document in Safari will be copied to a new Mail.app message.

  • Sending HTML emails from Outlook

I am a Mac user and only know how to send an HTML email from
Entourage. How do I send an HTML email created in Dreamweaver from
a PC that uses Microsoft Outlook?

It's tricky in Outlook (Outlook Express lets you actually
edit the code directly if I recall correctly). But one clunky way
to do it regular Outlooks is to display your HTML page in your
browser. Not the source code, the resulting display page in a
normal browser window. Select all, copy, then paste into your HTML
    format message in Outlook.
Keep in mind if you're sending this to more than 50 people or
so you stand a real good chance of getting that domain/IP black
    listed.

  • 1 px border not displaying in HTML email

    Hi,
I created a HTML with a 1 px gray border. I opened it in Entourage and the border is not visible. Not sure why this is happening....
    Thank you.

Designing HTML emails is a challenge because email clients differ so much in what they do and do not support.  I don't know about Entourage specifically but Lotus Notes definitely doesn't support borders in HTML emails.

  • Sending HTML email

I am sending an HTML email. HTML created in dremaweaver, and
sent through Outlook Express... it all works fine... The design
looks good. The images are there. It all works fine except one
    thing:
    THE PROBLEM:
On the recieving end, the images also appear as "attachment"
files, even though I know I sent just HTML with images linking to
    my server.
    THIS IS WHAT I WANT:
Basically, I don't want the email to have attachments, but
just an HTML email and thats it.
    Please somebody Help!!!
So, What do I do to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Nenad

I'd love to see this, since Entourage is what I use. Can you
    send one of
these emails to me at forums at great-web-sights.com?

I even checked the newsletter in "Spamchecker" and it loved it. It said that is was great and that I really had nothing to clean. ---??? So I have no idea what's going on with Hotmail. I receive Html emails all the time in Hotmail. So I know it is possible!
OH! I also tried sending it through Entourage (Microsoft Office's "Outlook" for Mac) which was able to send it, but no images came up.... I look forward to a reply! Thank you for your help everyone!

    Does anyone have an ideas???

  • Send html email

    Hello...
    Tow html email quesiotns:
    1) I want to start sending promotional emails to my clients in html format. I believe that Entourage does not support this, but wondered if Mac Mail does.
    2) Is there a forum that gives instructions on how to create an html email?
    Thank you.
    DW

    1. Mail does support html, like Safari it's WebKit based.
    2. The forum you are in now (Mail & Address Book) will give you advice on html email. If it were me I would use an application like Dreamweaver that contains an html editor to simply create these (but there are other html editors available for OS X).

  • Optimizing html email

how much coding and programming go into email newsletters?
i subscribe to many and never have problems with spam
    filters, image viewing, ect......
how much work go into creating these services?
im a designer who has been contracted to create one,
but am i in over my head?
can my client expect near 100% success of her mail out
without the use of professional programing
(or the use of web services like constant contact or
    webmonkey)?
ive already pulled out my hair trying to get html emails to
    dipsplay properly.
(does any one know why entourage, yahoo, and mac mail,
download absolute linked images and display them as
    attachements
    AFTER the initial email????)
i thought this would be straight forward ! hah!
    any advice is appreciated,
    thanks,
    anton

  • Can I create html emails in iWeb?

I see those html emails with the colours and the embedded images and links to the website. The programming doesn't seem tough but I don't know how to create them and then how to send them.
I use Entourage for email but am not married to it, and wondered if anyone had any resources. I'm looking to do a newsletter style email (images links to site, etc.), not that different from an eVite, but I've not heard of anyway to create them.
    thanks
    enzosf

The way you do this currently is to create your web
page, open it with Tiger Safari, and use the menu
item for emailing the contents. However you may need
to put your page on a server and I think pages
created with iWeb may not work that well -- you would
    need to experiment.
I just did this both ways. Creating an email from an iWeb site hosted on the internet worked OK... but didn't pick up the background graphic, tiled.... maybe I just didn't wait long enough! (Ha!)
And I did it from the local files on my computer, (Publish to Folder), and it worked much better, picking up the background immediately.
So....open the page you want (index.html) in Safari>File>Mail Contents of this Page.
Would work GREAT just for doing an email Newsletter with Graphics and such!

  • Why is my HTML email showing up wrong in different email account?

I've seen this before and I think it has to do with CSS (which I realize isn't supposed to be in emails), but I'm super new to this and have scoured the internet to find out exactly what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it. It shows up properly in my Yahoo acccount, but not in my Gmail accounts (which initially threw it in Spam, if that has anything to do with it). I only know the very basics of HTML and CSS, but still have get this work done and I'm assuming someone will be able to view the code and see what my issue is pretty quick - I hope! It previews in browsers just fine, it's only when I'm click "Forward to a Friend" to send it to myself to test.
See the HTML and screencaps of the difference in view below...

Many mail clients reject images, JavaScript and embedded CSS styles.  For best results use plain text near the top to communicate your message and give a link to the actual web page on your server.
For mail clients that do have limited support for HTML, use uncomplicated tables and inline CSS rules (inside the body tag).
All that meta data description is a red flag to spam filters.  You shouldn't be using meta description or keywords in e-mails.

  • Help needed with creating HTML email in Dreamweaver

Hi everyone, would really appreciate some help with a dilemma or two that I have.
I have created the following newsletter in Dreamweaver and uploaded it to our website:
    http://www.nova-design.co.uk/sales/000030.html
Now, when I go into my email mass mailing client (Handymailer) and send a test out, I encounter a couple of problems.
Firstly, in Outlook when I receive the email, the grey table on the right of the eshot, is crushed and a lot of the single line text is forced to go over two lines...
Secondly, in Hotmail, the table displays fine, but it does say that "This message is too wide to fit your screen.  Show full message."
Once I click "Show full message" it displays in full, but I then need to scroll across to the middle of the browser to view the email.
If I left align the newsletter will this problem be solved?  Or is there a way in Dreamweaver that I can edit the entire page size so that it's not too wide?
The table is 600px wide so I assumed that any email sent out would shrink to this size.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!  This is the first full HTML email I have sent out so it's going to be far from perfect!

I need to look into using inline css styles, I have no idea how to so need to read up on those.
I created a transparent GIF and placed it, but that moves my text down because the image is in the way?  Am I doing that right?
Make the transparent gif 1px high.
Is it the links in the right column that go onto two lines? If so that could be because the links are wider than the actual column itself..so you will have to make column wider.
If you can't sort it, have  a look at the code below, copy and paste into a new Dreamweaver document and test out. Inline css styling is used in the code below. I've masked your email so no spam bots get hold of it.

  • HTML email and attachments don't work

I have programmed a simple PHP script to format a web page form response and send an email message as a report to my client as an HTML email, plain text alternate part, and with a small attachment. My client, using Apple Mail on OS X, only sees a plain text dump of the entire email message, headers and all. His mail client shows other people's messages of this sort properly. The hitch is that I can't figure this one out, because the same mails, when sent to other people, are perfect. They display properly in Windows email programs, and other people's Mac-based mail programs, and perfectly on any web mail interfaces I can find (e.g. Horde, etc). Does anybody have any suggestions as to what might be going on in this instance? (My customer has standard Apple Mail running in some recent flavor of Mac OS X).
