HTML emails show up as code only, no formatting

Hi All,
I am trying to learn how to send out HTML Newsletters for my clients. I have no trouble creating the design and layout (in GoLive), but when I cut and paste the code into Mail, it just shows up as code. I have uploaded my graphics to a server and have resolved my URLs to that server, so that's not the issue. It just seems to be something here. I've also tried it in Netscape Mail and Entourage, no good. I receive HTML email form others just fine. Ideas?
Thanks for your help,
MarkE

You can't cut and paste HTML code in the body of a message since the Mail.app does not include an HTML composer.
Save your GoLive document and open the document with Safari.
At the menu bar, go to File and select Mail Contents of This Page.
The rendered GoLive document in Safari will be copied to a new Mail.app message.

  • Why is my HTML email showing up wrong in different email account?

I've seen this before and I think it has to do with CSS (which I realize isn't supposed to be in emails), but I'm super new to this and have scoured the internet to find out exactly what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it. It shows up properly in my Yahoo acccount, but not in my Gmail accounts (which initially threw it in Spam, if that has anything to do with it). I only know the very basics of HTML and CSS, but still have get this work done and I'm assuming someone will be able to view the code and see what my issue is pretty quick - I hope! It previews in browsers just fine, it's only when I'm click "Forward to a Friend" to send it to myself to test.

Many mail clients reject images, JavaScript and embedded CSS styles.  For best results use plain text near the top to communicate your message and give a link to the actual web page on your server.
For mail clients that do have limited support for HTML, use uncomplicated tables and inline CSS rules (inside the body tag).
All that meta data description is a red flag to spam filters.  You shouldn't be using meta description or keywords in e-mails.
The article below has some good tips & resources for reliable e-mail templates you could use:

  • PSE9 - having trouble with "html email sender verification" page

We have just purchased the PSE9. This is our first venture into a photoshop program. We are wanting to send some of our pictures to friends via email. Just after we push the "share" button, to create an attachment for the email, we get this page "html email sender verification." It contains in the first blank, our email address (given), a button "resend email", and a blank entitled " Sender verification."  Below this box are the words:
"If this email address is not correct, or you would like to use a different e mail client, you can change your email settings by clicking Cancel and then choosing
    Edit ->Preferences->sharing."
At the bottom right are two buttons, "OK" and "Cancel"
When we put in our email address into the "Sender verification" box,  and press "OK" the next window is entitled "HTML Email Sender Verification" .  The only words on the page for us are  in red and they say:
"Your email could not be sent because an unkown error has occurred. Please try again."
Then we have the option of pushing the "OK" or "Cancel" button.
Can anyone help us get beyond this obstacle?
    THANKS!!

You need to enter the email id in preferences. Once you put it, you will receive a verification code. You need to put this verificaiton code in the sender verification window. This is required if you are using Adobe email service. You can change the email provider from sharing preferences.

  • Asp html email

    Hi Everyone,
I am creating a HTML confirmation email. We have events that people have to book for to get a place. As soon as they have booked a place - I want to be able to send an automated confirmation email confirming the time, date and venue.
The user gets to select radio button to choose which date suits them best.
    (radio button) date - event
(radio button) another date - event
(radio button) another date - event....
so the date and event are together
however on the confirmation email I put the date and event separately. I dynamically retrieve the relevant details for the confirmation email.
I use this code to retrieve the event & Request.QueryString("events")
(the value just contains the event - not the date)
How can I retrieve just the date alone on its own depending on the event they have chosen?
I tried this if statement: -
    Request.QueryString("events")
if eventdate = "event 1" then Response.Write"29/04/2010" else if eventdate = "event 2" then Response.Write"04/05/2010" else if eventdate = "event3" then Response.Write"16/06/2010" end if
This works when I test it in the browser. However as I am creating a HTML email - it is not working and I get an email with just "false"
Am I going in the right direction? or is there a better way of doing this?
I am laying out the email in a table.
Hope it makes sense and hope someone can help!
    Thanks

My client has made it a bit easier and no longer requires the date and venue details separate.
However I have come across another problem!
I am trying to add a PDF attachment to the HTML email using the following code
    Mail.AddAttachment Server.MapPath("guide.pdf")
I receive an email with all the HTML coding - with the attachment.
I found that the code worked for a simple text email. What am I missing for it to work for an ASP HTML email?

suddenly today my email won't display properly. html emails just display the actual html code instead of a graphic display. Text emails just show a blank page. I have changed the View setting to show messages as original html, simple html and plain text. None of the settings restores things. All these emails were viewable properly yesterday.
Anyone got any ideas as to what's up?

sounds like your index and the data are out of synch. Often the result of anti virus activity either blocking the update of the index or quarantining the whole inbox so there is no mail left to display.
Right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button.

  • Is profimail the only program to read HTML emails?

    Hi all,
Is profimail (www.lonelycatgames.com/?app=profimail) the only program to read HTML emails?
Overall I think it’s a good program and I wouldn’t mind paying to buy it. However, it feels very weird that not even top-notch and expensive mobiles like the E71 can read HTML emails without additional software! Plus, I’d like to consider alternatives before making up my mind and buying profimail. As much as I don’t like HTML emails, I receive plenty, which are almost unreadable and impossible to decipher if opened as text emails.
I think the main disadvantages of profimail vs the integrated email client, Nokia email (email.nokia.com) or whatever your operator provided (e.g. ‘email on 3’ provided by www.seven.com)are:
    - Price (profimail is not hugely expensive but not free)
    - Battery life: if used in imap idle mode, it drains the battery more than the alternatives outlined above
    - Not perfect integration with Symbian: you’ll see a small box on the homescreen with the number of unread messages, but you won’t be able to show the headers in the home screen. Not ideal but bearable; after all, it’s exactly what happens with sms messages
    And the advantages are:
    - Ability to read HTML email
    - True, instant delivery of emails if used in imap idle mode (it reconnects automatically if it loses the connection).
My experience with Nokia email and email on 3 used on the 3 UK network is that emails are delivered with delays, sometimes very considerable ones. My understanding is that these systems work by sending some sort of ‘silent sms’ which prompts the mobile to connect to the server and retrieve new mail only when needed. The bottleneck is that the silent sms doesn’t always arrive instantly, for reasons I fail to understand (network congestion maybe?). This was a great disappointment because I previously had a E61 with Blackberry connect which was great: emails did arrive instantly
Let me know your thoughts! Bye!

have you tried emoze ? and yes you might be right that it is a network issue rather than the program

  • HTML emails sometimes show up as blank in Mail

I send emails to a subscriber list, using ThirdSphereHosting's Automation Station. This works fine, as long as the emails are plain text. As soon as I send an HTML email to the list, Mac Mail users get blank emails. On further inspection, though, the emails are not blank at all—all the information is there if I go to View>Message>Previous Alternative. Suddenly the email is all there. In "Raw Text", the entire message shows up, including the plain text alternative which was sent along with the HTML, and which was SUPPOSED to show up if the HTML did not.
This seems to be a problem only affecting Mac users, specifically those using Mac Mail—myself included.
    Help!

Was a solution ever found in regards to this problem?
Does switching from Rich Text mail to Plain Text fix the problem?

Only Apple Account Security could help at this point. You can try calling Apple Support in Canada - you'll have to find one of the several ways, such as Skype, to call an 800 number from outside of the relevant country - and ask for Account Security and see if they can help. Or you can find a friend who speaks Chinese and ask them to help you talk to Apple Support in China. There are really no other options that I know of.
Note, by the way, that these are user-to-user support forums. You aren't speaking with Apple when you post here.

  • HTML emails are blank in OSX Mail - but they show up fine in Entourage!

I send emails to a subscriber list through a third-party system.
The problem is what OSX Mail does with my HTML emails! OSX Mail users get emails that appear to be totally blank. On further inspection, though, the emails are not blank at all—all the information is there if you go to View>Message>Previous Alternative. In "Raw Text", the entire message shows up, including the plain text alternative which was sent along with the HTML, and which was SUPPOSED to show up if the HTML did not.
Notably, I've tested these same messages using Entourage to receive them on my Mac, and the messages show up exactly as they should. Is Apple aware of this problem????

Since in general OS X Mail receives html just, there must be something about the format used by your 3rd party sender which it does not like. To make Apple aware of the problem, use the feedback channel and send them the raw source which does not display.

  • My emails show only the header and no content or attachments ?

My emails show only the header with no content or attachments on my iPad?

Quit the mail app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work, reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • I have several email accounts on my iphone but only my icloud emails show in icloud

is it normal that i backed up 3 email accounts to icloud but only my icloud email shows in icloud

    iCloud doesn't backup email accounts.
iCloud provides an optional email account that syncs between all your devices.
iCloud does nothing at all for external non-iCloud email accounts.

    Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
Thanks, let me know if the update helps,
    Nathan
