HTTP-404 ORA-06502  .. in APEX_030200.F

Hello all,
I randomly this Error: Page not found HTTP 404.
In Logfile mod_plsql.log :
[Thu Sep 17 13:43:38 2009] [error] [client 149.246.141.40] [ecid: 1253187818:149.246.166.230:2868:2432:1046,0] mod_plsql: /pls/htmldb/f HTTP-404 ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numerischer oder Wertefehler: Zeichenfolgenpuffer zu klein\nORA-06512: in "APEX_030200.F", Zeile 279\nORA-06512: in Zeile 23\n
Once this Error occurs, occasionally export and reimport works, if not I have to go back to a running version.
Unfortunately, this happens not to page I made changes on, the error occures on a other Page containing an interactive report.
Does anybody else has this problem ? I searched the Forum, but the similiar Posts are with DB-Version 9.x.., I'm using 10.2.
Any help is appreciated.
Heinz

thanks, i checked bug#4015165. that looks like it is the reason for my problems. (as stated the problems started with the upgrade on 9.2.0.6)
unfortunally there is no patch for windows available until now.
how does flushing the shared_pool influences the described behaviour? (i cannot try this before next week ... holidays)
does anybody know if there are other workarounds?

Following on from the previous problem I had with Error 33331, we moved the application to a new APEX installation. Everything was fine for 30 mintes until
we started getting this error :-
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SHOW'
I've put in tracing in the httpd.conf file at info level and switched on mod_plsql tracing. Everything went fine for another 40 minutes but we're now getting the same errors, the following is one of the mod_plsql trace files.
I have a hunch caching is at the root of the problem ?

  • Wwv_flow.accept HTTP-404 ORA-01031

Hi ... I am running APEX 3.0 ...I was having trouble uploading images in my applications and to test whether it was my apps or not, I created a new workspace with the standard sample application - which gives the same error as in my apps.
The error appears when I attempt to upload an image. The apache error log entries for this error are the following:
    [Sat May 19 12:28:07 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] [ecid: 1179595687:***.168.2.127:4272:4248:1,0] mod_plsql: /stage/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-404 ORA-01031: insufficient privileges\n
    [Sat May 19 12:29:52 2007] [error] [client 192.168.2.103] [ecid: 1179595792:***.168.2:4272:3064:13,0] mod_plsql: /stage/p HTTP-404 ORA-01403: no data found\nORA-06512: at "FLOWS_030000.WWV_FLOW_FILE_MGR", line 96\nORA-06512: at "FLOWS_030000.P", line 26\nORA-06512: at line 22\n
The forums expert assistance will be highly appreciated ...
    Thanks
    Pter

    Pierre,
Can you show us the block of code that is failing? The error message says it's getting a 1403 in the "p" procedure. That procedure is used for downloading, not uploading.

  • Switching theme gives WWV_FLOW_DISP_PAGE_PLUGS HTTP 404 error ORA6502

I have a default theme of Blue and had customised one template for the Reports theme and named it 'Customised Theme'. I had created 2 themes Sand and Business. After I switched theme to sand I get an error in the pages that I created the customized template.
    [Mon Feb 27 10:20:22 2006] [error] [client ] [ecid: ] mod_plsql: /pet/f HTTP-404 ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small

    ORA-06512: at "FLOWS_020000.WWV_FLOW", line 9307
    ORA-06512: at "FLOWS_020000.F", line 236
    ORA-06512: at line 10
I changed the template from 'Customised Theme' back to 'Reports region', tried switching it back again. Still the same error. I no longer use the 'Customised Theme', but still it gives me an error in the same page.
It gives this error in both the Sand and Business Theme. I deleted the themes and recreated the themes and still get the same error.
I created a new theme Theme 10, and switched it to this theme. There is no error and it gets displayed correctly.
How can I switch theme to Sand now and what is that error?
    Thanks

Whenever you make any changes affecting the behaviour of the page, the page gives a HTTP 404.
For example, I just changed the authentication to use my customised authentication, then I get the error. If I change it to database, then it works.
But again, after that if I change it back to customized authentication, AND change it to enable security, then it works.
In my local when I removed the Security it worked, but now when I add one more parameter to the URL Redirect for example add P30_EDIT_FLAG with a value of Y, it starts giving an Error.
If you want to simulate this behaviour in HTMLDB, just keep toggling between the SSP and Authentication, then you can get the 404 error. For example, first time if it works, then make any change - for example the SSP or Authentication, then it fails, if it fails, Make one more change (again either SSP or authentication - anything) then it succeeds.

  • HTTP 404 Error when attempting import

    Hi,
I'm trying to import an application into our UAT environment, which I've exported from the development environment, but am getting redirected to the HTTP 404 - page not found page when I click on the import button. I've also tried importing the application into the same instance as I exported it from, just to see if it was a database-specific issue, but get the same outcome.
    Export Db version: 10.2.0.2.0
    Import Db version: 10.2.0.4.0
    APEX version: 3.2.0.00.27
Below is a sample from the Apache error log file:
    [Mon Aug 24 12:11:09 2009] [error] [client 10.17.14.12] [ecid: 1251112269:10.17.8.36:31956:19164:1,0] mod_plsql: /pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-404 ORA-00942: table or view does not exist\n

I've also ensured that the PlsqlNLSLanguage entry is commented out of the dads.conf file, to ensure there's no confusion over the character set but this has made no difference either.
Hope someone out there can help!

    Hi Greg,
I've just tried running the script from SQL Plus as the schema owner (BAR_APEX), and it looks like it's failing at almost the first step where it's setting the credentials:
    SQL> @ C:\f114[2].sql

    Set Credentials...
Illegal security group id value for this schema.
    Check Compatibility...

    Your Current Version:20090112
This import is compatible with version: 20090112
COMPATIBLE (You should be able to run this import without issues.)
    Set Application ID...
    begin
    -- Remove Application
    wwv_flow_api.remove_flow(114);
    end;

I'll have a closer look this morning and report any interesting findings...

  • HTTP 404 Not Found - FLOWS_030000.F

I have an application which i exported (via apex) from a production database. I installed the exported file to development database and workspace. I did take measures to ensure the workspaceid's matched by editing the file, I also ensured wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id=
would be the same by editing the application export file.
I installed the application export to a new schema and workspace without any errors but when I run some of the pages, I'm getting an error of 404 Not found. Upon review of the Apace logs, I see.
HTTP-404 ORA-20001: Package variable g_security_group_id must be set.
    ORA-06512: at "FLOWS_030000.F", line 276
    ORA-06512: at line 10
I'm not seeing where "FLOWS_030000.F" is looking for g_security_group_id.
Also, on import/install of the application in the new db, I did allow it to generate a new applicationid rather than using the existing one from the script since it was already being used. Both db's are 10.2.0.2

    Scott,
I did install the app in a new workspace with an auto generated app id the first time without any luck. I then searched the forum on the error "package variable g_security_group_id must be set". This is where I found some responses to editing the export file to ensure the workspace id's will match.
Anyway, I started over, deinstalled the app, took a current export and installed it into a new workspace with a new app id.
The application is the Ask The Expert app with a few modifications. The error "ORA-20001: Package variable g_security_group_id must be set." is coming up when you are on page 41 (When you accept the New Questions Policy) and click the continue button. This should take you to Page 2 (Submit Question) page but it throws the above error. Running debug isn't helpful to me in trying to figure out why the error keeps coming up.
What else can I do to troubleshoot? I can't even run page 2 alone so I'm fairly certain this is where the error is coming from.
Any insight would be very helpful.
    Thanks!

  • Wwv_flow.accept HTTP-404 (htmldb 1.6)

    Hi,
I am unable to upload any files into htmldb 1.6 on 10g (running on Linux RHEL3).
To upload an image I perform the following steps:
    - go into the shared components section
    - click on the images link
    - click create
    - browse for the image
    - click upload
In the Apache error file it gives the following:

On Metalink a FIX for this problem found in Note:301329.1:

The fix was applied but I am still receiving the same error even after restarting the Oracle HTTP Server.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Ver1.6: htmldb_admin delivers ORA-06502

    Hi all,
after installing ver 1.6 we have some problems with logon to htmldb:
    Installation :
Machine 1: Linux-x86 ( Non SLES ) ORACLE 9.2.0.6 contains "mydb". There are different Workspaces for htmldb Applications.
    Machine 2: Linux-x86 ( SLES-8) CompanionDisk htmldb1.5 upgraded to 1.6 connected to "mydb".
Additionally after upgrade I ran the lang_de.sql Language Pack.
I received the htmldb_admin Page, but Logon from a Client with Browser(lang: de) failed mostly.
Today I was able to open htmldb_admin with the browser of machine 2. That ones lang was set to "en-us". It worked.
In Fact that it's not a good choice for working on an team :-)
    Error_log shows :
    First atempt from Client1 ("german machine", iexplore 6x) : / pls/htmldb/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-404 ORA-6502: PL/SQL numeric or value Error ORA-06512 at line 10.
Second attempt from Machine2 ( SLES-8, DE) with Mozilla("en"): It Works
Third attempt from Machine2 with Konqueror("de"). Failed as described above.
Even I'm not able to open any of the other Workspaces with the htmldb.
    what to do?
    Regards Franz

    Franz,
Bug 4015165 is listed as an issued "introduced in 9.2.0.6". As well, if you look at Note 295550.1, it describes this problem and how it impacts HTML DB.
The fix is to install the patch from MetaLink, patch number 4015165. It is a patch for 9.2.0.6.

    Hi Chris,
    The ORA-12514 is -
    jes@shellprompt[7:22am]~> oerr ora 12514
12514, 00000, "TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor"
// *Cause:  The listener received a request to establish a connection to a
// database or other service. The connect descriptor received by the listener
// specified a service name for a service (usually a database service)
// that either has not yet dynamically registered with the listener or has
// not been statically configured for the listener.  This may be a temporary
// condition such as after the listener has started, but before the database
// instance has registered with the listener.
    // *Action:
//  - Wait a moment and try to connect a second time.
//  - Check which services are currently known by the listener by executing:
    //    lsnrctl services <listener name>
//  - Check that the SERVICE_NAME parameter in the connect descriptor of the
//    net service name used specifies a service known by the listener.
//  - If an easy connect naming connect identifier was used, check that
//    the service name specified is a service known by the listener.
//  - Check for an event in the listener.log file.So looks like problems with your listener, the ORA-3113 is more serious -
    jes@shellprompt[7:52am]~> oerr ora 3113
    03113, 00000, "end-of-file on communication channel"
// *Cause: The connection between Client and Server process was broken.
// *Action: There was a communication error that requires further investigation.
//          First, check for network problems and review the SQL*Net setup.
//          Also, look in the alert.log file for any errors. Finally, test to
//          see whether the server process is dead and whether a trace file
//          was generated at failure time.An ORA-3113 usually means a call to support because something has gone very wrong (the error is kind of a last ditch message that something serious went wrong, but the message itself is not specific about what that 'thing' was, however support can track it down from the logs/traces etc).
How reproducible is this? Was it a 'one-off', or if you restart the listener if everything back to 'normal'?

  • HTTP 404 error occurs randomly when navigating to HTMLDB pages

Oracle support have asked me to raise this issue here (ref TAR 4248522.999).
    Environment:
    Windows 2003 server
    Oracle DB version 10.1.0.2.0
    Oracle HTMLDB v 1.6.0.00.87
    Problem:
When navigating to an HTMLDB page using a list item, an HTTP 404 error occurs randomly. There is no error in the database alert log BUT the following error is reported in the Apache log file which is recorded whenever the HTTP 404 error occurs:
    [Thu Jan 20 09:58:48 2005] [error] [client 10.25.22.163] [ecid: 1106215128:10.25.22.53:3576:3352:23759,0] mod_plsql: /pls/htmldb/f HTTP-404 ORA-00001: unique constraint (FLOWS_010600.WWV_FLOW_DATA_IDX1) violated

A list item is being used for navigation. It has been setup with a target type of 'Page in this Application' and a Page number of a page in the application. The checkbox 'reset pagination for this page' has been
checked. The problem occurs when launching the application directly in a new browser or
when running the application using the Application Builder's run application.
    The error occurs intermittently.

I'm from support , The customer has open an SR
    TAR:4248522.999 to this issue.
He updated the SR with following.
I have not been able to re-produce this problem with the sample application.

  • Got "HTTP - 404" error when apply change of report attributes

    Environment:
    Oracle 10g (not XE)
    APEX 3.1.2.00.02
    Oracle HTTP Server
I tried to modify a page in "101 - Sample Application", changed the report attributes (changed the heading type from Column Names to Customer), and when I applied the change, I got a "HTTP - 404 Page not found" error.
In error log file of Apach, the error message is "mod_plsql: /pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-404 ORA-25402......"
    Anyone can help me? Thanks.

Please tell us your first name and update your profile with it to help us. Thanks.
changed the report attributes (changed the heading type from Column Names to Customer)I don't follow that.
Can you install this application into your workspace on apex.oracle.com (request one if necessary) and reproduce this problem there?

  • HTTP-404 SIGNATURE (parameter names) MISMATCH

    Hello,
When trying to upload files in APEX Application, I get "HTTP 404 Not Found". In the Apache error log file I find the following:
mod_plsql: /dmgrdev/f HTTP-404 \nf: SIGNATURE (parameter names) MISMATCH\nVARIABLES IN FORM NOT IN PROCEDURE: P\nNON-DEFAULT VARIABLES IN PROCEDURE NOT IN FORM: \n
    mod_plsql: /dmgrdev/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-404 ORA-00942: table or view does not exist\n
I've tried editing DADs file but this has not seemed to help. Is there something I'm missing? Please help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jayna

It turns out that this was occuring due to missing rights. If you're not setting PlsqlDatabaseUsername in dads.conf file, then you have to grant necessary rights used by APEX_PUBLIC_USER or HTMLDB_PUBLIC_USER.
    Thanks
    Jayna

  • HTTP 404 : File not found

    ALL,
I'm trying to access a specific packaged procedure from my application interface on IE. When I click on a 'Find' button (which needs to access a package PKG_WMM_ENR_TXN_MB.P_1141_LOV) , I'm encountering this HTTP 404 error. As such, I've thoroughly confirmed the validity and availability of this package as well as the procedure within that package. Also, the Administrator says that the webserver is working fine. Could there be any other reason for the error? I feel this is one of the most difficult errors that we can face.
However, for more information, I tried to execute this package from SQL*PLUS like this:
    execute PKG_WMM_ENR_TXN_MB.P_1141_LOV('LT','WMS11','checked');
    And, I get this result:
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.OWA_UTIL", line 323
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.OWA_COOKIE", line 31
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.OWA_COOKIE", line 117
    ORA-06512: at "WMMWEB.PKG_WMM_AUDIT", line 71
    ORA-06512: at "WMMWEB.PKG_WMM_COMMON_UTILS", line 982
    ORA-06512: at "WMMWEB.PKG_WMM_ENR_TXN_MB", line 294
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error
    ORA-06512: at line 1
So, could this be the cause of my HTTP 404 error? If yes, how do I tackle this? Any clues please.

    nbellam,
Yeah, I'm using the OWA packaged procedures directly without using mod_plsql (I'm indeed unaware about this). However, there hasnt been any change in the application recently. This has been working for 4 years now, and suddenly I've been having this problem since 3/4 days.

The oracle application express environment is created by installing the HTTP Server on the windows server and the application express 3.2.1 components on the 11.1.0.7 oracle database on UNIX. The installation is successfully and have not seen any issues during the installation. After completing all the steps, when tried to login and click the application builder or workspace components, I see the error message
report error:ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number.
This error message is seen on most of the pages when trying to accessed and not able to understand the reasons behind it. Its a brand new environment setup and not even presented to developers to test it.
Below error message is always seen when trying to access most of the components like application builder, schema comparison and some other tabs. Please advice

I think its better you use APEX 4.x version ratherthan using old version.
You will get more features and some bug fixes and also it's easy for you to get some help when you need.
