Human Task Fails on SUBMIT

Hi,
My environment is a Windows-7 64 Bit machine and i am running the SOA stack 11.1.1.4.0
I could successfully deploy a Hello World process which has a Human Task which has a Initiator UI. It shows up under the Applications link. When i hover on the "[HelloWorldProject] HelloWorldProcess v1.0" it shows the following http://localhost:7001 etc... on the bottom of the IE browser. However when i launch the task the link changes to include my machinename as shown in the link below. The form displays but when i SUBMIT ... it comes back with the page cannot be found.
I have a mapping in my host file "127.0.0.1     MyMachineName"
http://*MyMachineName*:7001/workflow/HelloWorld_UI/faces/adf.task-flow?_document=WEB-INF%2FSayHello_TaskFlow.xml&bpmWorklistLogin=login.jspx&tz=America%2FChicago&bpmWorklistContext=07e18d54-b240-4ac5-9a50-152ed8401968%3B%3B0fjwVB8w1%2F1CHa9Tv4WIk0yzhcs6FdClxOtXXNhzuwRX3trElq6anNHTn3ywD%2BND6ZXIkysOQDlrYvX5dK2qu6V6T458uY7Tzoo63AAgz7Pi%2BHhjtLD8xdnAB14FLVFCyiL38IQbE99ibg52i62EzvWwmN%2BVAhon%2F0Nd2vBZypNOW4v%2BJM5k9DAxytzTVZApmBALwrT549AYdgsdW5qCAtT9%2FxesdvTDVCoQ8zzaSYT0zGdq6FvDzUv2KQOikFjb&bpmWorklistTaskId=20e217f5-4458-4bac-b65e-255f87a16518&_id=SayHello_TaskFlow&lg=en&cy=US&bpmWorklistLogout=logout.jspx&bpmWorklistHttpURL=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%3A7001%2Fbpm%2Fworkspace&bpmBrowserWindowStatus=close&_afrLoop=12875320548488&_afrWindowMode=0&_afrWindowId=_appTaskForm
Please advice.
Thanks

I could fix this problem by going to the following location
Go to OEM, select the SOA Composite application you deployed.
Under Component Metrics … click the link of the Human Workflow Component that you have the issue
The settings of the Human Workflow Component would be displayed
Click the Administration tab, you will get the URI setting for the human task
update the Host name etc. as you want and click "OK" then click "Apply"
This was suggested by a forum user who was having a similar issue.

  • Human task problem

    Hi.
    Im using SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0 with Jdeveloper from the same version.
    I added 3 receive activities
    1. starter messagetype 0 input... intitating correlationset, createinstance.
    In a flow
    2/a. one receive with messagetype 1 input not initiating cor.set, not creating instance
    2/b. one receive with messagetype 2 input not initiating cor.set, not creating instance
    everything works fine, the console routes the interactions back to the process until ...
    ... I add a human task under 2/a.
    after adding it ... i can initiate the process, but cannot use interactions ... as after clicking the send the xml button ... nothing happens (no error msg), printing the flow indicates that the receive activity still is waiting for asynch callback.
    guess the humantask somehow messes up the correlation, but im stuck right here.
    any help is greatly appreciated, thx
    tg

    one more thing...
    figured out that if I if ...
    1. i use the interaction of 2/a (or 2/b) ... this will fail ... but after that using the other one does succeed ... I still cannot use the first one though, and usertasks after the successful receive do fail as well.
    3. I use the manual recovery ... I can make the first interaction work and after that one worked, I can use the other one as in the previous option ... any following human tasks fail when acted upon in the worklist app. (X Your request was not successful.)

  • Unable to deploy BPM projects with human tasks from BPC

    I’m trying to edit and deploy a BPM process from Business Process Composer (web based tool). To do it, I followed the steps below:
    1.     I created I project in JDeveloper
    2.     I created the Human task from using the “Auto-generate task form” option
    3.     I converted it to a template
    4.     I published it to BPM MDS
    5.     On Business Process Composer I created I new project based on my published template
    6.     And I finally I deployed it with no errors.
    When I ran the BPM it creates I human task but I’m not able to access its form on Business Process Workspace.
    On Business Process Workspace I can see the task created by my BPM process, but when I click on it to access its form I get a 404 message (message below).
    Error 404--Not Found
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not Found
    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
    I think this error occur because my Task form project was not deployed. To fix it I undeployed all the applications and then I deployed the BPM application with all its tasks forms from JDeveloper. It worked fine (I can actually access the task form on Business Process Workspace), but now I’m not able to edit the BPM process on Business Process Composer anymore.
    Then I finally repeated the steps 3 to 6 on top of this post in order to make the BMP process editable on Business Process Workspace but this time I receive the error at the end of this post taken from server log.
    No matters if I publish the project on MDS BMP repository as a template project or as non template project. I always have the same problem.
    So, how can I use a BPM project that contains Human Tasks forms on Business Process Composer?
    I’m using:

    I came across the same issue, and now resolved it like this.
    Firstly, you shouldn't deploy QuoteProcessLab with other UILabs like ApproveDealUILab and so on. So, if you already did it, then go to Weblogic EM and undeploy it.
    Secondly, you should deploy each of UILab separately as standalone application. So, deploy EnterQuiteUILab, BUsinessPracticesUILab, and so on each. These will run independently behind and when your project created based on template in the Composer runs, it will link each of these on human task.
    Thirdly, publish you QuoteProcessLab. And follow the book about how to create a project based on template in the Composer.
    Just one thing you should be careful with is, when you do auto-generation for human task, it sometimes doesn't work fully, unfinished halfway through. So, make sure that the icon 'go to existing business form taskflow' in .task file takes you to the human taskflow.
    If it fails, do another auto-generation. Sometimes DataBindings.cpx can get corrupted by JDev, but let's not go too far for now.
    Mostly, it will work.

  • Human tasks, complex types and variable assignment.

    Hi folks,
    I encountered a problem while working with 10.1.3.1 which I haven't managed to solve yet and would be grateful for assistance. I have defined a complex data type (just a sequence of strings) and want to fill that data type by going through a flow of screens, e.g. through several human tasks. I have defined that type as a variable to the BPEL process and have managed to assign simple expressions to the variable and pass that into a Human Task. In the task I see now a simple input form for all attributes of the type.
    Now the problem. After I fill out the form and complete the human task, I have
    The global variable:
    <outputVariable>
         <part xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" name="payload">
              <MyProcessResponse xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/VacationRequest">
                   <vorname/>
                   <nachname/>
                   <strasse/>
                   <nummer/>
                   <postleitzahl/>
                   <stadt/>
                   <maximaleDauer/>
                   <minimaleDauer/>
              </MyProcessResponse>
         </part>
    </outputVariable>
    and the return value from the human task:
    <task>
         <title>CaptureData</title>-
              <payload>
                   <MyProcessResponse>
                        <vorname>David</vorname>
                        <nachname>Beckham</nachname>
                        <strasse>HighStreet</strasse>
                        <nummer/>
                        <postleitzahl/>
                        <stadt/>
                        <maximaleDauer/>
                        <minimaleDauer/>
                   </MyProcessResponse>
              </payload>
    </task>
    Now the only thing I would like to do is to replace the original values in the variable with the new values that have been returned from the task, this should be performed in an extra assign step. Sounds simple. JDeveloper wouldn't even let me klick through the return value from the HumanTask, so it seems as if I have to do things manually.
    These are my tries:
    Command 1:
    <copy>
         <from variable="CaptureData_1_globalVariable"
    part="payload" query="/task:task/task:payload" />

    </copy>
    Result 3:
    --> Task does't return (!!!). In the BPEL Worklist, the task is completed, however in the BPEL console it still apears as "waiting to return from Human task".
    Does anyone have a hint on how to copy the values so that I get exactly the structure that I printed at the very top?
    Thanks for help. Rock On !

    Hello everyone,
    It seems that we are talking about different things, I am afraid. Let me describe the scenario once again:
    - I want to have a BPEL process with more than one role involved
    - This process should be used to gather some complex data.
    - All data gathering should be done through HumanTasks.
    So I defined an xsd complex type, that contains a sequence of fields. This complex type should be part of the process payload.
    Now before HumanTask 1 is called, I copy the contents of this variable into the input for tasks1. This works fine and I see the appropriate values, when opening the Human Task in the BPEL worklist application.
    Now after HumanTask1 is completed, the values I entered inside that tasks are returned as a variable from the HumanTask. My problem is, that I cannot copy the contents of the task back into the main process. With simpleTypes this is relatively ok, since Jdev supports the assembling of the copy operation, however for complex tasks it fails.
    A typical scenario for this would be where e.g. a customer fills a shipping address and afterwards a store staff fills product details in the same order. In Java this could be solved via "pass by reference". Who can provide an example?

    Thanks,
    Manoj

    What I suggest is go into EM and undeploy this composite and all versions. (Only if you don't want the existing ones). Then redeploy your process. This will avoid the version conflict and create a new version. 1.0. Then the next time you try and deploy you need to either specify a new version or check the box to say the version can be over written.
    cheers

  • Problem in setting dynamic expiration duration from Human Task

    Hi,
    I have a BPEL process, in which the Human task expiration has to be set dynamically..
    In the , I have set the expiration duration with this :-
    <copy>
    <from expression="xp20:format-dateTime(xp20:current-dateTime(),'PT1M')"/>
    <to variable="initiateTaskInput" part="payload"
    query="/taskservice:initiateTask/task:task/task:systemAttributes/task:expirationDuration"/>
    </copy>
    Do not get confused with 'PT1M' .. I want the duration to be 1 minute... Had I used 'PT1M' as a String and assign to the expirationDuration var, it would have caused an error... It needs to be fromatted as a Date..That's y i took this approach ... I am sure this is working fine as I have checked the payload of the task..
    It has a proper duration..
    <initiateTaskInput><part xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" name="payload"><initiateTask xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/taskService">
    <task xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/task">
    <systemAttributes>
    <expirationDuration>PT1M</expirationDuration>
    Now in the Human task definition(.task file), I have set the expiration duration with "By Expression" option in this way..
    <globalConfiguration>
    <owner>oc4jadmin</owner>
    <expirationDuration duration="/task:task/task:systemAttributes/task:expirationDuration"
    type="XPATH"/>
    </globalConfiguration>
    The problem is the task(at runtime) cannot evaluate the expirationDuration from the XPATH..
    I checked with the WF_TASK table in the orabpel schema ...
    When I use a static duration EXPIRATIONDURATION cloumn gets assigned properly (ie PT1M).. But when i take the XPATH approach, it translates to PT0S.
    Can someone look into this please ?
    Struggling with this for quite sometime...

    If the Human Task shows status complete, then it's possible that there was an error in the output data association in the process. In EM do you see a fault on the output for the Human Task activity, or if PS4FP the process will go to suspended state if the data association fails.

  • Warning after creating Human Task Flow in ADF project

    I'm using JDev 11g and have created my SOA Composite containing a Human Task. After I generated the Task flow based on Human Task in my non-soa application, I get the following warnings which are preventing my application from building and deploying to the admin server. I have followed the instructions in the Developer's Guide for Implementing an ADF Task Flow for a Human Task.
    Warning: <Feb 22, 2010 9:47:59 AM PST> <Error> <J2EE> <BEA-160187> <weblogic.appc failed to compile your application. Recompile with the -verbose option for more details. Please see the error message(s) below.>
    Warning: Unresolved WebApp library references defined in weblogic.xml, of module 'public_html' [Extension-Name: oracle.webcenter.framework.view, Specification-Version: 11.1.1, exact-match: false], [Extension-Name: oracle.applcore.view, exact-match: false].
    Did I miss a step somewhere, I've double checked the class libraries, but am not sure what I should be looking for, I added the recommended libraries to the class path per the Developer's Guide.

  • How to retrieve a due date from a human task and create a report in BAM with it

    Hi.
    I'm working with a BPM process, the requirement is that I have a human task and a working hours limit to complete it. For this purpose I created a calendar in the bpm workspace and I've associated it to a role that executes that human task. Now I need to know how can I pass it into a data_object in BAM in order to create a Dashboard that lets me know whether a human task was completed just in time.
    I'm using Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.7.0
    Thank you.

    There's a correction to the code. For whatever reason doing it that way still sets it as a "remind me when" parameter. Use the following code instead:
    tell application "System Events" to set FrontAppName to name of first process where frontmost is true
    if FrontAppName is "Reminders" then
              tell application "Reminders"
                        set duedate to (current date) + (2 * days)
      make new reminder with properties {name:"New Reminder", due date:duedate}
              end tell
    else
              display dialog "failed to make new reminder!"
    end if

  • Human Task in Compensation Handler - Error in Compilation

    Hi,
    I am developing a BPEL flow in which i need to have a Human Task in a BPEL Flow's Compensation Handler.
    The compiling fails saying receive from the human task has e a createInstance='no'.
    If i make it 'yes' (just to check) it fails saying createInstance is already made 'yes' in the main receive which instantiates the process itself.
    May I know if it is a bug? I am using Jdeveloper Studio 10.1.3.3.0.4157
    Is there any workaround for this?
    Thanks,
    Pavan.
    If not, how wld

    Hi Anirudh,
    Thanks for quick reply.
    I have a requirement where based on certain condition i need to update the task and reassign it.
    There is a batch that runs and performs the task. While doing so i dont have any info as to whom
    the task is assigned.
    So i am using bpeladmin to perform the task.
    If task is assigned to user and i try to update the task using bpeladmin then am able to do so.
    But if the task is assigned to Group i am getting the error. If task is assigned to user, i am able to
    acquire the task but not able to update the task.
    While updation it shows the task has been acquired by some other user.
    Is there any other way by which i can implement the same ?
    Regards,
    Bhavik

  • Human Task string payload size restriction

    We are developing a BPEL process with a Human Task component for an operational support app. The idea is whenever a message fails in the service bus due to transformation or validation error, we need to send that payload to this bpel process , which will create a human task and an operational support personnel ( both business & technical) will fix the payload via bpm worklist app and then bpel can resubmit the message to the service bus.
    In this app, we are trying to send the failed message as a string payload to the task . Most of the payloads are of csv and fixed length type and we can't wrap it in xml , because the business users who might be acting on fixing this payload are not XML familiar. And the payload sizes vary from 1 kb -4 MB
    When testing this , we have hit the below error during task initiation , which I think says string payloads should n't be more than 2000 bytes in size
    Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12899: value too large for column "DEV1164_SOAINFRA"."WFMESSAGEATTRIBUTE"."STRINGVALUE" (actual: 2183, maximum: 2000)
    In this context, can you suggest what possible options I have. One option I can think of is wrapping the payload in XML instead of string, which is not so liked here..
    TIA,
    Atheek

    We solved this by transforming the XML when entering a human task. The transformation removed any attributes in the payload. This solved the issue.

  • BPM 11g deployment error when include Human Task

    During deployment, when I include a Human Task in my BPM 11g project, the deployment fails.  The error message in JDeveloper is:
    Weblogic Server Exception: weblogic.application.ModuleException:
    Caused by: weblogic.common.ResourceException: weblogic.common.ResourceException: Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was: [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified
    If I don't include the Human Task application in deployment, it's fine.  I used the Auto Create feature to generate the ADF project/form.  I've deleted and recreated the Human Task, but that hasn't helped.
    What can cause this error?  I've googled for days, but have not found anything similar.

    Kunwar - Thank you very much for your reply.  I checked in EM under Applications, and there is no application with the name of my Human Task application that is part of my BPM project.  To be sure, I just rebooted the server and checked again, but it is not there, and the reboot did not solve the problem.
    I'm not sure if this is related to the problem, but here is some other information.  A few days ago when I tried to redeploy just the BPM project (keeping save revision, and checking "Overwrite any existing composites"), I received a null pointer exception error.  Since then, I must Undeploy the BPM Application using EM to then redeploy it using JDeveloper.  Here is the error I was getting:

  • Migrating 10g Human Task Bpel process to 11g - No task flow

    Hi All,
    I have migrated a bpel process that has a human task to 11g. I need to stipulate the uri so that it will show on the worklist.
    Apparently there is a file in the WEB-INF folder that i must reference. I went into the folder and there is many xml files(adfc-config.xml,faces-config.xml,trindad-config.xml, web.xml, weblogic.xml) there is no file generated from the migration. Hence how do i go about to get the correct uri and for the worklist to show.
    Below is an incomplete uri
    /workflow/ExceptionHandlerTaskForm//faces/adf.task-flow?_id=ExceptionHandler_WF_1_TaskFlow&_document=WEB-INF/

  • Error deploying Human Task Projects

    I am having some problems with the deployment of Human Task ADF Projects to the SOA Server.
    I've managed to deploy other ADF applications, however when I try to deploy a generated ADF Project for a BPEL Human Task I get the following error:

    Its due to JDeveloper installation or cache issue...
    I uninstalled completely and installed again. I am able to create Human Task now. Maybe it helps someone.
