Hyper X RAM

Hey all,
I have a question or two hopefully someone can shed some light, i've spent a couple hours reading all (ok maybe not all the threads),but can't seems to really find realvent info
OK i got Kingston Hyper X memory rated at 2700 (i know it should be able to run 3200), any how my problem is no matter what i can't change the DRAM clock it stays at 333 . I have my CPU Bus at 200 and the DRAM Freq set to 400. I have also set the performance to fast and i have tried changing the overclocking from private to the next step up and disabled. I have uped the volts to 2.6. Could someone possible explain what i might be doing wrong.
And then part 2 : Has anyone experienced issues with the onboard audio. I have been having issues when playing mp3's, i will get occasional pops in the audio output. Now that i think about it while i had been playing games i did not experience this issue. ANy idea's ?

I too have and continue (intermitantly) to experience this with the 865 mobo I am using Winamp2&3. Same MP3 files served over intranet on a different mobo and Winamp2/3 does not cause a problem. Same MP3 files on same mobo using Windows Media Player does not cause problems (this is my work around). To date I have treated the problem as a low level irritant and have not troubleshot.
Look forward to a permenant solution.

Windows 2008 R2 Hyper V : Memory leak

We have a memory leak problem on TSE 2008 R2 server with Hyper V and Oracle 11G client.
The used memory is never released until the server crash.
(The database is on another server with TSE 2008 R2, and no virtualization.)
Someone has encountered this problem ?

ThinkPad W520 & Kingston Hyper-X DDR3 PnP 1600MHz Compatibility

Hello all,
I just ordered a W520 with an i7-2820QM 8MB L3. It comes with 8GB (2 x 4GB) of 1333MHz DDR3 RAM, (Samsung?) I have 16GB (4 x 4GB) of Kingston Hyper-X 1600MHz DDR3 RAM on hand and am wondering if any W520 owners/users have had any experience with this ram. So far, I've read comment from two individuals and they both appear to be having no problems. Hopefully, I can then put the 8GB of 1333MHz into my daughter's MacBook Pro. Thank you for your anticipated assistance.

Thanks for the replies. I really do appreciate them. I was getting somewhat discouraged because, despite reading some really good mainstream reviews of the W520, I'm also reading so many negative issues re. the W520 on the Lenovo related forums. I had also spec'd out an Alienware M14x with a i7-2860QM 8MB L3 and 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 for not much more than I paid for this W520 but chose the W520 base on based on brand loyalty.
This is my mid-life toy. I really don't need all the processing power I've ordered but I wanted it anyway. I'm not much of a gamer, however, I do like flight simulator software. I suppose the best analogy would be buying that Porsche knowing full well that the speed limit is 55 m.p.h. I chose the ThinkPad brand because I had inherited an IBM R51 that soldiers on to this day while many of my friends' and co-workers' Dells, HP's, etc. have given them problems &/or gone to laptop heaven. I had to chuckle when they would get the BSOD on their machines and ask to borrow mine so they could bang out a quick memo on Word 2002 running under XP SP3. I'll still use the R51 as a road warrior on vacation or quick getaways but I wanted the best machine I get for approx. $2,500 for my "shack" laptop. I'm an amateur radio operator and will also be running rig (transceiver) control as well as antenna modeling software.
Again, my thanks for hearing me out and reassuring me re. the Hyper-X RAM. I'm no longer in corporate IT (I'm an ex-Senior Programmer Analyst for an Investor Communication Services company.) and am now in the family business. (3rd generation law enforcement officer) Our "IT Unit" guys walk around with Panasonic Toughbooks that have i3 processors with 2GB RAM but cost over $3K! The price of durability, I suppose.

Creative audigy 2 (SB0400) + windows 7 x64 compatability issue.

Hell everyone, I am experiencing an issue with my sound card " the creative audigy 2 (SB0400) model " . I am running running windows 7 x64 bit with all latest security patches and updated drivers where available. However, when using the provided drivers from windows update (WDM), I experience a pause when listening to any type of music files ie: mp3,flac,ogg just to name a few and when playback on several media players, it freezes the sound + mediaplayer for a minute or two, then it will play onward. Also when not playing any media files, I have noticed a crackel pop every so often from my speakers, which can be annoying as well.
Now, I have uninstalled the drivers provided by windows 7 update via " Start button > Computer > Manage " and selected Device Manager Then Sound , Video and Game Controllers and Right clicking on Creative SB Audigy 2 (wdm)? and choosing uninstall making sure the box is checked to also "Delete the driver software for this device" And did a reboot afterwards. After the reboot I have now downloaded the current driver pack from Creative Labs website SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_00. It has installed successfully other than the fact that it has detected a previous driver (by windows updates), which I had " thought " it was deleted by windows 7. Now after i have installed the SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_00 driver, when going to the speaker icon in the windows 7 tray area and selecting sounds I am annoyed by a message box saying: Windows has detected that audio enhancements for the following device are causing problems: Speakers (Createi've SB Audigy 2 (wdm) )? Would you like to disable the Driver Enhancements for this device ?.
First of all, Why would I want to disable the " Driver Enhancements " for my SB0400 card when the card is supported for it. Are these issues be fixed, if so, please point me to the rigth direction for the proper support for my device. ?:angry:
Also, I have been noticeing when playing any type of media file mostly all formats out there the sound will just RANDOMLY stop and freeze.

Bought elements and downloaded. When I attempt to click either the organizer or photo editor option from the they both instantly crash. I have not been able to open the program at all. Attempted to run as admin with no luck. This is a fully authorized and activated copy I purchases from B&H photo and downloaded from their link and activated with adobe serial number.

Anyway to update the people of my issue here's how it shook down ultimately. After 7 days of begging and pleading with your company for someone to support the product I called back the retailer that I purchased the key from and asked them what to do. They told me that they would work through the technical issue with me if they could and if not refund me the purchase price because they STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. Funny concept, huh? When the rep was helping me he looked through your forums and was STUNNED at how many people needed help with issues and your staff and employees were nowhere to be found. We had a good chuckle over the ineptitude and heartless attitude it would take to screw that many people at once. They tried to help me, even though it was in NO WAY their responsibility to do so. We could not resolve the issue so they are issuing me a refund for your companies refusal to stand behind it's product, and leaving it's customers out in the cold with ZERO support. This was without question the worst experience I have ever had with any company, period. And I am forced to get my internet from Time Warner if that gives you any perspective. The lack of support Adobe offers people is borderline criminal. For those of you that the products work immediately they could could probably care less. But for the THOUSANDS on the forums currently that Adobe is leaving out in the cold and letting it's "community" deal with Adobe's problems, I wish you the best of luck. 5 different threads, 7 days of my life, multiple attempts to contact via phone and online chat only to be told "my question doesn't qualify for support". I have a degree in web development and I build custom Pc's on the side for fun, so I would hate to see how someone who isn't "tech savvy" would deal with this company. God forbid. Direct 3d problem with my Geforce FX 5900

It won't run any 3d applications and leaves my $3000 computer with the only purpose of complaining on online forums.
I've tried with the original drivers
I've tried with the updated drivers (45.23)
Here are my system specs:
Pentium 3.0Ghz w/ 800Mhz bus
D865PERL Motherboard
512 PC-3200 Kingston Hyper x RAM
Audigy 2
420w power supply
and the MSI Geforce FX 5900 VTD-128

I uninstalled my old nVidia drivers under Control Panel/ Add/Remove Programs...then I ran Driver Cleaner to clean all old drivers off of my system *see the sticky post at the top of the forum page here*...then I turned of the puter took the old card out, put the new card in, started the puter and installed the latest driver from nVidia's website. Worked like a charm!
Yes and a neat little story behind this mouse....
I bought it cause it was awesome I thought, got home, hooked it up, charged it for a night, used it for a week and then it died...so I figured out that the charger wouldn't charge the batteries from the base so I went and bought a separate charger and a few sets of NIMH batteries. Used it for about a month that way then tried to take it back one day to Best Buy where I bought it from. Yea Best Buy alright heheheheh They told me that I hadn't bought the extended warranty for the device and now I'd have to go back to the mfg to get it replaced...so I called Logitech. Got Tech Support on the phone and the guy made me jump thru hoops and stand on my head and all that fun stuff that we do to try to make it work. Then he said well what's your address? I gave it to him. He said you'll have it in a day or two. I said Have what? He says A whole new mouse. I get this puzzled look on my face...I say So should I ship this back when I get the new one? He say Nah keep the old one and enjoy. So now I have the working charging base that has one of the mice in it charging while I use the other one until the red light flashes to tell me it needs to be charged. Then I just take the other one out of the cradle, put the dead one in, push the button on the base, push the button on the bottom of the charged mouse and voila! I'm back in business. And I can do it even if I'm in a game and it doesn't crash my game!! How's that for a success story when all you usually hear here is negative? heheheheh

Flash player games runs very slow on Windows XP SP3

Hi to all.
I have problems with flash games and some advanced flash applications.
Problems occurs regardless of browser.
My computer is next:
CPU: 2.8GHz hyper thread
RAM: 1.5 GB (3 pieces)
GPU: Nvidia 7600 GS Gigabyte.
When it runs some flash game e.g. Facebook Pet Society, CPU load goes high as 80 to 100 %. It is very annoying thing since I am starting to loose my mind how to solve this.
All other applications are running very good. This means games, 720p HD videos etc etc.
It is not virus problem, since I have installed new fresh system.

X2's 4400+ or 4600+?

Hello all, I am in the midst of upgrading my processor over to one of the new X2's. I have been looking into the 4400+(Toledo) and 4600+(Manchester).
The 4400+ has 1MB of cache x 2 = 2MB total (1MB on each core)
The 4600+ has 512KB of cache x 2 = 1MB (512KB on each core)
Overall, I am leaning more towards the 4400+ due to the cache differential. I built my RIG with gaming in mind about two months ago and would like to get recommendations/suggestions, as to which one of these 2 processors would be the best buy overall??? (Gaming/video editing)

Update: X2 4400+ installed and running, initial SiSandra Drystone/Whetstone benchmarking has both columns pegged to the limits. Closest competitor on these 2 benchies is the 3.4GHz P4...and the 4400+ has about a 75% advantage over the pennie! I have messed around with multi-tasking....loading anti-virus programs, playing a DVD, and defragging one of the hard drives at the same time....it is simply amazing that doing this does not have much of an effect on processing speed. I must say that the X64 Edition of Windows has a large impact on this also.
The 4 sticks of 512MB Kingston Hyper-X RAM works flawlessly in this particular system. All memory settings are stock, and I have the CPU slightly overclocked by 0.5 GHz. Have not been able to find an X64 Edition-compatible 3DMark benchmark tool, so I'll be working on that when it becomes available. Oh yes...the PC Power and Cooling Turbo-Cool 510 SLI is a "tank"...an awesome piece of equipment.
See System 2 in my sig..it's almost like system 1.
I highly recommend this processor for those who don't want to spend a grand on the X2 4800, but want the second best!!!!

My HP freezes at the HP startup screen.

Okay, so recently I ran windows mandatory updates and allowed my computer to download them and such. However, upon resetting my computer for the downloads to take affect, my computer froze at the HP logo screen and it won't go any further than that. I'll list below the troubleshooting steps I've already taken to attempt to solve this problem.
-I tried going into bios, but because it freezes at the start-up screen, I'm unable to access bios. I also noted that all of my USB drives are now unresponsive.
-I tried running the computer without the hard drive connected to it.
-I tried running the computer without the memory cards slots connected to it.
-I replaced the CMOS battery on the motherboard
-I manually tested all of my ram sticks to see if one of them was corrupted
-I also manually tested all of the ram ports to see if something was wrong there
-I tried resetting my bios by using the pins on the mother board and moving around the jumpers.
-I tried running a boot disk as well as an operating system disk, but neither of them seem to read because they just freeze at the HP start up screen.
-I also tried a USB with an operating system ISO to see if it would boot from that but it doesn't seem to respond to that either.
-I tried booting without the hard disk drive also
I'm honestly not really sure what I should do anymore. I was on the phone with microsoft for 2 hours last night and they concluded that they haven't the slightest idea what's wrong with it.
My computer:

6 GB ram default + 8GB hyper X ram stick
1 tb HD
radeon 6670 graphics card
intel i5 quad core

Lollogan1019, welcome to the forum.
This is the problem with installing more than one driver at a time. It is difficult to know which driver or software update is causing the problem. For this reason, I normally install them one at a time.
Here is a guide that will help you find out which updates were installed. If you look at the video link, you will see in the upper left corner under "Control Panel Home" where it says "View installed updates". You can then uninstall the the latest ones that were installed one at a time to see if that solves your problem.

Gaming issues with K7N2G

K This is weird to me I think I might already know the root of the problem but looking for some verification from you all.
I have a new system using
K7N2G
AMD 2400+
ATI Radeon 9700 PRO
1gb Kingston Hyper X Ram
Pioneer DVD-Rom and Plextor CD-RW
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
Seagate 40 GB 7200 RPM 2mb cache drive
Western Digital Special Edition 40GB 7200 RPM 8mb cache drive
OS is installed on on WD and just use the Seagate for backups.
System is really really fast however, whenever I play games I keep getting these weird hanging moments when loading things and every game I have loaded and played crashes, installed everthing from Red Alert2 to MOHAA. I can play for awhile but it doens't seem to last longer than about 30 min or so. My guess is that there is an issue with having the 2 drives on the same IDE channel. Not sure what difference that would make but that's my guess.
Any thoughts?

This is a RAM incompatibility issue. I recently went through almost the same problem. All you can do is use different ram. I went with Kingston Value RAM. I have the K7N2G-ILSR. I had to update bios to 1.3 to fix compatibility. I tried the board with Samsung, Corsair, and Crucial. The Samsung would not work, but both Corsair and Crucial work well. Good Luck.

MSI twin frozr 4 GTX 670 fan problem

Hello
Just notice that only one fan on my GPU is spinning up.
I did notice my temps were getting a bit high under load, then I noticed the card was on running the one fan.
Does this sometimes happen or should both fans be on at the same time?

Latest update. I rma'd the card. It was sent back fault not found, both fans working.
I installed the card back into my system and only the one fan is working. I tried all four pci-e slots and still only one fan works.
I don't think it has anything to do with the motherboard as i installed my gtx 570 twin frozr 3 and both fans are working
I have all latest drivers for the card and chipset installed
I have no clue now, thanks for any advice

K7N2 Delta Issue

I just recieved my new K7N2 Delta MB. My issue is that I keep locking up during the boot process.
I get into the CMOS setup and as I change some settings I get locked up.
I let it run through the boot process and it locks up at random times.
I have zero clue as to what may cause this issue.
My setup looks like this...
Athlon XP 2100
2x512 pc2700 centron memory
GeForce FX 5600 256mb
200 gig HDD conected to the Ultra ATA contoller in my PCI slot.

I have built alot of systems and i can tell you that this board is ram sensitive. I tried initially to install a stick of Geil 3200 with the copp :O er heat spreaders(i forget the xact model) and i got the woefull long single beep code. I would hit reset button and it would allow me to boot, sometimes. To check the memory i installed on an older 1st generation Nforce board and it works without a hitch. I then installed a couple of sticks of PC2100 256 into the dual channel setup, two different brands, no problems. I just ordered a stick of PC 3200 hyper X ram and prayerfully it will work, i do believe it is NF2 approved. I will follow up.

Cool N Quiet still not working

Athlon 64 3000 (and standard cooler)

1x512Mb Corsair XMS3200LLPT
2xSamsung SP0812C 80Gb SATA (connected to promise controller)
Zalman 400W PSU
Samsung SM552-B DVD/CR-RW
Windows XP + SP1
I've upgraded the BIOS to 1.1 and activated the cool n quiet mode. I've also downloaded the AMD driver (1.1.0.0) and installed that.
The CPU still runs at full speed. Have I missed something, or is it just pot luck whether this works or not?
Any help would be appreciated.

I just flashed to 1.2 and stilll no CnQ.
From other posts I'm wondering if the problem is related to one or both of:
Win2K + Athlon 64 3000+. That's what I have and others with trouble seem to
have the same. I tried reloading the AMD drivers, removing CoreCenter
and the only thing that works ever is the fan speed control. I never get the
extra folder in power options under control panel. Maybe since the Win2K
AMD driver is so old it doesnt detect the cPU properly and therfore doesnt start up?
I may still switch the CPU fan over to the Zalman CuAl since the retail AMD fan has a loud hum at 2500-3000RPM. But the reduced wattage and heat is worth trying to get if possible.
I already ordered more RAM and WinXP Pro from newegg so I guess I can see
if its the OS level/AMD drivers also fix the problem.
Overall I'm happy with the board. Its stable under Linux (RH 9.0) and Win2K under prime95 tests for hours. Haven't had time to try day long tests. Certainly stable under hours of BF1942.
For those of you hyper about RAM settings checkout the Ace' s hardware test.
I'm a bit suprised that it matters so little for the Athlon 64 but it's nice to hear.
Though I'm always amazed at people paying huge sums for better RAM for meager performance improvements- especially on real world programs and games.

AMD64 versions of RH Fedora Yarrow test failed to detect I had a graphics card.
Wierd since /proc seems fine. Anyone have a favorite AMD64 linux distro that works well installed from CDROM or ftp? I may just wait- little to gain at the moment suffering through beta quality software/OS.
