Hyperlink in the bursted email output

Hi All,
My requirement is to burst a report and email the output. But in the email output, i want to provide users the a link ( or it could be any other word) which says "Please click on this _link_ to see the output" and that link should take users to diff URL depending upon the region ...so for example ....
for EMEA users who would get the mails, when the users will click on this link ...it should take them to let say www.google.com
and for APJ users who would get the mails, when the users will click on this link ...it should take them to let say www.oracle.com
i am open to include a column in the database which will contain www.google.com / oracle.com ( not sure if that's required) Or create a new table if required in the DB
Is it possible to acheieve in BIP ? Please let me know.

Thanks for the reply, but I when i put this complete code in a single formfield , it doesn't fit in ...i mean the code is lengthy and when i put this in the form field text box, it automatically truncates it ? how to resolve this ?

Got the exact same problem after updating! I tried it with Lion, too, and it does not work either. Seems like Apple removed it from either Safari or the PDF Maker. That was ONE big advantage over Windows users and now it's gone????????

Hyperlinks in Outlook 2010 emails do not open browser

I have 2 PCs with nearly identical software configurations except for the OS.
One PC uses Windows 7 Ultimate x64, the other uses Windows 7 Home Premium x64.
Both have Office Professional Plus 2010 and Norton Security Suite 4 installed.
Both PCs have all available updates installed.
My problem is with hyperlinks contained in emals received into Outlook 2010.
On the Ultimate system, the hyperlinks work properly, that is, clicking a hyperlink opens a browser window, as expected.
On the Home Premium system, the hyperlinks don't work at all correctly.
The first time any hyperlink is clicked, a message box titled "Windows" pops up with the following content:
Windows can't open this file.

To open this file, Windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it.
Windows can go online to look it up automatically or you can manually select from a list of programs that are installed on your computer.
What do you want to do?
The first option button is labeled "Use the web service to find the correct program."
The second option button is labeled "Select a program from a list of installed programs."
If I select the first option, nothing appears to happen.
If I select the second, I get a pop up with a list of apps. I select Internet Explorer. check the box labeled "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file", click OK and the browser opens.
However, if I go back to the same email and click the same hyperlink during the Outlook session, a window pops up asking me to confirm that I want to open the link using IE.
If I click on any other hyperlink, in the same email or any other email, I get the first pop up "Windows needs to know what program..."
I didn't see any Outlook settings that would affect this behavior.
Any clues about what needs to be done to fix this very annoying behavior?

First, please check if you can open other URL in the email, such as
http://www.microsoft.com.
Based on the current situation, the file should be played by Media Player. Now let’s try to set Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player as the default program:

Tools > Internet Options.

Click the
Programs tab, under Internet programs, click the
Set Programs button.

Click
Set your default program.
4.
Click on
Internet Explorer, click Set this program as default, and click the

Reboot the computer and check the results again.

Try checking the hyperlink for the image in MS Outlook.
Select image in signature, then click "Insert Hyperlink" image to the far right of Edit signature toolbar.
Click "Target Frame" button.
Select "New Window", then "OK".
After doing this, it solved my problem.

I tried to add the multiple hyperlinks on the text and images in the illustrator by using the attribute panel but the links are not working in the published PDF.

Is it be possible to have a hyperlink in the email notification that goes to the approver ( for a leave ) so that the approver can click on the link and be taken straight to the ESS/ MSS portal to approve/reject the leave request?

Basically you can modify the standard task too. Of course it is not recommended, but maybe it is not that bad, if you only need to modify the work item text (and the variables are already available in the container, so you don't need to do any additional bidnings and container elements (or do you?)).
Other options is that you take a copy of TS12300097 and a copy of the leave request worfklow template, and then do the changes to these copies. Then you just need to remember to also check the SPRO settings, that your copy of workflow is started instead of the standard workflow.

Creating a mailto: hyperlink when the email has a dot before the at ( @) sign

Hello,
I have a FM 7.2 document that includes an email with a dot in the first part:
[email protected]
When I distill the file and afterwards create the PDF the result is that the mailto includes only the part of the name that is after the dot [[email protected]] --what can I do to fix this? I have to be sure that I'm getting working email hyperlinks in the PDF of the email address in its entirety.
If it matters any, the OS is XP Pro.

Here is my guess: The "message URL mailto:[email protected]" hypertext marker is either not present in your FM file or is not processed by FrameMaker (which could happen if the syntax is incorrect, the marker type is not hypertext or Acrobat Data is turned off). And you are using Acrobat or Reader 7 to display the PDF.
Starting with Acrobat and Reader 7, there is a preference of "Automatically detect URLs from text" (Edit > Preferences, General; in version 8 it's called "Create Links from URLs"). When this is enabled (default), e-mail and web addresses present in the text are interpreted as links when the PDF is displayed (without any links defined in the authoring program). Acrobat 7.x interpretation of e-mail addresses is incorrect -- the presence of a dot, an underscores or a hyphen disturbs the address (so, as in your case, [email protected] is interpreted as [email protected]).
This was fixed in Acrobat/Reader 8, so if you display the same PDF in that environment the interpreted link will be OK. Nevertheless, I recommend adding/checking the hypertext link in FrameMaker, so that a "real" e-mail link will work as expected with all versions of Acrobat/Reader.

XML Report - Bursting Email

I am new to Oracle bursting, As per the requirement i need to send a email through XML publisher bursting (email will be having attachment of report output in excel format), Following error message i am getting while running bursting program, XML Publisher Report Bursting Program. Bursting program how to add if conditions in the bursting xml

We use xml publisher bursting to send the po prints to vendors .
We converted the oracle report and create a template and bursting file to now send the pdf po print to vendors .
In some cases where the vendor site delivery method is not set to EMAIL and it is null or EDI we wanted to send the po print to requestor ..
We can get the email address of vendor site in Deliver_TO_EMAIL field and requestor email in Requestor_email fields and delivery method in DELIVERY_METHOD field
How to write a logic in the Bursting xml like

use requestor_email as email
change the body of the email
if
delivery_method is email then
user the email as del_email_address
body of the email will address to vendor.

No Attachment in Bursting email

Hi, I am practicing the bursting functionality of BIP. So far I've got it work with "File" and "Email". I used SQL query to retrieve Delivery Data from a temporary database table which contains values for bursting criteria such as "delivery channel" , "output format". Once I kick-off the scheduled job, it actually sent PDF files to my designated folder for two sets of data and emails to my inbox for another two sets of data. However, I couldn't see any attachment which should contain the content of my report with my email. Does anyone have any idea of this? Thanks a lot.

I am assuming, you are using bursting from Enterprise Release. First try file delivery. If it works fine, then make sure you set the delivery SQL setting properly. You can validate from the following mapping.

XML Bursting, Email attachment is blank

I have report which as a part of my requirement need to send it to customers, I am using XML bursting logic to send it through email. It was working fine until last week and now it is sending emails succesfully with attachment as blank. below are the lines from log.

I seem to vaguely remember we had this problem with our bursting file for out POs.... It turned out to be a parm in the bursting file. I am sorry but I am not positive which one it was but I think it was the content-type parm. Anyway, our final file looks like the below xml so if you compare it to what you have now it may assist:

I am developing a xml publisher report with bursting functionality, i need to set a email body based on some condition, so please help me out how i can set the email body dynamically in xml bursting file.
Note:The email body may be huge. for ex:

logo's should be pulling are the logo's directly embedded in format template?
Suggest you download and use the [Bursting Designer|http://bipublisher.blogspot.com/2009/09/bi-publisher-bursting-designer.html] and review the log file for errors. You will need to change your templates to point locally on your pc.

Idoc Def :Standard SAP format for electronic data interchange between systems (Intermediate Document). Different message types (such as delivery confirmations or purchase orders) normally represent different specific formats, the IDoc types. However, multiple message types with related content can be assigned to one IDoc type: For example, the IDoc type ORDERS01 transfers the "logical" message types ORDERS (purchase order) and ORDRSP (order confirmation).
Idocs are of two types basic type and the extension type .we need to configure the system settings for this process .
IDOC (Intermediate Document) - A data holder.
IDOC is divided in to three parts.
Control Record
Data Record
Status Record
Control record (Table: EDIDC):
- Every IDOC has only one Control Record
- Each Control Record contains header information like:
o IDOC Number
o Direction of IDOC: Inbound or Outbound
o Date and Time of creation of IDOC
o Date and time when the IDOC was last modified.
o Message Type of IDOC
o IDOC type and extension of IDOC
o Sender and Receiver Partner
Data record (Table: EDID4):
- Data Record contains Data to be processed.
- Every IDOC has one data record with multiple segments in hierarchy.
- Segments and Hierarchy of Segments are defined by IDOC Type and Extension.
- IDOC created has to strictly follow the hierarchy; else IDOC fails with Syntax error.
- Segments which are repetitive have qualifiers attached to it
Status record (Table: EDIDS):
- Status Record describes the status of IDOC.
- Each IDOC contains one status Record with multiple status information.
- Status at each level is appended to IDOC. E.g. When IDOC is created in SAP, Status is This IDoc has been generated through a test transaction, When the IDOC is added to system it is IDOC added, IDOC ready to be transferred to Application
- Status should always be read bottom-up. Status at the top is the latest status.
- Some Example of Status Records:
o Inbound:
§ 53 - IDOC successfully posted
§ 51 IDOC Failed
§ 64 - IDOC ready to be transferred to Application

- Mandatory Segment: If checked, this segment should always exist in the IDOC.
- Minimum Number:
- Maximum Number: Maximum number of times this segment can be repeated in IDOC. -
Parent Segment: Parent of this segment
- Hierarchy level: Level of hierarchy.
Segment Definition (WE31):
Messsage Type: Defines the type of data in the IDOC
o Transaction Code:
§ WE81 To create, change or display the Message type and the extension.
§ WE82 Using this transaction you can link Message Type, IDOC Type, IDOC Extension and version.
- Message type identifies the type of data IDOC holds. E.g. Orders (ORDERS), Delivery (DESADV), Invoice (INVOICE). It also defines what needs to be done with the data in the IDOC, in case of Inbound IDOC, and which data to be extracted in case of Outbound IDOC.
- Message Type is linked to a process code, which in turn is linked to a Function Module. This function module extracts from or posts data to SAP depending on direction of IDOC.
- Relation between Message Type, IDOC type and IDOC extension needs to define. Without this relation Message type or IDOC type cannot be used.
Message Type Create, Change or Display (WE81):
Setup link between Message Type, IDOC Type, IDOC Extension and Version (WE82)
Process Code: Function Module is linked to a process code. This function module in executed for inbound or outbound IDOC.
o Transaction Codes:
§ WE41 Outbound Process Code
§ WE42 Inbound Process Code
- Process codes are linked to a Function Module.
- Relationship is Message Type is linked to a Process Code which is linked to a Function Module.
- In case if you are using a stand alone code to trigger an IDOC, you need not define a process code.
RFC Destination: System definition of destination.
o Transaction Code: SM59
- RFC destination identifies the destination of IDOC.
- In case of ALE:
o In ALE the communication mode is IDOC to IDOC, hence the type used is R/3 Connections.
o It is the destination SAP system which will receive the IDOC.
o In RFC destination you define the destination SAP system details like System, Login and Password.

How to add a drill down feature in the Adobe form output

Hi,
I am new to adobe forms.I have a requirement where in i need to develop a form which will have diffeerent rows in the output.
if the user is accessing the form using SAP GUI i need to provide a hyperlink on the row which will have a drill down feature further to have the details on the row in a tabular form.Please help me on this.Thanks in advance.
