Hyperlinks in system emails

I have been unable to create an actual hyperlink for the {tag_passwordresetlink}, or others like it. Is there a way to do this being that the actual link is not available until the message is sent out?

Firstly, ensure the format of your system email is set to HTML: http://screencast.com/t/aAocMatkaZqh. Secondly, try wrapping the tag within HTML, e.g.: <a href="{tag_passwordResetLink}">Reset Password</a>.

Systems Emails - Invoice tags Shipping vs Billing

This may seem like a silly question, but I'm a bit confused on the tags for the Systems Emails - Invoice.html.
I want to have two columns render for the invoice:
Column#1:
Bill To:
{tag_ordername}
{tag_addressbilling}
{tag_phonecell}
{tag_recipientaddress}
Bill To: (here's the info I want to show)
Billing Party's First, Last Name
Billing Party's Address
Billing Party's City, State, Zip
Billing Party's Phone
Billing Party's Email Address
Column#2:
Ship To:

{tag_addressshipping}
{tag_shippinginstructions}
Ship To: (here's the info I want to show)

It's confusing bc the recipient to me would be the person being shipped to not the person making the order. Can anyone clear this up for me please?
Also, on this particular system email, the {tag_orderid} states that it's for quotes only. What would the tag be for a customer ID# or is there one? I need to show the Order# and Customer ID#. I know there are customer case numbers, but why isn't this a tag choice for this system email or am i missing it.

I know that more times than not it will be the biller as the shipper but our items are marketed as gifts so i really need an invoice that clearly states a difference between biller and shipper ... just in case there is a difference.

which is my client's company, right? Then you have

Is "contact/company" the customer?
I really haven't worked with this aspect enough to know the difference.
I just need to know if my tags are correct if I want one column for Bill To and one column Ship To?

System Emails Best Practices

Hi, I need a professional recommendation on what is the best practice when dealing with our customers system emails.
I'm asking this because BC create all the workflows and system emails with the partner details, which I find really ridiculous.
Then you have to go and change all of these emails to the client email. I realised lately that BC have a default email setting for system emails. I changed all these to my client email address, but still I'm receiving inquiry and they are getting my name somehow.
This is very embarassing and I hate to see it happening again. Can someone please help me with what procedures I need to take to avoid this.
As partners do we usually leave ourselves as administrators and receiving every workflow our client receives? What if you have 100 clients?
Shouldnt BC add a "BC Partner" to users? like a super administrator in Joomla instead of being together with other administrator?

Hi Michel,
The system is a framework in terms of site elements, so of course will have default information which you can choose to change or not (such as workflows).
In terms of forms and notification emails:
- Make sure you update forms notifications and emails
- Make sure you update notification emails for mailing lists
- Make sure the mass change for system emails is applied and you choose the correct template if you wish to for each one.
For Workflows:
- System comes with some basic ones and of course you can build your own.
- Normally the thing you will do is modify or add your clients to "users" or their own role such as "busines name admin" for example. You may have multiple users and for them to have multiple roles. Under the new interface permisions control what they see and have access too.
- Workflows are set to you for testing mainly, allowing you to get workflows and email notifications as you develop to see how things are shaping up and are working.
- Go into workflows and change them so that emails / txts / steps go to the right people.
You can find more information if you need to on workflows in the knowledgebase if you not gone through them already.

Adding a hyperlink to the email notification for leave approval

Hi All,
Is it be possible to have a hyperlink in the email notification that goes to the approver ( for a leave ) so that the approver can click on the link and be taken straight to the ESS/ MSS portal to approve/reject the leave request?

Basically you can modify the standard task too. Of course it is not recommended, but maybe it is not that bad, if you only need to modify the work item text (and the variables are already available in the container, so you don't need to do any additional bidnings and container elements (or do you?)).
Other options is that you take a copy of TS12300097 and a copy of the leave request worfklow template, and then do the changes to these copies. Then you just need to remember to also check the SPRO settings, that your copy of workflow is started instead of the standard workflow.

Recently I have lost the ability to access hyperlinks from my email. Need help fixing this issue.

Try quitting Mail and then reset the iPad. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Creatimg hyperlink within an email

How do you turn a site address into a hyperlink in an email?
Power PC G4(3.3) Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Yet hyperlinks sent to my parents' computers (Windows XP using Thunderbird) don't automatically work as hyperlinks. Yes it has the "http://" before it, and I've tried tinyurl in case the URL was split, but no luck. Yet it DOES work if I reply to that same message; somehow the quoting process enables Thunderbird to see it as a genuine hyperlink that is clickable.
Any thoughts how to save my annoyances at having to reply to enable broken hyperlinks?

Mail Delivery System email problems

After (unsuccessfully) bouncing some suspicious emails I now have 37 Mail Delivery System emails which refuse to be deleted no matter what I do. I can delete them and they go to trash but then they appear back in the inbox. For a while these emails were 'empty' as in I could not open them as there was nothing but the email title there but now they have suddenly become readable and they all have the same address which obviously could not be bounced and some have the junk sign next to them which I can't get rid of either. It is very annoying although obviously it does not affect anything other than it looks awful to have 37 emails from the same place. Incidentally I think that there are actually only 2 emails as there are only 2 different time stamps on them and I think that they have multiplied due to me deleting them so often and them reappearing again. Hope this makes sense to someone!

Setting recipient for system emails

When someone subscribes to our newsletter with a bad email address, i receive a system message (from [email protected]) reporting that the system email to the subscriber failed.
I would like to change the recipient of these emails to another one of our system users and cant discover where to set the recipient details.
Can anyone help?

Hi,
It's either the double opt-in email (under system emails) or the auto-responder email (for the campaign list or the webform, depending on what you use). That's the email that the system tries to send "from" your email address to the person that subscribes - this email bounces and you get the system message.
Hope this helps - if you still have problems, I'd recommend opening a new case and attaching one of the emails you get so that support can sort this out for you.

Multilingual invoice in system email

HI, I'm trying hard to implement a french/english website. I have followed the BC implementetion with sub-domain, but I'm now stuck on how to have a multilingual invoice (and gifitvoucher, order etc.). The system email section don't have any option to select a country like in the Module template.
Any one have an idea on how to implement this?

Suddenly I can't open hyperlinks embedded in emails on my iphone 5 ios7

all of a sudden I now receive emails and am unable to open the hyperlinks contained in the emails. You touch the link and then it colours as if activated, the main loading logo comes up briefly and then stops. I've tried deleting and restoring my yahoo account but this has not resolved. Can anyone help?

Me thinks you have tried to connect to a shortcut folder and not a genuine folder.
Note Mac OS X in Mac OS X 10.4 has 3 popular folder shortcut locations:
The leftmost column of the Finder window.
The horizontal toolbar on the top of the Finder window
The translucent bar which can be anchored on the side or bottom of the screen known as the Dock. These are not true folder locations, but only locations for shortcuts. When you click on a folder for a volume that is not mounted, or is a folder which was deleted it will behave in this fashion. Often if you click on it the right fashion, it will change to a question mark.
In addition if it is an alias to an existing folder that has no contents, it will behave this way from the three shortcut locations.
If you right click instead of the left click a folder, it may think you want to do something to the folder which you can't do. Make sure your mouse button functions properly as a Primary button on Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse.
Also make sure Universal Access is not turned on as it too can cause funny behavior in the mouse click actions, in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Universal Access.

The hyperlinks in my email won't work

Hi my mail was working fine, but recently my Hyperlinks stopped working. If I get an email with a link to a website, I can't click on it to make it go to Safari, I only have the option of clicking a little arrow and seeing a preview of it. Why is this happening!?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

How can i create a hyperlink to individual emails?

I would like to be able to create a hyperlink to click through to individualk emails. I plan on creating a simple database in Excel and would like to be able to instantly access individual emails. I have done this in the past with files stored on my harddrive. It's a really useful way of managing thousands of emails.

thanks 'a brody' - i have found MailTags as a 3rd part app which may do the trick. in the past i have resorted to saving pdf print outs of mails to a hard drive and then using a hyperlink to the file. it just doesn't seem very elegant (this solution can be useful where i then share the database with colleagues using the same networked drive).
i can't imagine i'm the only person trying to categorise and track leads - perhaps i need to bite the bullet and source a really good CRM app?

Hyperlink in obiee email reports

Well I have a question on hyperlink in obiee dashboards.
The requirement is to email obiee Report or dashboard with Hyperlink
enabled on date column which opens up PDF from the server for that
date.
End user will not access obiee analytics at all. They will access only their emails.
I have tried creating a sample dashboard and put a link on it for a
webpage. It works well inside when run or viewing a dashboard but link
doesn't work when emailed ,exported. The link doesn't even show on the
report.
Can you tell me if we can implement something like this in obiee to
enable hyperlink or action links when emailed too.

Since user is no access he not able to see the reports, try to give access or else create a common user and use that in the url.

Just append the link(say www.google.com) directly to the messages internal table. It will automatically take it as link.
