i forwarded the port 49500 for my bittorrent client, using with macgamefiles for example, in my osx firewall and my airport admin tool.
49500 … 10.0.1.2 … 49500
my torrent client is running, when i check it at www.canyouseeme.org i get an error: Error: I could not see your service on 85.xx.xxx.xxx on port (49500)
- why?
- which port can i test at www.canyouseeme.org, to see if my powerbook is reachable at all?
- why is my private IP 10.0.1.2, as listet in the airport port forward, cause when i open airport admin tool it shows: 10.0.1.1
- how can i access my airport from browser? (safari)
- what is DMZ? someone told me to do that

in the network prefs, i have this IP: 10.0.1.3
so i change it on the router also..
actually , the funny thing is, that i am not aware at all what i am doing here, i play trial and error, but have no insight....

Sighhhh, wasted so much time yesterday and today going around Sony centre and then carphone warehouse. They told me to come back after Easter.

Another user just has a similar issue tonight and I advised him to go to the below Apple support link to see if the password was recognized there, which eventually resolved his username/passowrd issue. Give it a try and see if it works.

This isn't reference in any of the online support material that I've seen. Do you have a link to support this? Just curious is all.
I had a similar issue on my wife's '09 MBP. Initially I thought it was the battery seeing as it's an older machine, but we tried resetting the SMC (after a bunch of other suggestions) and that seems to have done the trick.

For PDF documents the "archive as" button do not appear but only the "active" button. Please help me?

My "achive as" button do not appear when im trying to save a scanned PDF document but only the "achive" button. Do anyone know why?
I have tried seraching the internet for answer but without any result.
A solution to the prblem is to press doublicate and then "archive" then i get the option to save in a specific loaction (notice that even after doublicating i don't get the option to archvie as). This is a quick fix but would like to know how to fix the problem probably.
Here is some background
-The problem also appears on exsisting pdf document and documents from other users.
- i open it in apple standard preview program
- The problem appaered 6 months ago after and general apple software upgrade.
- I don't have any "download" folder in my finder menu ( I don't know if this is a relevant information but could have somthing to do with the settings i.e. as administor even though it is my own mac).
Please help me before i will go completly CRAZY, it is super frustrating.

If your lock button is broken, the only solution is to get the phone replaced or repaired. There is no way to reset the phone without a functioning lock button.

This is a user to user tech support form, not Apple support. The S/N wouldn't provide any solution regardless.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

VPN ERROR 619 :: A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed

I have been searching endlessly for this issue. Every time I try to connect to a VPN connection I get the error above. Thank you for any relevant input concerning this matter. My NIC is Qualcomm Atheros and I'm in Win8.1 x64.

turn off your antivirus and firewall, update the latest VPN client software, if still not working go to security settings and change the VPN type automatic to PPTP. And also change data encryption configuration to Optional and select CHAP & MS-CHAP v2.
If still not working try with other internet connection and try to contact your VPN provider

I had a pop-up from Mcafee yesterday with option to block a particular access request, today Firefox will not open but shows the message with "try again" -please help.

When defining the Outgoing SMTP Server, why does specifying the "default" SMTP server not work, but only the first server specified?

I have several options for SMTP outgoing server. I set one to default and try to send. it fails and uses the first one in the list.
I restart Thunderbird and try to send. It uses the first one in the list.
I eliminate all SMTP servers from the list but the one I want, and it works.
What am I missing, this I have observed this problem on all of my systems for a long time?

what your missing is that account have an SMTP sever associated with them, which if your "in" an account over rides the "default"
Right click an account folder and select settings.
Click on the account name in the settings and on the right is a drop down list and the "default" smtp for that account.

Ipod 5 has been disabled and i have not synced but know the password. what should i do?

You have to restore and thus erase the iPod. It is a security feature.
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Have you disabled your Windows Firewall?
You should also download and install (free) Filezilla, and see it it works for you.
Always good to have a backup FTP program.
