I am trying to install Camera Raw 6.7 plug in to photoshop CS5 to be able to read my D800 NEF file but I get note "Unable to write at locate '/Users/ds/Library/Application Support/Adobe'. Please provide write permission to this location and try again. Wha
Prior to this, I installed newest version of Adobe App Mgr as suggested by pop up note.
What do I do to provide the write permission to the location?

I have installed Adobe Lightroom CC. In the process of launching, a popup appears, that says: "AN INTERNAL ERROR HAS OCCURRED. Cannot create the required folder: /Users/(my user name)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Develop Presets." So even though Lightroom CC is installed, it will not launch. What do I need to do to allow it to launch?
The problem was solved today. Here's the full story. I'm a Mac user. At first I installed Lightroom CC on my iMac (desktop). I had this problem so I called Adobe, and was referred to a "special unit" . After about an hour the tech solved it for me ... we did a screen sharing and she took control of my computer for a loooong time. Because of language difficulties, at first I wondered if she knew what she was doing but she eventually solved it. Although she couldn't explain exactly what she was doing, she summarized it by saying "it was a permissions problem." I asked if I would have the same issue later when I installed it on my laptop (Macbook Air). She said probably not.
But I did. The same internal error popup arose on launch and launch did not complete on my laptop. I tried chat but no joy so I eventually called Apple Care. I had noticed that on my laptop (and the iMac for that matter), that there was no Library folder after my user name. The Apple tech explained that the Library folder is actually there but it is hidden because it's very easy for users to do some very nasty things to their computer by going astray while in the Library folder. The folder is actually there, but they hide it. I did remember seeing that the tech helping me with my iMac had typed the work "Library" while she was controlling my computer. Basically she had activated the hidden Library folder so she could open the path that Lightroom was trying to follow to create that "Develop Presets" folder. For some reason, the inability to create that folder in the launch process was preventing launch from being completed. The Apple tech said she didn't actually have to do that and activated the Library folder by use of the Go selection on the menu bar. Anyway, once that complete path was replicated and opened, the next step was to go to the Lightroom Permissions field and add my user name to the user categories already there and enable "read and write" permissions to my user name. Once done, I shut down my laptop, and then rebooted. I launched Lightroom and then boom, voila, heavens to betsy, etc. it launched and suddenly a dismal weekend turned into a great one.
I am not a geek, so I hope this makes some sense. I also hope Lightroom launches again tomorrow and beyond! -

I just made the switch to mac. I am have installed all the new PS6 CC and bridge and I am not trying to add some presets to my ACR but when I search for the folder to place them it is not there. From what I researched it says it should be under camera library/application support/adobe/camera raw/settings but I can only get to library/application support/adobe/ and then there are two different camera raw options I have checked both and there are not settings folder. If anyone can help me please thanks

Hi,
I am having issues installing Extension Managger CC. I receive the follwoing error when attempting to install Extension Manager:
Exit Code: 7
Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example, ERROR: DF015 ...
-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
- 0 fatal error(s), 1 error(s)
----------- Payload: Adobe Player for Embedding 3.4 3.4.0.0 {6E6ECFC9-FE3D-4314-B937-7E25A7862899} -----------
ERROR: DF015: Unable to delete symlink "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/APE/3.4/adbeapecore.framework/Libraries"(Seq 4)
I don't know if the permissions on the file (and contents) are correct. I noticed that they were pointing to a user that no longer exists. I manually went in and made the owner and groups point to system, wheel and root and everyone, with all three having R+W access.
Are these the correct permissions? I was thinking of using Adobe CC Cleaner but I didn't see anything that mentioned Extension Manager. What would the APE 3.4 be called?
What yould you recommend?
Thanks,
RockyMoving this discussion to the Creative Cloud Download & Install forum.
Rocky you are correct to determine this is a file permission failure which is causing the error. Please see Error "Exit 6" or "Exit 7" | Install log | Read, write, system file errors | CS5, CS5.5 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-exit-6-exit-7.html for information on how to adjust the file permissions.
If you continue to fail with this update you may want to try applying the update in either a Root user account or a new administrator account to see if the same failure occurs. -
Could not create ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync
On my MacBook Pro, I'm using Chrome as my web browser, and I wanted to try Adobe Photoshop CC with a free trail, but first I have to I download Creative Cloud. And I did, successfully, but when I go to install a free trail of Photoshop CC, I cannot and this comes up...
So I did as it says and uninstalled Creative Cloud and re-downloaded it, and I still get the same message and this message too...
So I Google searched this message and a solution for it, and I found some forums on the Adobe discussion/question page, and found that the solution was to:
I did this process, and everything was going smooth, except for I have no "CoreSync" folder...the only folders that come up after I search in my Finder "Library/Application Support/Adobe" are Lightroom and OOBEE.
NOTE: I'm not sure that OOBEE is the exact name, I tried following other forum steps and one of them was to change the name to "OOBEE.OLD", but this didn't work so I just changed it back to what I think is the original name.
Could I please have some help...I've been at this for along time and it's really ticking me off...all I want to do is download the free trail of Photoshop CC. I would really appreciate some help.
Thanks,
NickI had exactly the same issue which is preventing Adobe Creative Cloud to download. The message "could not create..." is appearing and in the Apps area in Creative Cloud is written "Download Error" and I should reinstall it. I tried it several times with no success. Also the permissions for the folders are allright (created root and checked permissions like described in above link).
I now found this
install error on Mac "could not create ~/library/application support/adobe/coresync"
After creating another admin user I could install it with that one. Hope this helps. -
Suddenly get this message and Photoshop won't function
Fatal error missing component
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS4/Client/4.0.0/VersionCue.framework
Onv CS4 is old but it was working. I bought it online legitimately.
I don't think I have the discs
How can I reinstall the software at no additional cost?
MikeHi there! Because the forum you originally posted in is for beginners trying to learn the basics of Photoshop, I moved your question to the Photoshop General Discussion forum, where you'll get more specialized help.
To help others help you, please read through this article and provide any additional relevant details. -
Why is there no plug-ins folder in my Library/Application Support/Adobe/ folder?
As with many other users, the "Open in Camera Raw" option is grayed out in Bridge CS6.
I downloaded the suggested plug-in and tried to follow the path: Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS6/File Formats folder
But there's no Plug-Ins folder under Library/Application Support/Adobe.
I'm going to the Library folder that comes up when I click Go while holding down Option.
Am I doing something wrong?Okay, I went to Home and then ~/Library and clicked Shift+Command+G -- and there's till no Plug-Ins folder under Library/Application Support/Adobe.
-
Where is the library with Library/Application Support/Adobe?
PhotoShop Preferences / Additional Plug-Ins gives this path: Mcintosh HD: Library: Application Support: Adobe: Plug-Ins: CS6: File Formats.
But I can't access this library in any of the ways suggested: neither Option-clicking on Go nor ~/Library take me to that library.
Where is it?You want the global /Library folder, not the user ~/Library folder. Leave out the ~
-
could not create~/library/application support/adobe/coresync
Try below steps
Click on Finder and then hold Command + Shift + G keys on your keypad
It will open Go to folder window, type exactly ~/Library and click on Go. Make sure to include ~
Then open Application Support
Right click on Adobe folder
Click on get info
Click on symbol and Add Administrator and your current user name ( if not added )
Then give read and write permission to user name and admin
Then click on Gear icon and select 'Apply to Enclosed
Then check if you are getting same error again -

Error U44M2P24 when trying to install Camera Raw 6.7
I'm trying to install Camera Raw 6.7 in OS X Lion 10.7.3 and keep getting error message U44M2P24 stating that the installation failed. I've tried re-downloading the installer and trying again after a restart, but it still doesn't work.
Have you tried to download and install directly from Adobe, instead of using the Updater in PS?

After updating to 10.9.2 the Finder changed and I feel something is hiding - for example, I no longer seem to be able to "GET INFO" about my hardrive... only my drive and "my documents" etc... maybe this has something to do with not being able to find this folder: Mac OS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC Extensions
Jeff... Yes. I meant to mark this solved - found another thread recommending using FINDER-GO TO- and /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC Extensions.
It worked easy.
That little bit of info would be a great addition to that install AOM instructions.
Thank you for asking! -
