I recently bought a new iMac and am giving my old iMac to my brother. I read up on how to erase my information before handing it over to my brother but they process included having my installation disk. I do not have that disk. I need to erase my information and upgrade the computer.

You can call Apple Customer Support, give them the serial number of the unit and pay $16 per disk to get new copies. But they may not re-burn Tiger anymore.
If that is the case, you have to consider buying Tiger disks from an online store, or move up in the cat family.
Leopard disks only require PPC processors, and run $180 or so. Apple *may* have some Leopard in stock if you call them. Else you go online.
If the sysem has Intel processor, you can jump up to Snow Leopard, which is $29 in the Apple Online Store.

Go to iTunes > about iTunes. What version are you running? If necessary, hold down the option key while starting iTunes and create a new, test library so it will start.

Bought a new computer and want to recover old iTunes?

Our old computer we had blew its power supply, so we bought a new one. We have a Free Agent Go Flex Drive that saved all our old files on it, and I wanted to recover my old iTunes program as is. I am a statistician, and one of my projects I was hired to do was to tabulate a study on the "Times Played" section of an iTunes library. All I want to do is load the old iTunes onto my new computer from the drive, so that I have my library and statistical data intact. I tried loading the old iTunes, but it said I couldn't because "iTunes Library can not be opened because it was created by a newer version of iTunes". Is there any way I can just use the newer version of iTunes my computer downloaded to run my old library as it was, meaning with all my songs added with the correct number of "Times Played" values and all the other specifics?

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

According to icloud support documentation icloud keeps last three backups. As long as you only backed up new phone once - you should be ok. Erase your new phone by going to settings -general- reset- erase content and settings and start restore over. Wait till you see available backups and carefully pick one you need. Give it plenty of time, restore visibly takes a short time, but it is not real - I d advise to restore overnight.

You have to start by erasing your phone. If you have any newer data on your phone that is not contained in the backup you'll need to save that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts, choosing the backup of your old phone to restore from.
Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

I have since bought a new computer and when i log into my itunes account my music is not there. it is under my phone name but if i try and edit the playlist or create a cd off of my music list nothing happens. How do i get my music list back onto my main itunes page where i can edit it and create cds off of it. i have new songs that i have purchased on my phone that that if i sync my phone it will erase them. I bought a new imac running Loin and Office 2011. The server we use to access emails runs exchange 2003 and my IT person says the imac is not compatible with the server. The server does not want to let me access using any email software.

It looks as though 2011 is not compatible with 2003 per some searches online, but what are some options I have to gain full access again? I purchased parallels in hopes that this my help and I am able to use remote desktop connection to log on to server but can not drag and drop files I need. There is a shared drive on that Server we all use to exchange files.
The two main issues are gaining access to my email again and ability to drag and drop files from mac to pc. I hope this is enough info to get some solutions.
PS - IT person says my iMac's IP is what his server does not understand so that is why I can not login.

Office 2011 is not compatbile with Exchange 2003.

I recently bought a new iMac as well as a wireless time capsule and have it connected how can I use this external drive as the location to store all my files for iTunes, or is this even possible?

New iMac user here, I recently bought a new iMac and Time capsule and have the whole network up and running now. I have connected another external HD to the time capsule as well and have a total of 3 TB of storage connected wireless to my new iMac. My question is can I use this location as the default location for iTunes? I doubt I am gonna run out of room considering the iMac has 1 TB of storage already, but I'd prefer to keep my movies and music off the Mac to keep it running smoothly. If this is possibly, I'd like to do this with iPhoto as well.

I would advise against placing your iTunes library on a Time Capsule.
The Time Capsule is designed as a backup device and not for wireless streaming of video.
Before you do anything more, can I suggest you put into place a reliable, redundant backup strategy.
Unless you are prepared to risk loss of your iTunes library due to a hard drive failure, I would not put iTunes on the Time Capsule.
Leave your iTunes library on your iMac until such time as your internal drive is full. Backup to Time Capsule using Time Machine and create a clone of your internal iMac HD to your external drive.
That's my 2 cents worth. Others may have a different opinion.
