I can't sync my iPod to my computer it says that the Apple Mobile Device is not started and I tried everything, what can I do to get it back to normal so I can use it like I used to?

You must be running Windows. AMD is a service that needs to be running in order to sync your phone. You need to start it as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567.

Just updated to the latest version of itunes and now my iphone won't sync with my email or calender because the apple mobile device is not started. Anyone know any way roudn this - Apple wish to charge me to fix this. not impressed

It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.
