I Can't Update Twitter App Because it's linked to someone I have never met
I can't update the official Twitter account. For some reason the Twitter app is connected to someone else's Apple ID – someone I have never met nor do I have any mutual friends with (according to fb). Whenever I try and update Twitter it asks me to sign into his account and I can't update it with my account. I haveeven deleted Twitter and tried to reinstall it using my Apple ID. When I do so his email address is automatically filled in (with every other app mine is automatically filled in) – so I filled in my Apple ID info but I get an "Unknown Error" and then "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (4)"

But from what I've seen the only solution is to re-index my computer with spotlight. I have done so but that doesn't work.
I just want to be able to update Twitter. Help?
Hi Brian...
No guarantees, but try deleting the cache and cookies associated with the App Store.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac.
Deleting cookies may also help.
Go to ~/Library/Cookies. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
See if you can update Twitter.

Had to change my id because of glitch. Now I can't update any apps because it keeps asking for my old id password.
I had one App to update, alleways whene i tryd to do so the App told me that the App was buyed with a different ID and the Update stopped.
Untill last night whene a finaly was able to update the App.
I only changed the Pasword so i thougt it may be the problem.

did your purchased that apps using that email address or apple id? if the answer is yes, you need to contact iTunes to re-enable your apple id.

I made this account awhile ago, but I just foud some apps I had purchased on my computer so I downloaded them onto my iPad, but they need to be updated and it asks for my prior account information which I do not know. I tried to send a recovery email, but I never recieved it. How can I update my apps or get my password?

Since a few days, I can't update my apps anymore via apps update. I am getting a message that says: you cannot update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software'. What is going on? BTW - I can update by going to the App Store, searching for the app, which is listed as ready for an update, and then clicking....

1st attempt was a failure. All apps that didn't update on phone (ex. Acrobat Reader, Evernote, Google Drive etc) didn't update on my mac's itune store. same message and an additional one with try later error 100.
unrelated, (?!)
wrote to apple support indicating the problem (20-25 mins ago). no response yet, just confirmation email.
i changed my password (appleid), changed secondary email.
went ahead and logged-in again with new credentials across all devices, suprise - all apps downloaded fine.
glitch in the matrix?! -
I am trying to upgrade to OS X Mavericks but when I click on download, nothing happens. It shows as purchased but nothing is happening. I have the MacBook Pro Late 2011 model. I am unable to load any new apps because it says that I don't have the latest OS version. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate it! Thanks

It wiped my Mac's hard drive totally clean!
A technician here was able to reload the original OS but all my pictures, files and contacts were
sent God knows where !
I should have done a back up, so I learned my lesson the hard way !
What really annoyed me was that this is an Apple program, so I wrongly assumed it would be a safe download.

He told me that others in our small town had experienced the same problem, and since we live in a small community of about 6000, I wonder how many others have had this problem in more populated centers ?
Everything is thankfully up and running again ( at great expense in time and money ) but I will exercise more jurisprudence in future offers for any upgrades! -
As it says, I got a Mac Book Pro from my company and I would like to update the apps on it. They are registered to a former employee's Apple ID, is there anyway for me to change it to my Apple ID? Or do all of the Apps need to be re-purchased?

You must repurchase the applications because you can't transfer programs from an Apple ID to another one -
I Tried to make an in-app purchas but I believe the transaction failed because there is no money in my payment option, but I do not want to fix the transaction. Since 8.3 iOS update my iPad keeps asking my old iTunes password for an account I've disabled as my e-mail got hacked. As a result I can't update any of my apps ( I'm missing out on hay day)
Any content is tied to the account that you used to buy/download it - so if you created a new account as opposed to updating the existing one, then you will need to use the old account to download updates to its apps. Can you not update your old account so as to have a new email address on it (e.g. via this page) ?

My ipad won't download any apps or make any purchases. Someone help because this is ridiculously stupid. If any Apple people see this then tell the company to patch this because this is extremely annoying, especially with post-halloween updates and new music coming out.
Log out of the iTunes Store on your device:
Settings>iTunes & App Store...tap your Apple ID, then select "Sign Out"
Reset your device:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
After the device has restarted, sign back in to the App Store as above. Try to download the apps again. -
