To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?

Last but not least, for the site that has the problem:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Clear Firefox's Cache
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can open the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Problems accessing my Hotmail account

I can't access my Hotmail account. It's weird because I use the Safari normally and I have no trouble accessing any other website. Since Hotmail doesn't offer IMAP or POP support then I thought I could just access my mail account by using the Safari, and in fact the Apple support recommends doing that. But when I get to the login page and type my username and password and click enter, it goes back to the login page instead of going to my mail inbox.
What's happening? Can anyone help me out with this? I would really aprecciate it.

thanks for replying to my question! I'm actually using the wi-fi I have at home, and I access my Hotmail account on my laptop normally with the same one. I tried accessing it with some other wi-fi connections but the problem stayted the same, and I also tried a different account like you suggested and it didn't work as well. I'm afraid nothing worked...

Have you checked the applications folder?
To quickly find it on the top right press the spotlight button it looks like that image
and type in Mail it should appear in the spotlight list, click it to launch mail or alternatively right click it and press open enclosing folder to find out where it has vanished too

This has to be resolved by your mail service provider. Call them and have them tell you how to create a new password and save it.

Hi, first try opening your Gmail account, then sign out.
If that doesn't do it, open Options (cog wheel) - in the 3-bar menu unless you've moved it, > Privacy tab, then Show Cookies, and remove any Gmail cookies. You can also try clearing the cache by, in Options > Advanced tab > Network tab > Cached Web Content > Clear Now.

Didn't answer security questions, since update cannot access my itunes account with password

Since we updated my mother's ipad, she cannot access her itunes account. It wants her to answer two security questions, which we didn't do when we set it up. Also I put in all the info and it didn't recognize her birthday, which I know we put in right when we set up her account.

I cannot access my sync account on any computer. I have tried to get it to send me the password so I can access it, but I never get the e-mail. Although I attempt to set up a new account in the event that I did not use that e-mail to set up my account and it says it is already in use. You are right. Sync's reset password feature is broken at the moment.
I found a bug where the issue is being tracked and as soon as a fix is posted there I'll update this post. It looks like the server that sends the emails is offline or having some other sort of technical issue. I can't say for sure b/c I don't work for Mozilla.
Anyway, even the Mozilla employees themselves are unable to get their password reset emails. So take comfort in knowing that you aren't the only one with this problem. :) As far as how soon you can expect a fix? I didn't see any timetable for that. I'll let you know if that changes.
