I cant see pic only(!) mark but it shows pic info like width and height...
iphoto gave me msg like rebuilding my photo library, but I did not. now when I imported last time I can see the last pictures, but my previous pictures are unseen, when I click on each one and go to show info it gives me info about each picture, but the square where the picture should be contains only ! mark, nothing more. What do I do? Any ideas?

The ! or ? turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
The most common cause of this is User Activity in the iPhoto Library Folder in the Finder.
Have you altered, moved or renamed anything in the iPhoto Library Folder?
If you haven't, then try rebuilding the database. Hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose the top three options.
If that fails then it sounds like your database has been corrupted:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Possible to resize pic according to own width and height ratio?

Usually when resizing (or exporting) a picture, iPhoto automatically chooses an appropriate combination of width and height for us. For example, if I wanted to reduce the width to 320 pixels, iPhoto automatically updates the height to 240, making the resized pic to be 320x240.
However, I need to resize a picture to become 300x300. How can I do that? When I type in 300 for width, iPhoto keeps automatically putting the height as 225, making the picture 300x225, but I need 300x300. Is there a way to manually choose how I want to resize the pic?

What you need to do before exporting is to crop to the size ratio, in this case square. Then you can put in 300 in one dimension field and the other will come in at 300 also. There's a square option in the Constrain menu.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance. -
Rotating and scaling a movieclip withing only its parent width and height

I'd like to rotate a movieclip within specific area (its parent width and height) and it can't rotate out of it.
How can I achieve that.
When I say for exampe:
mc.rotation = 10;
it rotates also outside the parent area.
How can I restrict it to only parent area.

With each rotation step you could check the bounds of the rotating MC. If it's greater than the containing MC, you can calculate the scale factor and apply it to the x- and y-scale of the rotating clip.
The clip would have to be deadcentre in the containing clip for this to work though.
I suppose there would be some mathimatical way with most primitive shapes to calculate the width and height with a certain rotation, but I suppose this would be easiest. -
i am using iphone 4s with ios 7.4 but cannot dial the nos like *111# and *99# where as these nos can be dialed on phone with 6.1.3 how can i solve this problem
After reviewing several more suggestions, I found a YouTube video that described the issue and resolved it by cleaning the dock connector. I was skeptical, but I had noticed that immediatly after charging or using my dock that the audio would be back temporarily. After cleaning the dock port, the issue appeared to be resolved temporarily, but appears to have returned again. I will clean it well and then test again to see if it resolves the issue permanantly. So far this seems to have provided the best result.

Close messages on the iPad, then open it again and see if the message shows as delivered. Since you didn't say which iOS you are running (which really is helpful if you need help) here are instructions for closing apps in iOS 5, 6 and 7.
iOS 5 or 6 - Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
iOS 7 - To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it. -

w3c valid site, initially no error reported by developer toolbar. But upon right click (giving the validation menue), the the toolbar reports two errors: width and height. Cant see pictures- only gray box with !

My laptop died on me and I have just got a new one. I installed itunes and updated my phone software, but now all the Apps are missing and i cant see them in my account as purchased to re-download.
There is no purchase history when i view my account information, can anyone explain what has happened?If you have more than one account, you have to log in to the one that was used to purchase those apps.

Firefox crashes when browsing pics from my computer to upload to websites like facebook and blogger
When trying to upload pics from my computer to facebook or blogger, firefox will crash. It's sending error reports but I haven't heard anything back and the problem is ongoing. I recently upgraded to firefox 6 and am running Windows XP. It crashed when I am searching for a picture to upload, I never get far enough to begin uploading. Cant see songs in library but can on ipod
I have 241 songs on my ipod but only 156 in my library - even though every song on my ipod was purchased from itunes (i.e., i did not download any songs from a cd or other external source). I have clicked on the Store heading and clicked check for purchases. Any guess as to why the songs I purchase are downloading to my ipod but not my library? Is there a way to copy songs from my ipod to my library? Thanks.
Never mind...I think I just figured it out. I have a 300 GB hard drive with a volume label of "300GB" mapped as a network drive to E: on my laptop. I was just looking through other threads and I think my laptop is getting confused between the ipod and this network drive...I'll just map it to a different letter and see if that fixes it.

Cant see airports on pc, but they work fine on ipad, what's going on ?
ive got 2 air ports, neither are found when i do a search with the airport untility on my vista laptop.
i plugged them in with a network cable and they are found, somehow i have programmed them, and they work fine with my ipad and iphone. when i unplug the network cable,the dam laptop will still not detect them, if i go to Configure Other in the airport untility and type the ip manual, it will connect and it says its fine etc.
they are still working fine with ipad/phone
ive removed all firewalls/anitvirus incase that was it but no joy.

I cant see canon 5d mark III raw preview on finder -
I tried Apple Camera Raw 3.12 but it just close after showing a pop up window the uppgrade is only for Aperture and Iphoto - I even installed Adobe camera Raw 7, and nothing.
I manually installed the latest RAW update (3.13 I think - for 10.6.8) .... worked for me.
(auto-update didn't do **** about raw update)
now aperture and os-x (10.6.8) show the 5dmk3 raw's.
