I couldn't even get this one right!
I need some help with the very basic of java, I cant manage to make the class file...
I created the file, which i called: "myprog.java" (just followed the instructions from this guide: http://richardbowles.tripod.com/java/guide/intro.htm).
But then i went into MS-DOS, you know, the little black screen in windows xp :P
Then typed in as i was instructed "Javac myprog.java" after finding the folder containing the file of course.
But the all I get is an error message: (this might not be exactly how it is written because I have an norweagon edition of windows XP).
Javac is not known as an internal or eksternal command, runable (is that a real word?) or "somthing" file.
I know its not much to go on, beacause of my bad english and, well bad english...
But if anyone could try and maybe, be able to figure this out i would be very happy.

This is not a Java issue. It's a Windows installation/Path/Command prompt issue.
First, I don't know if the command prompt is case-sensitve or not. If it is, you'll want javac, not Java.
Second, you'll need to make sure that javac is in your PATH. On XP, in Control Panel --> System on the Advanced tab there's an Envrionment Variables button. Click that, and make sure that the JDK's bin directory is in your Path varaible.
Usually it will be something like C:\jdk1.5.0\bin, but you'll have to set it for the version and location of your installation.

Confusing i know I shall try explain.
I was with another ISP on ADSL max until 2 days ago but I noticed that BT were upgrading my local exchange to 21CN so as I was out of contract with my old ISP i decided to move to BT so that I could get better speeds from the 21CN network that was going into my local exchange. My phone line and Broadband were moved to BT on the 10th December, on that day i went into the sam knows website and checked my exchange to find that the 21CN was now enabled in my exchange...............great i thought, perfect timing............not quite it seems as when i look at my router stats I am on G.992.1 Modulation which to the best of my knowledge is the "up to 8Mb" service.
Could someone with a little more knowledge than me please look at my line stats and confirm what I am thinking please. I appreciate my homehub is only 2 days into its 10 day learning period but from what i can see it is learning the wrong network. If what i think is correct how would i have this put right as I did not leave one up to 8Mb service just to go straight to another. 21CN was my only reason for moving to BT and seems like I am not getting it.....my exchange code is ESKGH so you can check for yourself

who can help me out with this task...
I have a sub report that has a group by week.
Each week contains totals from deliveries, production, demand and at the end of each week is a calculated stock level (running total).
Deliveries and production increases the stock level while the demand reduces the stock level.
It looks a bit like this;
Week Delivery Production Demand Stock level

2 2 2 5 4
3 1 1 3 3
4 2 1 4
Now what I am looking for is this;
I want to calculate the stock level in week 3 with deduction of the totals from delivery and production from week 2.
Instead of the totals from week 2.
I dont want the demand calculation be changed it must be deducted from the from the stock level in the same week the demand is.
So then you get this;

1 5

Who can help me with the right formula to get this done.

Create a Formula with below content and place it in place of "Stock Level" field

Please replace the <Database field for...> with your actual database fields.
Also check whether on last record, you are getting proper value.

Trying to get this "One" sound with Logic pro 8
Hi everyone i spent like 2 hours last night trying to get this sound with Logic Pro 8 soft synths trying to find a sound exactly like or close to this sound: http://home.comcast.net/~tommykry/Weezer%20-%20Troublemaker.mp3
The sound can be heard at 00:19 and through out the song, its like a low bass synth kind of sound that drifts down when its hit, like a portamento kind of thing. In live weezer videos the bass player is hitting a pad on a keyboard so i know its a key sound not a bass guitar slide. ive heard this sound in trance and techno songs as well. I have Sonar 8 and pro tools 8 as well and can look there if i have too, also have an Access viress Ti, But im trying to do this all in Logic. Like i said i played around for like more than 2 hours going through most of all the Logic synths, patch after patch trying to find something close i could tweak, so if anyone has more experience with The Soft synths in Logic Pro 8 and can steer me in the right direction i would be greatful.

He could just be triggering a bass slide sample...
It's some kind of bass sound that bends down, in a similar style to what a bass player might do. Whether it's a real bass or a synth is difficult to say (and probably doesn't matter a great deal), but in any case it's certainly compressed, and grunged up dirty with some amp sim or distortion...

I love the new Lady Antebellum song "Dancing away with my heart." Purchased it, would not download. So, I purchased the entire album "We Own The Night, just to get this song.....It downloaded all the songs except "Dancing away with my heart!" Error message pops up everytime I attempt to download the song again "Error - file may be corrupted." It is listed on my IPOD and in my list of purchased music, my account was debited, yet the songs are not there. HELP!
Delete the contents of the <Media Folder>\Download folder
Use Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset cache
Delete the current entry from your library
Download it again from your purchased history

I no longer own the other computers that I have authorised, so I'm not too sure how I get to start again.
Very frustrating, listening to one song and then it stops, because its not authorised to play the next song.

iOS 7 apparently requires at least 512MB of RAM. The fourth generation iPod touch only has 256MB, and therefore won't get it.

Can't get this one site to work in IE8
I'm convinced I have the current version of Flash working properly - IE8 reports Flash Shockwave Object 10.2.153.1 , Shockwave ActiveX Control 11.5.9.620 and the Adobe test page seems to confirms this. All seems fine with all other sites, but there seems something wrong with the following link - it reports "Flash Player 9 needed - you don't have it installed"

Flash Player this last time had some new Technology in addition to Security updates so maybe that website hasn't updated yet. That does happen.

Cannot even get Safari to open
Last night Safari was working fine. Today when I tried to open it nothing happened. I've clicked and clicked on it and nothing. I went to applications and clicked on the icon there and all I got was a spinning rainbow ball. Finder finally came on and said you can't do that. When I got the spinning ball I couldn't even get the apple force quit option to come up. Firefox still works fine. Don't know which Safari version I have because it won't open. Also can't put it in the trash and if I try dragging a new one from applications it just jumps into the old one. I'm not a whiz with computers, just basic knowledge. Right now running Tiger. Any ideas?

I'm using MacFuse to connect via Finder. It worked before, even on 10.7. But since I cannected th eiPhone to my Windows 7 dual boot partition, now it won't work! Maybe it was just a coincidence, not sure. Just returns this error:

I get this one when I try to copy files OFF of the iPhone:

Sounds like a permissions error to me. So I fixed permissions on my Mac with disc utility, but same problem. Then chmod with terminal the media folder. Did nothing. So I can't change permissions, and they're not broken. What could've happened? I'm like, locked out of my device!Repair Apple Application Support.

I got this effect playing around with filters in my Adobe Elements, but now that my father bought Photoshop CS6 Extended, I took advantage and installed it on my laptop aswell. The problem is, I have no idea how to use most of it.
I've been learning some tricks on YouTube tutorials and courses, but I just can't find the way to get this one effect.
I'm very gratefull for you taking the time to reading this and helping me, and I wish you a great day.Lots of ways to do that. After applying the Threshold adjustment, you could use Gaussian blur followed by levels and drag the black and white sliders toward the center like this:

You could use the Magic wand with Contiguous un-checked, and select the blacks. Then use Refine Edge, and add some Smoothing, and wee bit of feather. OK that and fill with black (Alt/Opt backspace with black as your foreground colour)
Now invert the selection (Ctrl Shift i or Cmd Shift i) and fill with white. You will loose fine detail acording to the settings you use in Refine edge - especiall the amount of Smoothing.
Or
Copy the layer with Ctrl/Cmd j
Add a new background layer, and fill with white.
Select the blacks with the magic wand (remember to uncheck contiguous in the Options bar), and with the selection in place, add a layer mask.
Now completely fill the layer (not the layer mask) with black.
You can now adjust the effect with the Mask Properties panel. If you can get it right with Feather you can make as many adjustments as you like to fine tune, but if you use Mask edge, you only get one go because it is destructive editing. -
How to get this 2004 PMG5 back up and running?

My girlfriend and I picked up a bunch of Power Macs the other day: 1x G5 Quad, 1x G5 2004 Dual 1.8 and a G4 MDD 2003. The G4 works great and I upgraded the graphics to a lovely Geforce 3 Ti200 card. Great OS9 machine!
The G5s though, are a different story. The Quad has the infamous Delphi LCS, which broke. The logic board is undamaged, but the previous owner was not kind to this machine. The red LED near the top RAM slot shows the ill fate of this machine.
My question is mainly about the 2004 Dual 1.8Ghz machine. It POSTs fine, but once it tries to boot from a disk or a DVD, it hangs at the Apple logo. No spinning wheel, just an immediate freeze. The fans go turbo as soon as the open firmware is loaded.
Specifications:
G5 Dual 1.8Ghz from 2004
2GB PC3200 (2x 1GB, tested as working properly in other machines)
Radeon 9600XT
Disks tested include several SATA drives as well as a Kingston HyperX SSD. DVDs include 10.4.6 Tiger and 10.5.6 Leopard, universal versions.
What have we tried so far:
- PRAM reset (machine doesn't respond to the command, just continues it's boot attempt)
- Safe mode / single user mode / verbose mode (again, machine does not respond to the commands)
- Replacing the PRAM battery
- Booting into Open Firmware (works fine, the multiboot section works fine as well, and the install DVDs are detected)
- dev /memory .properties command in Open Firmware (shows SPI data as expected, RAM appears functional)
- PCI SATA card to rule out a defective SATA controller.
What we haven't tried yet:
- Apple Hardware Test to diagnose any remaining problems.
So, dear Apple community, is there something else we're missing here? I can get a Dual 2Ghz logic board + CPUs on the cheap if need be, but I'd rather get this one back up and running.I am delighted that you are someone who practices the reuse and recycle idea. Up until yesterday, I did not know that a Power PC version of the Mac was even made. I had been using a Intel imac that I bought new in 2007, and the shop that I had it at said that it would be too expensive to fix - so they were willing to let me have this power pc G5 for what I had put down for the repair. It looks like this PPC G5 is just about new - and I suspect because it was made non-upgradable from almost the git go.
I am wondering if you have found anything that will adapt your machine to newer operating systems? I am wondering if you have tried an external hard drive possibly?
If you are familiar with the Meet Up network - I am a member of the Okanagan Mac Users Meet Up group. I was thinking that it might make a lot of sense to make a proposal to Apple that the outfits that are making counterfeit software should be given an alternative that would be legit. I am thinking that these rogue software developers could be invited to make a budget line of adaptive software that could make use of the power pc hardware - and could be linked with some kind of software that would be able to interact with the advanced platforms. I would like to be able to get my system to run Chrome and Google docs. I also need to connect my HP Officejet 7610 wide printer.

I just dont understand icloud I guess. I can't wrap my mind around this one. Once I back up all my data to icloud what do I do with the data on my phone as far as pictures,music ,mail etc. I have an ipad, mac and an iphone. Love them all just cant get this one. I bought forty dollars worth of extra memorey for this as I trhought that was my problem. It is still sitting there not used waiting to expire ...Please help and thank you for your time
Do not delete anything from your devices, if you do it will be deleted from the cloud.
Think of the cloud as the master copy for data you keep synced between devices. -
I have rebooted my computer several times and I am still receiving this message. Please advise as to how I can correct this problem. I even get this message when trying to uninstall Firefox.
I had the same problem and went round and round in circles trying to uninstall FF5. Nothing worked. I eventually downloaded a free "Uninstaller" programme, i.e. Revo which did the job and I have since downloaded a fresh Firefox 5 which is working perfectly.
