I don't have sound on my laptop speakers, just the headphones

My headphones work, but not the computer speakers. Using windows 7, Pavilion DV 7-6C43. I went to Sound and couldn't change any settings to get them to work.

Hey Ron,
Im assuming the speakers worked previously and they recently stopped working. I would first try a hard reset. Here is a link that will walk you through the steps on how to perform a hard reset: http://goo.gl/6mk6K
The hard reset removes all electricity from the computer and then allows it to be reintroduced which typically resolve issues like this. Let me know how this works and if it does not resolve the issue we can go from there.

Just updated to IOS 7.1.2, now some games and apps don't have sound. What to do?

I Updated to iOS 7.1.2 and some of my already installed apps and games don't have sound. Some apps and games do have sound. The sound was never adjusted on any of the games. I tried deleting and reinstalling the ones with no sound and still no sound. how can I resolve this issue?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps

What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. Without internet connection there is no way for you restore the iPad.

If you are seeing the USB cord and iTunes icons on your screen something has gone wrong with the update. You will have to restore your iPhone. The only way to do this is to connect the phone to your computer that is running iTunes.

Satellite A505-S6973 - No sound of my laptop speakers

I own an A505-S6973 and today i lost volume on my speakers. When i jack in my headphones i get sound but without the headphones plugged in, I get no sound of my laptop speakers.
I checked device manager for software problems but everything is cleared, also, my volume is fully on.
I attempted a restore, but was unsuccessful, also i tried to uninstall and reinstall value added package but when attempting to launch the software after extracting it an error[0x8146045B] signals itself.
This morning everything seemed to work fine, the only thing i can think of, i removed windows media my network places sharing.
If this is the culprit can someone guide me on how I can re-install it. Also, the value added package issue, is there anything that can be done, because the buttong to enable/disable touchpad when depress nothing happens but if i use the function key with F9 it enables/disables.
I really hope someone can help me, it seems this is an unlucky weekend for me.

It sounds like you have a credit card saved to your Apple ID payment information and you would like it to be removed from the account and set the payment method to None. You should be able to do this with the following article:

It sounds like you have disconnected the digital audio speakers from your MacBook Pro but all you have available in your audio settings. Take a look at this info from the following article named:

If the Internal Speakers option does not appear in the Output tab and your computer is not a Mac Pro, check that Digital Out is present as in the image below:
Confirm again that all external audio devices and cables have been removed.
Check to see if a red light is lit in the line-out port. If so, your Apple computer may need service.
If you do not see a red light, proceed to step 5.
If the issues persist, contact Apple support for further troubleshooting assistance.

try to restore in itunes bye putting in recovey mode turn the ipod off press the home button and plug in the ipod into the computer. an itunes shuld see it in recovery mode and click restore. and that should do the trick.
