I downloaded the iOs 6.1.3 and now my pictures and most apps I payed for are gone. Is there anyway to retrieve them?

I went to download the Yahoo! app on my iPod and it said I had to download the iOs 6.1.3 to get the app. I did so and I also dowloaded the newest iTunes on my computer. I had all my pictures and apps backed up on iCloud. After the update I checked my pictures and they were all gone. I also looked at my apps and most of them are gone and for a couple of free apps that I made purchases within, the information was erased. For example, I had the free version of the Harry Potter Spells app. Inside the app I bought the spell packages and when I got the game back on my iPod after the update, the information was erased. That's not fair especially because I paid for those and iFeel as though Apple has ripped me off. (Please pardon my pun.) But what I really want to know is if there is someway to retrieve them?

Restore from iCloud Backup step by step
1. Erase all contents and settings (Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings)
2. You'll be asked twice to confirm
3. You'll see Apple logo and progress bar
4. You'll see a big iPad logo on screen
5. Configuration start
6. Set language
7. Set country
8. Enable Location Service
9. Select network, enter password and join network
10. You'll be given 3 options (a) Setup as New iPad (b) Restore from iCloud Backup (c) Restore from iTune Backup
11. Selected Restore from iCloud Backup
12. You'll be required to enter Apple ID and Password
13. Agree to Terms and Conditions
14. Select Backup file
15. You'll see progress bar
16. Red slider will appear; slide to unlock; step #1 to #16 is fast
17. Pre-installed apps will be restored first
18. Message: Purchased apps and media will now be automatically downloaded
19. You'll see a pageful of apps with Waiting/Loading/Installing
20. When the restore process is complete, your device will restart. You should connect the device to iTunes to sync data not contained in the backup (such as music, videos, apps, and so on).

Depending upon what country that you are in (and if you haven't changed countries since buying it and it's still in your store) then you might be able to redownload it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone.
You should also be regularly connecting your phone to your computer's iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so as to copy all of your downloads over so that you can take a backup copy of them (and preferably taking a backup of the phone if you have any important documents and/or photos on it) - apps and other downloads could also be potentially be removed from a country's store at any time, so you may not be able to redownload them either.

Restore your library from your most recent backup (you do keep regular backups, I hope). If the hard drive is in any way salvageable it may be possible to mount it in an external enclosure, connect it to your PC, and retrieve data from it even if it is not functioning as a primary OS drive (if you don't have the kit necessary to do this, your local PC repair shop may be able to help). Failing that, you can always recreate your library by re-importing your CDs.

Have you failed to use the device as designed?
If using the iPhone as designed, contacts are synced with a supported application on the computer or a cloud service. Pictures taken with the device would be copied off to the computer on a regular basis.
If you have been using the device as designed, simply sync the content back.
If you have not been using the device as designed, you can try restoring from the most recent backup. However, if that does not restore them, they are gone.

HT201272 Why can I buy movies on the Brazilian Store, but then there is no way to re-download them. I restored my iPad backup from iCloud and all Movies I Payed for are gone. Unbelievable

I needed to restore my iPad contends and settings, and i was using iCloud backup, but there is no way to re-download any movies I already bought on the Brazilian iTunes store, not that I was able to discover.
All instructions where to the American one, that is slightly different. On this f****ng country(Brasil) I can only re-download music. Very sad.
Is there another way to get my content back without having to pay all over again?
If there is no way to re-download it then don't bother to offer the buy option, or put a warning there that if you someway lost your copy that you would have to pay to download it again. I'm really p****ed with this situation.
First the Apple TV doesn't even have the buy option, so i had to buy and download on the iPad and use airplay to watch it on the TV, and now it's simple gone.
This titles are almost the same price than a BD, if I had the patience to go out and buy it on a store I still would be able to watch it.

Re-downloading of films is currently only available in the US (due to film studio restrictions), and not all films can be re-downloaded there as not all film studios are allowing it. Have you not got a copy of them on your computer and/or on a backup ? There is a file in the iTunes library folder that contains your playlist information is the iTunes Library.xml file.
Try and find the file, usually located in one of these locations depending on your OS:
Operating System
Default location of iTunes Folder
Mac OS X
/Users/[your username]/Music
Microsoft Windows XP
\Documents and Settings\[your username]\My Documents\My Music\
Microsoft Windows Vista
\Users\[your username]\Music\
Microsoft Windows 7
\Users\[your username]\My Music\
Then you can import this file to your iTunes Library like this:
1. Choose File > Library > Import Playlist.
2. Navigate to the "iTunes Library.xml" file
3. Windows users: Click Open.
If your Podcasts list in iTunes is empty after following these steps, learn how to add them back into iTunes.

The cable carries the same warranty as the device with which it came. Bring it to Apple. If a hardware defect is noted (and not misuse) then the cable will be replaced.

When iPhoto '11 crashes after importing photos and videos, they are gone. How can I retrieve them?

iPhoto '11 randomly crashes after importing/editing/organizing photos and videos. When it does, photos and videos that I've been working on are gone. Pictures taken with iOS devices can be retrieved if they are still in Photo Stream, but videos are gone. Is there anyway I can retrieve photos and pictures that are not saved before iPhoto crashes? Also, is there anyway to prevent it from crashing? It seems iPhoto '11 is doing this since the day 1 I started using it. Thank you.

Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library
this should help with the crashes - it may or may not help with the missing videos

I moved my itunes library and now when I open itunes all my music lisitngs are gone

Help...I wanted the other account on my computer (pc) to be able to listen to my itunes library. I followed the instructions from Apple,
(I thought correctly) and when I open itunes on my account all the songs are gone. Its as if I never had an itunes libary. When I go to the other account on the computer and open itunes, there is an older version of the library w/ only some songs but when I click on a song, it says it cannot be located. Which is why I tried to move the library in the first place.

What process did you use for moving the library?
I have noticed iTunes on rare occasions loses files. Don't know why. Keep back ups. Before updating a backup run a script such as Dougscript List MIAs so you can make sure you aren't deleting your only copy should one get lost from your main drive.
You might want to note that it is a mistake giving away the CDs. When you no longer posess the CD you relinquish the right to keep a copy of the music. Also, as you are finding, you no longer have a backup source for the music.
