I got my Labview 6.1 yesterday - AWESOME

The most clever change has been added to Labview. I have just started
playing with it, but you programmers that write state machine programs
are gonna love this! There's a new structure called the Event
Structure. It's similar to a case structure, but the case is selected
based on an event message. It's got a built in default case that is
the "Timeout Case" and a timer. The timer is an input node to which
you wire a millisecond timeout value. When the structure executes, it
waits for user defined events to occur, one case for each event. If
none of the defined events occur, then the default timeout case
executes. If an event occurs, then the defined event case executes.
It's Labview messaging! The strucure also has an ou
tput node that
gives you access to the selected case value and the timer value. The
list of events for which you can define cases includes mouse actions
and value changes on front panel controls (no more shift register
comparisons or "value changed" subVI's to detect GUI events!!!).
I haven't written a full blown program yet, as I've only had it
installed for a few hours and only played with it for a few minutes.
It's pretty intuitive, though. I can see already that I'm goint to be
able to restructure many of my state machines and do away with a lot
of wiring.
It's also got some fully interactive web contol built in, but I
haven't had time to play with it. Just wanted to give my kudo's to NI
for supplying a badly needed new tool.

I've gotta say that I haven't tried 6.1 yet but by your description it sounds like LabView has finally caught up with the rest of the programming languages.
I've been using Delphi and some C++ for a number of years now and the sort of things you are describing with windows event driven functions (mouse clicks etc.) have been possible for all this time.
I started using LabView 6.0 about 10 months ago and I couldn't believe how difficult it was to detect windows events such as button presses. I am still not very happy with having to create all these shift registers to compare last values etc.
Now that the new version is available I can't believe that NI expect us to pay a not insignificant amount of money for these 'extra' functions when they are in ess
ence a fundamental part of all modern operating systems.

Altivec Fractal Carbon gives the CPU too much chance to cool down. I've got other ways to drive the CPU to sustained 100% load. Yes, the fans speed up, but it's still pretty quiet. I've run it at 100% for hours.
I like the idea of taking things gradually. If you can wait a few days before making big changes, it can make things much easier. 3-4 weeks is very conservative, but great if you have that much patience.
My Quad has been up full-time since I got it. Works perfectly.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Apple includes Lion with its refurbished products. What you bought was a used computer. The best course of action is to try to get your money back and buy a factory-certified refurbished computer. Otherwise, you are likely buying someone else's problem.

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

I just got a new iphone 5 yesterday. I can't get any of the apps to request access to my photos.

I bought a new iphone 5c yesterday and am installing all of my apps on to it, and also updated to iOs 7.1.2. None of the apps I have installed (such as instagram, facebook, twitter or messenger) have requested access to my photos so I can't use my photos within the apps. How do I change this? I have already gone to my settings, general, privacy, photos and there are no requests from apps to allow this feature. I have tried uninstalling the apps and reinstalling them thinking maybe if I did that the request would pop up but that didn't work. The only thing instagram has requested is access to my microphone. Can someone help please? I'm getting beyond frustrated, and I can not get to an apple store to have someone take a look.

All of your pictures adn contact should be on your computer. Nothing should only be on your iphone. The iphone is not a storage device. it simply mirrors the selected content of your computer.
You should be syncing contacts to your computer regularly and importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly.
Have you failed to do this?

I got my pre qualification letter yesterday from Chase Mortgage!

I have been debating back and forth for weeks on if I'm actually going to apply for the mortgage. Moreso, fear of rejection after working so hard over the past 1 1/2 year getting everything I could cleaned up and removed mostly by myself (using this board for suggestions). So, I reached out to several mortgage brokers and banks and decided that Chase would offer me the better rate and discounts (because I'm a checking customer I can get discounts on having auto payments and cash back annually). I called the LO several times over the past two months, clarifying their requirements and making sure I understood what they would be looking for. I bit the bullet and applied a couple of days ago and the LO called me yesterday to verify some info AND issued me the prequal letter. I was sooooo excited I almost cried. I understand that this isn't over and I still have a long way to go, but even getting this far is such an accomplishment for me. I am going to gather all the necessary documents and schedule an appointment to get the PreApproval done, and get an appointment with a realtor to start officially looking for my 1st home. I get all warm and fuzzy saying that! Thanks for reading and all of the encouragement (mostly indirect by you guys posting on everyones posts)

I had a cracked screen and I got a replacement Iphone 4 yesterday. The colors appear washed out and muddy looking.

I took my Iphone 4 to an Apple retail store. It had a cracked screen and I got and out warrantee replacement for $149. Everthing works but the display is subpar. The wallpaper and images appear muddy yellow and the colors appear washed out.
Can I exchange it for another one?

I just got my new iPhone 5 yesterday; after setting it up, I can't put any music from my itunes library on my iPhone

I have Windows 7 on my computer, and my iTunes is the latest version. My new phone has the latest version also. When I go to the Music tab in iTunes under my phone, the only option is Sync voice memos. What the heck? I bought the largest phone so I could have all my music on my phone also. My music library is on an external hard drive but it's on the network and I my phone should have access to it.

You need to use a different Apple ID for iCloud.
Create a new Apple ID https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
On your iPhone enter the new Apple ID in Settings > iCloud > Account.
You can all continue to use the original Apple ID for iTunes and App Store.

My macbook got a new hard drive yesterday and now iPhoto's not working...

I have everything backed up via time machine on an external drive. All of my photos show up in Images but won't load in iPhoto. My OS was updated to Lion 10.7.3; I used to be running OS X 10.6.2 so now everything's a little different. It tells me that I need to updgrade my libary, when I click to do that it tells me it can't open the current library using this version of iPhoto and makes me quit. Any ideas?
