I guess Chrome will not allow me to sign up for Mozilla newsletters after I downloaded FF, unable to get page to accept my email, etc.

Been having trouble w/Chrome would play audio only of Vimeo videos, fixed that but now will not display photos on Pinterest, only the links behind them. So I thought I'd try Firefox again, used to use it for several years. Downloaded and then thought I should sign up for your newsletters. But (using Chrome right now) I could not get the page to accept my subscription. Tried several times, refreshed, etc. Not sure why, seems strange.

I'm sorry cor-el. I have not yet installed Firefox, life is way too busy just now. 24/7 caregiving is taking its toll :( I will install soon.
I guess with my post here my intent was mainly letting you folks know that apparently there is a bug on that newsletter page when it is viewed in Chrome. I could not find any way to report this issue unless I came here so I gave the whole story when I did. I am pretty sure once I install Firefox, I will be able to use that page to sign up for the newsletters, thinking it must be Chrome. Of course, I could be wrong, we'll see when I get to it. Thank you for your patience

i visit the same page and got the same message except the popup blocker was blocking the sign in page from loading.
you could try using the following link to see if you can get to the login screen if it works you could add it as a bookmark until you find a solution.

But it still works great, however, it was out of commission for the past 5 months cuz my computer was not working to sync it and it wanted me to "connect to itunes" and i couldnt at the time...(plug it in to sync).... And now my computer and iTunes are working and the itunes software is updated as well. So i have synced my itouch and said itouch is working and restored however it will not allow me to access my wifi settings. The button is unaccessable and unhighlighted as i have stated above already and am in the process of syncing and restoring said itouch again!!! Which should take another full day or two lol lol omg!!!

The circle just spins and times out and nothing happens. I've reset the iPad in the settings menu, reset the router, logged in and out of Apple id, powered ithe iPad off and on, and tried a couple other "fixes" that I've read online. So far no luck. Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications. I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone. I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups. And if you have anti virus software installed, disable that before trying to access the App Store.
If you have Litlte Snich installed, that can prevent access to the App Store.
Keep in mind, you can't update your existing apps from another Apple ID if you create a new account.

Facetime will not allow me to sign in

My daughter has been using Facetime on her iPod Touch but now it will not allow her to sign in saying incorrect username/password. We have changed her Apple ID and password and still it will not work.
When she is connected to iTunes she is getting an update message to update the iPod software to version 5. When I press update I then get a message saying we need to download iTunes 10.5. I then accept that but nothing happens. Nothing. Not even an error message.
So we are getting nowhere. Tried changing the wifi DNS on the iPod to 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 and that didn't work.
I'm stuck now ... please help!

Forgot to mention that I have restored the iPod back to original settings and it still doesn't work.

Recently, my Mac Mail keeps requesting the passwords on my accounts every few minutes, and will not allow me to send messages using Mac Mail (the message says that the outgoing server was rejected. I cannot edit the outgoing server, and the keychain will not save my passwords (the ports are valid). How can I change the outgoing server to send emails, and how can I avoid having Mail request my passwords every 2 minutes? Verizon, as usual, will not provide support to iMacs.

Is there an email saved in your drafts or outbox folder? I suspect that Mail is continually trying to send it, and each time Google is rejecting the email message.
You can open the message and then delete it from your Outbox folder. Then try removing all @gmail email addresses from it and seeing whether you can send to the other folks. I suspect that will work.
With email, if an SMTP server *can* verify email addresses, sometimes it will and it will refuse to send messages. If a message has to be relayed across servers, no verification is done, and you'll get a bounce if an email address is bad.

Itunes wont authorize to me to dowload anything - I haven't accessed Itunes for over a year during that time my computer crashed, I had to change email addresses and things got lost...like passwords and so forth and so on...I recieved two emails to [email protected] from itunes saying all was good and then all wasn't good. Please, can you help me!

I suggest you go to Apple's ID site, log in and update everything. Then you will surely get a confirmation mail.
Once all is done, you will most probably be able to log in to the iTunes store again.

IPhoto 11: Will not allow me to select photos for upload

Hello my knowledgeable compadres. I have installed iLife 11 and am running Snow Leopard 10.6.6 on a MacBookPro. I have had no problems with iPhoto 09 but since I've upgraded to the latest version, I am unable to select photos to upload to email, facebook, web pages or anywhere else. Interesting variation is that some photos are selectable; others are not. They are all jpg format so I am at a loss. I can't select photos from within iPhoto to edit; I can't click and select photos from the photos icon in the finder; I can't select any photos from the dialogue between Facebook & iPhoto and it's driving me crazy. when I attempt to select the photo from the preview pane in iphoto, it either is inert or, allows me to select it but the photo goes to black with a grey alert symbol on it and disappears in either a close up view or edit window.
The exclamation point - ! - turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents. Your problem isn't selecting files, its that iPhoto can't find the file you've selected.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

TS1398 I have been having network problems on my Ipad and I reset all network settings as advised in the article about problems connecting to networks. Now my Ipad will not allow me to sign onto any network....it will not accept the passwords for any net

My ipad has been a little glitchy for the last couple of weeks....not able to load pages because of DNS lookup failure and really slow loading...some of which has to do with the DSL service I have, but I followed the directions on one of the Apple wi-fi issues pages to reset network all connections..which I did, and now the Ipad cannot connect to WiFi because it will not accept (or cannot resolve..or??) password. I am sure I am typing the password correctly and have tried it on several routers..and it cannot cannect to any router properly even with the correct password. My laptop is connected just fine and it accepts the password and I have confirmed the password with the ISP and tried other routers.
So the question is what should I do if I am entering the right password and the Ipad can't sign itself on to the Wifi network?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button
