iMovie it isn't! Wow, what did I get myself into? Final Cut Express 4 is a different animal!
How do you set this up? I got an easy setup screen, and it isn't easy. What do I do? I have an HV20, but now what?

Hi Scott! Welcome to the Final Cut world!
I also have an HV20. For the easy setup, you're going to want to select the quality settings to HD 1080i. If you have an external hard drive and want to store captured video there, change the scratch disk in one of the toolbars. Just search around the easy setup window, fix the above, and you're off! Check out Apple's tutorials at: http://www.apple.com/finalcutexpress/tutorials/
They should help you get started capturing and editing.

I suggest that you clear the AppWorld application cache:
1. Open App World
2. Go to My World
3. Follow one (and only one!) of these steps:
3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T
3b. For Touch Screen Only BBs -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (
3c. For newer (e,g., OS6 and 7) BB's, see this KB:

4. AppWorld should close.
5. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot
6. Return to AppWorld/MyWorld (it may be sluggish while it re-synchronizes).
If step (4) does not happen as listed, then the clear cache did not work.
As for refund request, you seek that via your formal support channels, which always begin with your mobile service provider, who can escalate cases into RIM at no cost to the end user.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Motorola HS820 will not pair with my Macbook Pro and now audio is broken...

My problem is two fold.
First i cannot connect my Motorola HS820 Bluetooth headset to my Macbook Pro. The bluetooth assistant pairs it succesfully but when it connects it immediately disconnects. All of the posts i that address this are either for g4 macbooks or do not work for me...
Second, now that i have attempted this connection i am having issues with several apps including firefox and mediacentral. Audio from these programs will not play. I get an error message saying there was a problem with configuration..

This is not related to the Intel platform (MacBook or MacBook Pro). Make sure the headset is turned on before you turn on your Mac. Then it should connect correctly.
To change the sound outpu, please go to Mac OS X > System Preferences > Sound > Output and change it back to the internal speakers.

Office 2013 Std (local) in combination with Office 2013 Pro (App-V)

Hello,
I have multiple RDS servers, that have Office 2013 Std installed locally. I did this on purpose, after reading some blogs pointing out Office 2013 is a complicated applicatie to stream well. And of course Office 2013 is highly critical to my clients.
So I have a local installation of Office 2013 Std on every RDS server.
The catch is, that the client also has an open license for Office 2013 Pro. This is because some users need to work with 'Access 2013'.
So I thought it would be nice to use App-V to stream Access 2013 to the RDS servers. I have created the package for Office 2013 Pro, with Access in it. And I succesfully published Access 2013 to the group of users. So I can use Access on the RDS servers.
The problem is, that when I click on the appliation "MSACCESS.exe", the application pops up in taskmanager and is immidiatly shut down again. So it never launches. No error, no nothing.
I can't find any directions in the server, applicatie or App-V logs in the eventviewer. Does anyone have a clue where to look?

I think to be on a safe side, using a 'true' control system like AppSense or using dedicated RDS servers would be the only legally valid option.
Even when Office (or at least Access) is virtualized, the licensing part and product key handling is done natively on the RDS servers by the 'Office 2013 Deployment Kit'. Besides others this includes a locally installed 'licensing stump'. Therefor there
can be only one Office Suite product key be assigned to a RDS server machine.
In fact you could tell the Deployment Kit to use the Office Pro key (allowing a virtualized Access to run), but then also the locally installed Office Version would (attempt to ) be licensed as 'Pro'. That potentially won't work. In fact you could re-configure
the local Standard Office installation to consume Pro licenses, but that doesn't fit to your legal licenses.
As Aaron write, legally an Office license is bound to the endpoint device, so you'd have to make sure that your Access App-V package can only be access by permitted client machines. And while App-V can filter application on the accessing user and the executing
machine, it can't filter on the accessing end-point.
Though we don't like it... 3rd party or a server silo seem the way to go.

Look to the app developer to provide that information when browsing the iTunes Store.
The iPod Touch still works, so what's your problem with it? It still works with older apps, it still does what it's intended to do.
If you aren't happy then sell it and buy a new one.

I apologize for the confusion. This was literally the only option on Apple's "Contact Us" section that I was able to access. I assumed that Apple's clear intent to have me go here instead of speaking with someone in live time, and the fact this is on the Apple website, meant I could get some advice... Both over the phone and online they require information I need to see my screen to provide so those are not options. I tried to bypass this when calling through Skype. Some lady who didn't know what was going on, who I waited a good while to speak with, put me on hold; I gave up after 30minutes of waiting to speak to somebody again.
I've stumbled upon a few tricks to help me get through this problem, but I'm at a loss. I need this phone to work until late December. I need more tricks. So yes, it's worth understanding. Knowing what is going on will let me Google it and work with it, if nobody here is willing to help...
And yes, it IS a glitchy phone. It has been a glitchy phone for a long time. Long before this. But completely unrelated issues. I was assuming this wasn't just a glitch but something maybe somebody could help me understand.

Timeline progressive with media interlaced - Pro App?

It's been 6 years since I work with FCP and i found something very bad about FCP with progressive timeline and media interlaced.
If you want a use interlaced materials like DVCPRO interlaced but you want edit your movie in progressive. You have to change the sequence properties like that :
But with interlaced media you loose one field even if you use the deinterlaced filter.
Exemple with progressive timeline and interlaced source : FCP Loose one field you can see the stairs on the hand.
Exemple with progressive timeline and interlaced source but with Desinterlaced video filter option anti-flicker max :
The only solution i found was to modificate the interlaced tag from the source properties to "Progressive". Insert the clip and applies the desinterlaced vidéo filter. But we must change the tag for each source clip independently.

Your English is fine, it's our French (or Japanese) that is no good.
You need to think of interlaced material differently. Interlaced video is not made up of 30 individual frames like progressive media; those 30 frames can be thought of individual photographs take 1/30 second apart. Interlaced media consists of 60 individual photos taken 1/60th of a second apart. If you combine one odd and one even field to create a progressive frame, the resolution diminishes dramatically because the fields occur at different points in time. If those hands are moving at all in your shot, the progressively combined fields will bother you more than the discarded field. Then consider a cut between two clips. The cut may require an odd filed from the first clip and the even field from the second clip. That is a visible glitch.
That is one of the fundamental reasons deinterlacing filters discard one field. They must.
Some deinterlacers can combine the adjacent fields but they must be used carefully and are generally not reccomended for media that includes significant movement.

Air Play with Sirius XM APP

I have been using air play with XM Sirius radio app. Suddenly the air play icon has disappeared from the App. Contacted XM Siirius support, they said problem is with IOS not with the app.

Well without actually doing any diagnostics, there is not way they can actually determine that with any certainty. However:
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.
You might also consider deleting and redownloading the app.

PDF's with forms can only be optimized with a SAVE AS and the option set to "Save File For Fast Webviewing".
Be sure that option is set and just do a save as and then rename the file back to your original.

Image size problem with Retina Macbook Pro

I exported raw images to Jpg and then resized as 1200 x 800 resolution images through "Easy batch Pro" app. When I uploaded them, they were extremely large. I've tried it several times and the result was always the same. Is it a problem with "Easy batch Pro" app, or something with Retina Display resolution? I also resized them as small size like 600x400, but the image was totally broke, and apparently had different look when I saw the original via aperture. What should I do?

What's the problem exactly? Call and complain. It's up to them on how they want to handle it, but if it's something normal or minor, they'll just fix the issue under warranty and send you on your way. That's how warranty works. In instances where a user has had repetative failure of the same kind or others with the same system, a complete replacement was done, but those were issues that border on the "it's a lemon" idea.
