I had enough of BS that comes with Microsoft Visual Studio,
Using Ultimate 2013 with update 4 and here is my experience after 40 days of trial usage:
1. IT HANGS for no reason most of the time
2. creating projects takes 20 minutes and mostly results in "Microsoft Visual Studio is not responding..."
3. git source control takes about half a hour to push a commit or to do other kind of operations.
4. repairing Visual Studio made it even worse
5. "Microsoft Visual Studio is not responding..."
6. "Microsoft Visual Studio need to restart..."
7. and when it does restart it opens a solution on which I worked yesterday WTF??
8. I lost my work because Microsoft Visual Studio needed to restart and didn't save my settings!!
9. to much BLOATWARE!
You are asking 13 000$ for this product?? WTF is wrong with you?
There is not way I would give that amount of money for such bull cr*p crashing-non-responding product

It sounds like your VS installation has issues. As this forum supports the C++ programming language, I suggest you ask about how to fix your VS 2013 in the Visual Studio Setup & Installation forum, here:

    Ive had enough of Palm Im afraid.
    I started life with a Palm V, then Vx then Zire.
    Because my Palm Desktop has so much critical info on my customers I bought a Treo 680.
    Now its keyboard doesnt work, I cant even turn the bugger on - I have to reinsert the battery to get the screen to light. 
    The touch screen still works but thats useless cause you cant do anything - like make a phone call.
    So Ive had to put the Sim Card into an old I-mate Jasjam - hate that phone and of course no contact info at my finger tips.
    I bought the Treo 680 cause it sync'd all my Palm Desktop but after only 6 months its stuffed.
    Where should I go now?
    Can I export all my Palm Desktop contacts to Outlook?  I cringe at the thought of using Windows Mobile OS.

    Install the free NVBackup to your 680.  This program is a real life-saver and has saved my butt many times!

    It will let you make an exact duplicate of your device on the card, can do it "automagically" if you desire!   I install and evaluate many new programs each week, and I have had to restore with NVBackup when some new program suddenly scrambles years of hard work and stability in my Palm Devices!     When you install the program, it will also install a copy of itself to your SD card.

  • HAD ENOUGH - NOT GETTING WHAT I WAS CONTRACTED FOR...

    I have unlimited broadband and calls.
    I have previously had free text messaging and therefore not been charged.
    Indeed it shows on previous bills as being free. I send about 40 texts a month.
    I noticed that I was being charged in October bill lfor text mesaaging and called BT - I have called BT numerously previously in the last 4 weeks and was told that it was an error and I would be refunded. This took about 3 hours on the phone and about as long online chatting. I thought that was it.
    I went online today to check my bill and found that I was still being charged and no refund.
    I have spent 2 hours+ on the phone, being told that :
    I needed to talk with repairs and was passed to them only to be told that it wasnt their deparment and was passed back to billing. Billing passed me onto someone else and so it went on only to be passed back to billing.
    Billing then tell me that even though I should get free texts I will have to pay 10p for each text!!!
    I told them that when I took out my contract it included 200 free texts. I was then told that my contract had changed and it no longer included free texts.
    I have anytime calls and unlimited broadband and at the time I took it out it included 200 free texts a month.
    I have got no were in 4 weeks each time I try I get passed from one person to another each telling me different things.
    Can someone please tell me how to sort this out? I have had enough.
    Do I get 200 free text message as per my contract or dont I?
    If my contract has been changed why wasnt I told?
    Who do I talk with that can help me sort thsi out?

  • Audigy 2 Platinum, cracks, pops and had enough! Please he

    Hi everyone, OK, I know this has been documented before, but I cannot get a resolution. I have an Audigy 2 Platinum. Most importantly, I just built one huge PC out of two perfectly working PC's. The PC the Audigy 2 Platinum was in, was working fine. Now, in my new super duper pc that has everything, it is crackling and popping all over the place, and its really driving me mad. The only time it doesn't crack and pop is when playing a sound file back through Windows Media Player, but i use multi-tracking software, so that doesn't help!
    OK, I have two MARC 8 channel soundcards also in my new PC, but they do not conflict. Trust me, they don't. (I removed them and i still had the same fault) I think it is the onboard soundcard on the new Motherboard i have as I checked in MSCONFIG32 and sure enough, it shared the same IRQ. I cannot find how to disable this onboard soundcard in my BIOS which is ASUS Revision 05 (Award Medallion v6.0) Please help as it is driving me into oblivion!
    The other difference this PC has over my old one is that it has 4 SCSI divices, two Hard dri'ves (one removable) one 2.2gb ORB dri've, and standard CD dri've.

    If your computer has any VIA chipset, and if your computer has any of the following problems, then you might need this driver.
    The computer stops ("freezes", "hangs", "locks up"), or makes unusual noises when playing sounds.
    The computer stops, or files are corrupted, when copying to or from an IDE DVD, CDROM, or CDRW dri've.
    Sounds played by the computer are distorted or have a "crackling" noise.

    There is a patch for VIA chipset and the patch WORKS for me! Try them at - http://www.georgebreese.com/net/software/ Look under "PCI Latency" patch for VIA chipsets. If you do not have a VIA chipset, you could also try the Turbo patch mention at that website.

  • [K8N Neo2 Platinum] BSOD - have had enough of them!

    My first K8N Neo2 was a DAO - no current to the PCI slots. Got a new one as replacement, seemed to work fine. "Seemed", indeed.
    I've had plenty of sudden resets and BSODs.
    I've seen:
    STOP 0x000000FC (no error or driver named)
    STOP 0x000000EA in ATI2DVAG
    STOP 0x00000050, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA in win32k.sys (also saw some 0x00000050 without the PAGE_FAULT error or driver name)
    STOP 0x0000008E
    Just yesterday I had two BSODs, just when surfing the internet.
    System - Athlon 64 3200+ (boxed), Tagan 380W PSU with 22A on the +12V rail, ATi Radeon X800 Pro, Creative Labs Audigy 2ZS, Promise Ultra133TX2, 3x Maxtor 7200rpm HD, 2x GEiL 512mb PC3500 DDR-RAM (running at PC3200), Lite-On DVD+RW and Lite-On CD+RW.
    Please note that my videocard, PCI cards and harddrives worked perfectly in my previous system (Soltek SL-75FRN2-L, nForce2 Ultra400 chipset with a Enermax 350W PSU). I've already tried running without the PCI cards.
    Voltages very near to specs, according to Corecenter -- 3.33V on the +3.3V rail, 5.05V on the +5V rail and 11.96V on the +12V rail. That's at this specific moment, under high stress (due to encoding a DVD to XVid).
    Memtest86+ : 30 passes, no errors.
    3DMark 2005: one full benchmark pass, no errors or graphical artifacts.
    Seti@Home: can run for days without any problems.
    I have noticed reproducable problems: encoding a DVD to XVid with GordianKnot and encoding DVD9 to DVD5 with DVD Rebuilder. Both resulted in me waking up and finding the login screen of Windows XP (SP2, latest Athlon 64 CPU driver, latest drivers for everything else).
    What could be causing this?
    Currently I'm running the system with only one stick of RAM, to determine if it's some kind of dual-channel problem or if Memtest86+ somehow didn't find an error while actually something was wrong...
    I should note that somewhere in the past week my floppy drive controller must have died, it was working last week and not anymore at the moment. It's recognized by Windows, but no matter which floppydrive I attach it won't work. I've also tried swapping floppy drive cables and even the powerconnector. All of no avail.
    So what's most likely to be the problem? Faulty motherboard? Faulty PSU? Faulty videocard? Or perhaps even a faulty CPU?

    Of course, now I wonder if the entire IDE configuration problems I'd had weren't caused by the faulty orange rounded MSI IDE cable that shipped with my motherboard--such that possibly all I need have done from the start was replace the IDE cable...  But, of course, it didn't hurt to  update my optical drive firmware anyway.
    Anyway--after these steps I've had no more trouble with the Neo2P in any capacity.  Your solution may not lie here, but I thought you should know about mine in case it might help you sort this out.
    Thanks for your reply. However, I haven't used MSI's cables at all. I used the ones from my previous system...
    Besides, I haven't had any issues with detection of the IDE-devices.
    Edit: Update - I'm currently running with only one DIMM (in slot 1) instead of two DIMMs (slot 1 and 2, also tried slot 3 and 4). An encode from DVD to XVid would cause a reset previously, now with only one DIMM the encode completed succesfully.
    By no means is this a 100% assurance that the RAM was causing the problems, but it sure looks like it. This night I'll try an encode from DVD9 to DVD5 using DVD Rebuilder, previously that wouldn't complete succesfully either. If it does now, I'm quite sure the RAM was causing the problems.

    after flirting with android yet again i have decided to sell my s3 and go back to the iphone,i do this periodically i had an s2 and went back to the iphone 4 then i got the s3
    I have decided to go back because I miss the smoothness and functionality of the iphone,I was underwhelmed and i am comparing this to a 4 not even a 4s!!!!!!.....my main problems with the s3 are it is too big(i knew it was big but thought I would get used to it)and the keyboard is shocking on it,I make so many mistakes its untrue,and even though its quick it does have that slightly jittery feel I only get with androids,scrolling is not impressive for a powerful phone at all...there are some great features on it but I dont use them at all its too much phone in every sense for me
    if i get the 4s and save myself roughly 150-200 quid will i have that nagging doubt i should have got the 5...is it head and shoulders above a 4s,or is it basically a remodeled version of a similar phone.
    one other point I am not a big app fan but one i use a lot is the natwest app on this same as on my old s2 it crashes all the time on the iphone4 not once did i ever have a problem

    i just have a niggling doubt about spending the extra for features Ill never use
    on a day to day basis using it as a phone,twitter,messages facebook and so on not for gaming or other intensive activities...is there a noticable difference between the 5 and the 4s,on paper there is but thats not the whole story as my time with the s3 would prove

    let me explain my situation.
    quite a while ago i purchased a 4th generation ipod touch from apple, it was all looking fine until i tried to use the home button, it didn't work. so i took it down to regent street apple store who happily told me it could be replaced, which it was, and i was quite satisfied by the smooth proccess of replacement. unfortunately, the home button on this ipod was also faulty...so once again, but slightly more irritated, i waddled down to regent street again, and once again, my ipod was replaced, 'fingers crossed' i thought as i opened the wrappings, it was fine!....but this happiness was short lived as i realised there was a huge gap on the left hand side of the ipod between the shell and the screen, it also had missing pixels...so yes....once AGAIN, i went to the apple store in london...and had it replaced, and guess what...this ipods touch screen is going insane....whenever i press near the top it will press something at the bottom, and if i swipe it will open safari e.c.t so i've made up my mind...but i need to know if i can do this, i need to know if i can go to the apple store, return this ipod touch and get a refund for my purchase originally, and then buy a new one once i have my money back. it is still in warantee and has no damage other than the stupid screen which was broken from the second i left the store. so the question is: can i return and refund my ipod touch's original purchase?

    The warrantry only says that Apple will replace the iPod and may elect to replace it witha a refurbished one.

    Ibooks isn't working properly there is lots and lots of post on the net about this on various different sites with similar problems to mine - the only thing I hadn't done as you have suggested is remove the ibooks app and re install I had been reluctant to do this as I have 6gb of files installed, but looks like I have no option now but to try that, thanks for your tip about Good Reader, this has been mentioned elsewhere - so I will take a closer look.

    So let me start this story, I'm 1 bill behind with my BT bills for phone/bt infinity. I have always been granted an extension until the next bill. So in May i paid the February bill and asked for an extension of the May bill until August. The person I spoke to at BT said yes that's no problem and it would be updated on my account. So in the middle of June I get another phone call from BT saying why haven't I paid my May bill and i clearly told them I had asked for an extension in May? So the person on the phone says alright I'll add the extension which should of previously been done ok? Now tonight about 10 minutes ago I recieve a phone call from BT for a THIRD time saying why haven't I paid my May bill. And i clearly tell them again that I've asked for an extension to be applied TWICE already and his response was if I dont pay by Monday the 23rd all my services will be cut off. I have never been so angry and upset at this, I asked for an extension on my bill twice which was confirmed to have been done???? And now apparently it never was, surely I'm not in the wrong here and something needs to be done. Also the caller that has called me tonight was so rude......

  • One month of BT and I have had enough!!

    I have just recieved an email saying I have almost come to the end of my usage and they will charge me a fiver for each 5?? whatever it was  over ................. I have only had this service a month prior to that i used my sisters as she lived here but really in 5 years and 2 users we never had this **bleep** now they say i am a heavy user NO WAY! I replied their email with remove their **bleep** from my computer and I will see a solicitor. They conned me in this .....1 week after they activated me the prices went up then 1 month of online they want to get more money from me with calling me  heavy user....I cancelled my direct debit to make them ring me.
    Totally disgusted with this rip off company. 

    So, if I understand correctly, you signed up for a 12 or 18 month contract for broadband on a package that has a maximum monthly usage that would have been clearly displayed when you signed up.
    You went over the limit and BT emailed you to tell you that there would be a penalty charge - as set out in the Terms and Conditions that you agreed to.
    Instead of saying "oops" and paying up, you went off in a strop and cancelled your direct debit.
    The next steps are typically:
    1. Your broadband and phone will be cut off,
    2. You will be contacted by BT's debt collectors.

    This is a warning I have a creative zen xtra and have had all kinds of trouble with it and today it just died the hard dri've is toast. They have a lousy warranty so I can't get a new one even though i've only had it for 6 months. **bleep** creative. I've thrown 300 down the toilet

    Jonnyx, make an informed decision whatever it is. I watch in amusement as the iPod is bashed here, and of course I realize it is a Creative site. However; there's nothing wrong with iTunes except that it makes your life easier with purchasing songs, syncing with your player, burning CD's, and ripping. A poster said that all you have is iTunes, which is incorrect. Rhapsody is now compatible with iPod via burning a CD or direct load. It is not ready for Rhapsody to go. Between iTunes and Rhapsody, what could there really be that you cannot find? As far as AAC (Apple) against WMA, I will let the stereophiles fight that one out. I really do not notice a difference, but with iTunes and iPod you can raise the bitrate if you so choose. iPod also has soundcheck, which the Touch does not. If you set soundcheck in iTunes and on your iPod, there are no leaps in volumes between different tunes at playback. SSR, I read your posts and you claim not to be a scientist or that you want to be fair: what kind of scientific basis is the fact that you have a friend and he had to return an iPod due to battery issues? One has only to read this board to see a literally hundreds of battery issues with literally EVERY player that Creative has put out. Apple had an issue with their batteries and I think they have addressed it fairly and correctly. And, yes, the Zen Touch is superior in battery time; I give it that. How many MILLIONS of iPods are out there and continue to be purchased due it being a great product with plenty of support by the manufacturer? I would love to say that if you add up all the Creative hard dri've players in circulation that they do not come close to the number of iPods that are out there. I do not have the facts on that issue, so I will just leave it as a hunch. SSR, you were the "voice of reason" months ago when the Zen Touch firmware issue got really nasty amongst several of us. You said the software would be out, but that we shouldn't think it would be July . It is August 9; no firmware, no announcement of Zen firmware, not even the courtesy of a press release to the infinite number of people who are obviously distressed about this issue. In the interim, there has been the release of three new Creative products since the Zen Touch firmware was promised to be out, and nothing from Creative and I have not seen anything from you on the fact that it did not come out when you expected it to. If you did, then I most certainly and sincerely apologize. I just think that people bashing iPod to sound cool stinks on ice. If you had one and it screwed up; go for it. You have a legitimate gripe and deserve to be heard. I have conceded several times that Creative makes a good product, but it was not for me. I lost faith in Creative. I did not dri've my SUV over my Zen Touch. I did not burn it up. I gave it to my wife, who is happy with what it does and could care less about the firmware.

    For a Month ive been having an error. I whant to download something and it says to finish my billing info. Well i managed to put a gift card (visa) and bought something. It says to input my security code, so i do and it say credit card processing is unavailable. Dont say just try later, its been a full month with this error. I have 10 updates to my apps and i cant update them. My gift card only had $5, if it takes me to put my card in the forums (0$ now) i will. WDF IS GOING ON!

    my ipod touch was plugged into my pc to transfer an album i had bought then all of a sudden all the songs on it go grey, i cant add/remove ANYTHING and my videos have disappeared. really starting to go mad. its the 3rd gen ipod touch or whatever and ive tried updating which wouldnt work even on a second attempt, i cant even update

    hi folks, after having infinity installed for over 3 years, i think its time to call it a day and go with an isp with some sort of half decent customer service!!
    I have had so called engineers calling to the house, and on tuesday had a complete profile reset, which if anything has made my connection worse than it ever was, problem is i clicked a link which said double your speed for free, all you need to do is take an extra 18 months on your contract.
    surely i can cancel this contracy as bt are not giving me anywhere near the servive i should be getting, a little advice would be greatly appriecieted thx

    the thing that is most annoying is my ping increase to gaming servers, normally i was pinging around 24-28 and now all of a sudden i am pinging 56-68 which to me is unacceptable, when gaming at a high level

    for months, absouletly months i have had constant issues with your broadband now.
    I am using bt option 2 with the 40gb dl limit, i have fixed all my issues on my end with the internet...problems persists.
    I am consistently disconnected, put onto local area connections and given 7kb/s speeds. If i want dial up i would get dial up.
    I am not stupid either, dont give a simple response BT i am a technician for IT and networking and run a network as a job, and the issue here is you.
    Consistent slow internet speed, i open a web page i disconnect. It took 4 reconnects to confirm my email address for this.
    All i get is local only connections too. This is consistently happening and has not stopped for the last few weeks constantly now.
    I want this issue resolved, as im sure, BT dont pay for bad employees, i wont pay for bad service regardless of contracts, i think thats fair to say.
    Get back to me on this, it is just consistently bad connections and constant disconnections. Also i want a reasonable answer for this terrible service not an excuse.

    Well with respect to the OP, perhaps he does need forum help, IT tech or not .... (we have benefited a few)
    Because the first realisation about line adaptive broadband, is that if he is experiencing consistent disconnections ....  for one reason or another, then the line speed will plummet anyway, through default.
    Clearly like 99% of all broadband problems on here, there will be a fault either on the line or at the exchange.
    There may also be a problem in the home .... but the line speed and performance he has at the moment is most definately because of a fault .... and not a perceived policy.
    An IT person "au fait" with broadband would know that ....
    @ the OP
    I would start with a quiet line test, and work from there .... and then contact a moderator for further help if you need specific tests from BT's end.
    And of course, there is loads of stuff to read on the forum, using the search and keywords.
    Feel free to post the line stats if you do need help .... we do it all the time.  
    And incidently, if you require BT moderator help, you need to make the first contact to them, merely placing a thread on here may not get the attention you might require.
